A magical, disappearing ad for the hydrogen Audi A7 Sportback H-Tron

It's not quite Tupac appearing at Coachella with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in hologram form, but it'll do for the gearhead set. Audi is looking to make a first impression for its A7 Sportback H-Tron hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle by making as little of an impression as possible. Like the car itself, Audi has, as it says in a video, "created ads that leave behind nothing but vaporized water." Pretty slick. Audi worked with German advertising agency Thjnk, on the campaign, which uses LED lighting and other bits of magic to first show an image of the sedan and then show it disappearing into a cloud of steam, according to Adweek. The publication posted Audi's 58-second video on the campaign (we've embedded a German version of the video for those looking to practice a bit of linguistics). The German automaker first revealed details about the A7 Sportback H-Tron late last year. The all-wheel-drive sedan can go as far as 31 miles on electricity alone. And the hydrogen fuel-cell drivetrain delivers almost 400 pound-feet of torque and a full (hydrogen) tank's range of 311 miles as well as a 0-62 mile per hour time of less than eight seconds and a top speed of 112 mph. Audi introduces Q7 E-Tron 2.0 TFSI in Shanghai

Audi made a name for itself with its Quattro all-wheel-drive system, and is rapidly expanding its range of E-Tron hybrids. And now it's bringing the two together for the first time with the new Q7 E-Tron 2.0 TFSI. The company's first vehicle to combine a turbocharged engine, hybrid assist and all-wheel drive, the Audi Q7 E-Tron 2.0 TFSI boasts all the enhancements wrought on Ingolstadt's new flagship crossover, but with a range of over 633 miles – nearly 33 of them on electric power alone. The powertrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo four with an electric motor that combine to deliver 367 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That's said to be enough to send the hybrid luxury crossover to 62 in 5.9 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 136 miles per hour, while boasting fuel efficiency of a claimed 94 miles per gallon. Unfortunately, however, the Q7 E-Tron is earmarked only for specific Asian markets – namely China, Singapore and Japan. So don't count on seeing this hybrid crossover in US showrooms any time soon – at least not in this specification. Audi is presenting the Q7 e-tron 2.0 TFSI quattro at Auto Shanghai. According to the measurement method specified in China for PHEVs, the large SUV can cover up to 53 kilometers (32.9 mi) solely on the electricity stored in its lithium-ion battery – quietly, powerfully and with zero local emissions. Total range is 1,020 kilometers (633.8 mi). The Audi Q7 e-tron 2.0 TFSI quattro will be available beginning in 2016. Audi CEO Rupert Stadler: Ducati is not for sale

"Ducati is not for sale." Those words, attributed to Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, are about as clear and definitive as can be, and they reiterate a previous statement about the potential sale of the premium Italian motorcycle brand that was made in March of this year. "[Ducati and Lamborghini] belong to Audi and, together with us, have an excellent future," said Stadler. Thing is, Audi, as well-off and established as it may be, still falls under the Volkswagen umbrella. And, as you're surely aware, things haven't exactly been smooth sailing for the VW Group over the last several months. The German automaker has squirreled away billions of dollars in anticipation of the legal fallout that's sure to come from the falsification of vehicle emissions data, and that's going to leave the company strapped for cash. All of that bad news led to speculation that VW could sell off some of its non-core businesses. What of the future of the Scania and Man heavy truck brands? Those don't currently appear to be on the auction block, either. VW's continued involvement in the HD truck segment was announced as part of the brand's TOGETHER - Strategy 2025 plan, in which Volkswagen outlined plans to push further into vehicle electrification and vehicle autonomy.
