Carbon and suede everywhere. Looks more like a Lambo on the inside, Very high quality, this is how it should come from the factory. Larini Club Sport Exhaust System - $5,000 Details: This is one incredible sounding exhaust system! Wow! Never heard anything like it. Literally, jaws drop from every direction. The stock exhaust sounds like it should fit a Volvo. This is a proper exhaust sound for this car. Blips on the down shift! Must here to believe. SUPER CAR SOUND ALL THE WAY! The Following Tuning Has Been Completed By Professional Tuners and Is Completely Reversible If So Desired: Eurocharged ECU Tune - $1,200 German Motoring TCU Tune - $1,000 Sprint Booster - $250 Details of the ECU/TCU Tune: The ECU and TCU tune combined with the Sprint Booster has significantly improved this R8's performance and comfort to say the least. I drove this car stock for a few months before installing the following modifications and I must say it drives significantly better. I would never drive stock again. The acceleration is much more crisp and instant, and in manual mode the shifts are blistering fast. In my personal opinion, I would not recommend anyone to drive this car without the ECU AND TCU modification with sprint booster. For those who don't know, the sprint booster is installed by the acceleration pedal and makes the car feel much more alive and agile but can be easily deactivated with the push of a button. Has comfort mode, spirited, and race. All of these modifications were carefully selected for comfort, safety and daily use. WITH ALL OF THE PERFORMANCE MODS THE CAR IS ESTIMATED TO 480 HP! NOT FAR BEHIND THE V10. (I will include the original audi r8 grille, silver side blades, as well as stock exhaust system with the sale.) THE CONDITION OF THIS VEHICLE IS CONSISTENT WITH ITS AGE AND MILEAGE; IT IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE INSIDE AND OUT AND IS FULLY DETAILED AND KEPT INDOORS WHILE STORED. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS VEHICLE IS PRE-OWNED AND NOT BRAND NEW, AND AS SUCH THEY MAY REFLECT WEAR AND TEAR IN CONSISTENCE WITH AGE. I TRY MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THE VEHICLES AND THEIR OPTIONS, BUT SOMETIMES WE MAY MAKE AN ERROR; SO IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS PLEASE MESSAGE ME TO VERIFY ANY INFORMATION AS FAR AS OPTIONS OR CONDITION OF VEHICLE BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. |

Audi TT Sportback Concept rounds out an icon
Thu, 02 Oct 2014That German automakers seem singularly fixated on filling any white space between their models isn't new - the last decade-plus has seen their showrooms overflowing with niche models, some of which seemingly occupy sub-genres of sub-genres. To our eyes, there's often diminishing aesthetic and utilitarian returns to go along with the heightened price tags that accompany these models, but we're beginning to think Audi is tackling its personal diversity initiative best. Unlike the often heavy-handed designs from rivals (we're looking at you, BMW), Ingolstadt seems to be doing doing a more graceful job of carving out models between models. The latest proof of this is the TT Sportback Concept, just unveiled here at the Paris Motor Show.
After showing off its Allroad Shooting Brake Concept in Detroit and, more recently, in the Offroad Concept in Beijing amidst rumors of the TT sports car platform expanding into an entire family, we're not surprised to see this more utilitarian five-door hatchback showcar here in France. This, despite the fact that Audi already counts similarly proportioned A5 Sportback and A7 Sportback models in its lineup.
Of the TT line extension concepts, this Sportback certainly looks the most production ready, with a bare minimum of showcar tinsel masking realistic proportions and detailing. We think it's quite handsome from stem to stern, even if it's a bit familiar looking. The design incorporates Audi's trademark big-grille look with the TT's prominent arched roofline and heavily radiused fenders, along with a rear lighting graphic that subtly echoes the A3. Despite its leggy looks, the TT Sportback Concept is surprisingly compact, spanning less than a foot longer overall than the production 2016 TT despite its 4.7-inch longer wheelbase and extra set of doors. Those sleek looks come at least partially as the result of an overall height that sits 1.2 inches lower than the TT coupe.
Audi's next-gen "matrix beam lighting system" under threat from Washington
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Automotive News reports Audi may have a hard road ahead of it when it comes to convincing federal regulators to allow the company's new matrix beam lighting. The system uses small cameras to detect other vehicles on the road and darkens specific elements of the high-beam pattern to provide maximum nighttime visibility without blinding other drivers. Audi has been displaying this technology on its concept cars for a couple of years now (including the Crosslane Coupe Concept shown above at its 2012 Paris Motor Show reveal). Audi hopes the technology will effectively do away with the industry's current high and low beam settings, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration doesn't allow such a system under its current laws. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 specifically says headlamps are not to shine in this dynamic of a way.
Audi has asked has asked NHTSA for more clarification to determine what, if any elements of the matrix beam lighting technology can legally be used on US-specification vehicles. But American buyers may have to settle for systems that automatically dim their high beams until the rules get a bit more clarification.
Automakers teaming with Google to bring Android to cars this year
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Remember how we mentioned that Hyundai would be offering a BlueLink infotainment app for Google Glass? And how last week, we told you about a rumored partnership between Audi and Google? Well, both of these things were just part of a much bigger deal.
Google has teamed up with Audi, General Motors, Hyundai and Honda to form the Open Automotive Alliance. With the help of chipmaker NVIDIA, the group aims to bring Google's Android operating system to the auto industry on a large scale. While the speed with which Android will be adopted by the industry remains unclear - the OAA's own press release says "timing for each automaker will vary" - we could see the first Android-equipped vehicle by year's end.
For those that keep their ear to the ground in the automotive tech world, this is a big deal for more than just one reason - Honda, GM and Hyundai are all partners in the Siri Eyes Free program from Apple. The future of that relationship now that three of its automakers are in bed with Apple's arch-rival, though, could be under threat.
