Paul Walker Owned: 2003 Audi Rs6 Avant (imported - **rare**) on 2040-cars
Mahwah, New Jersey, United States
This beautiful and RARE Audi RS6 *Avant* is not only a piece of history, it was also owned by one of the most popular names in the car industry, Paul Walker. This limited production vehicle was imported from Japan in July 2003, by Paul, as the Avant was not offered in the United States. After making this RS6 DOT compliant, Paul owned this vehicle until October 2011, where it was registered in Arizona. (Scan of title and bill of sale included in sale to verify authenticity)
This vehicle was purchased directly from Paul in October 2011. At that time, the vehicle had approximately 69,000 miles on the engine and chassis. Since its ownership change, this vehicle has been meticulously maintained and serviced every 3,000 miles. In January 2012, the original engine suffered a malfunction and a brand new Audi OEM short block engine (from the dealer) was installed by Eurotech Motorsports. Along with the engine, a new timing belt/water pump kit was installed, Additionally, all gaskets, seals, O-rings for all components were replaced. No expense was spared when repairing this vehicle due to its history. (Please see below for additional information on services.) Since then, the engine has run as strong as new. In April 2014, the transmission was completely rebuilt by ZF Transmissions, due to minor slippage from 2nd to 3rd gears.

Audi reveals special A5 DTM Champion edition
Fri, 18 Oct 2013For this year's DTM touring car championship in Germany, Audi switched (at least in appearance) from the A5 to the more muscular look of the RS5. But now that it's won the title (the driver's title anyway), it's the base A5 that's getting the celebratory treatment.
Limited to just 300 units, the new A5 DTM Champion edition honors its winning driver Mike Rockenfeller in similar fashion to the special-edition BMW M3 that paid tribute to last year's champion, Bruno Spengler. It comes with a rear spoiler, special 20-inch alloys, aluminum trim on the mirror caps and, of course, a smattering of special badges inside and out.
Buyers will be able to place their orders next week in red, white or grey, with any of four engine choices, at a €1,900 premium. That is, in Europe, anyway. Given that DTM hasn't picked up on this side of the Atlantic just yet, we wouldn't go looking for this model at our local Audi dealer Stateside.
Subaru WRX STI vs. Audi S3 in compact AWD dustup
Wed, 23 Jul 2014It's not every day that a Subaru and an Audi can be reasonably compared head-to-head; the two brands tend not to compete directly in their respective segments. However, the latest WRX STI and the S3 Sedan offer the perfect chance to find out if the working-class Scooby can beat its upper-crust competitor.
The UK's Auto Express gets behind the wheel of these two all-wheel drive performance sedans, or saloons as the Brits call them. Across the pond, both of them are rated at an identical 296 horsepower, but the Subaru edges out the Four Rings on torque. Like in the US, British buyers have to pay a little more to get the Audi, but it comes with a nicer interior and more brand cachet, if that means anything to you.
The video starts out with a fairly standard road test comparing the two of them back-to-back - all fairly subjective. But then Auto Express takes the trip to the drag strip, and the results there are much more conclusive. There's a definite winner when they cross the line, but you have to scroll down to see which of these turbocharged models with rallying heritage wins out.
Next Audi R8 to eschew engine downsizing, go on diet instead
Wed, 26 Jun 2013Looking across the Audi landscape, many models that used to get the company's high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 are now powered by smaller, yet similarly powerful, forced-induction engines. From what Auto Express is reporting, though, the next-generation Audi R8 will not meet this same fate.
Rather than ditching its V8 and V10 powerplants, the next-gen R8 - expected to debut in 2015 - will shed pounds from its curb weight. The 2014 R8 currently weighs between 3,583 pounds and up to 3,957 pounds, but the report says that engineers are targeting a weight of less than 3,300 pounds. All models will get cylinder deactivation, which along with lower curb weights should help to improve fuel economy and emissions. Head on over to Auto Express for more reported information as well as a handful of renderings that take a stab at how the next R8 may look.
