Charleston, South Carolina, United States

Thanks for stopping by.  Its with sadness that we are selling our very new Q7.  This is my wife's car.  I drive an RS6 and allroad (both C5's, thank goodness).  We recently replaced her Honda Odyssey with the Q7.  After owning and driving the car for 2 days my wife experienced leg circulation/numbness issues with the seat.  We tried all angles of adjustment and cushions over several days following.  The result is still a major discomfort issue for my wife.  She has a history of back issues affecting her legs so this is somewhat of no surprise to us.  For certain, the surprise is now we should sell the Q7.  We will go back to the Odyssey with the 'smushy' seats.

We are Audi fans and for a Q7 with only 221 miles (yes, that's right, 221), we are babying her because we want it to go to a good home for a great price.  We have owned the car less than 1 week.  The car is spotless with zero blemishes.

Here are the details of our specific trimmed Q7:
Carrara White with Limestone interior - S Line Prestige w/ 3.0T engine (beautiful color combo)
Note this is the High Output 3.0T 333HP engine not found on the Premium & Premium Plus trims.  HO engine only on the S Line trim.

Our specific Q7 options are:
Towing package - 6,600lbs, increased engine cooling capacity, trailer hitch, 7-pin socket and hitch ball mount
Front filler panel for bumper
Audi first aid kit
Audi Guard Protection kit (all-weather floor and cargo mats)
Audi roof cross bars

Here are the S Line and other features also on our specific Q7:

We also added the AudiCare package which is scheduled maintenance included for the next 4 years (this is on top of Audi's normal warranty coverage).  I am waiting for an answer on whether or not the AudiCare package is transferable.

We purchased the Q7 new last week from our local Audi dealership.  I'm sure they will answer any validating questions you might have about me or the Q7.

This is a great opportunity to get thousands off a beautiful (nearly new) Q7.    <<<< Serious buyers only please >>>>   Any questions, let me know.

Logistics: You must arrange your own shipping but I will help facilitate anything related to having the Q7 checked out and shipped.

Payment: You must present and pay upon closing of the auction, $1,000 via paypal or wire transfer.  This is your intent-to-purchase deposit.  You are expected to pay the remaining sale balance within 5 calendar days via certified check or wire transfer.  Checks shall be delivered via FedEx overnight.  If you do not pay the balance within 5 days I will only refund half of your deposit (minus paypal and ebay relisting fees).

A note on price: We will keep the Q7 if we don't get the price we want so no low ball offers please.  Let's not waste anybody's time.

Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro Selection puts a fresh face on old memories

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

I've been fortunate enough to drive plenty of memorable cars over the years, and one of my all-time favorites is the Audi RS4 sedan. It was only sold in the United States for a short time, but during that quick run, it made a huge impression on me. I remember everything about that car - the smell, the sound, the exact feeling of the manual shifter as it clicked between the six gears, and the texture of the steering wheel that I so happily tossed about. In fact, whenever I'm feeling nostalgic, I go back and watch this video of the late David E. Davis, Jr., running the California Mille roads in a Sprint Blue RS4 - a video we shot for Winding Road many years ago during my tenure as an editor there.
So even though the Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro that debuts here in Geneva isn't super important, especially for our American-centric audience, I feel compelled to write about it. No, we don't get the lovely RS4 in the States anymore, but the package offered in Europe is just as sweet as ever - perhaps even more so, what with that stylish longroof shape. Under the hood is Audi's excellent, naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine, tuned to deliver 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, allowing for a 0-62 sprint of 4.7 seconds.
The Nogaro name refers to the special blue paint - a throwback to the original Audi RS2 Avant that kicked off the company's super sweet luxury offerings. Other unique features for the Nogaro car include gloss black exhaust outlets, window frames and grille surround, as well as matte black roof rails. Special 20-inch wheels round off the exterior enhancements, and inside, Nogaro Blue Alcantara accents can be had on the door panels and seat inners.

Audi revising own history in light of 'shocking' study of Nazi-era activities

Fri, 30 May 2014

Daimler opened up its archives for research into its Nazi affiliations for one book published in 1990 and another in 1998. The Quandt family behind BMW had its public catharsis in 2007. The ties between the National Socialists and the Porsche and Piech families have almost rendered the Volkswagen Beetle some kind of cult tchotchke of the Third Reich. And it's not just automakers called in for cleansing: Deutsche Bank credit helped build Auschwitz, Hugo Boss made Nazi uniforms, patriarch of food and frozen pizza giant Dr. Oetker volunteered for the Waffen-SS. As one historian said, for any business that wanted to stay in business during the war, "no company was really clean. Everyone had to resort to slave labor when their own workers were fighting at the front."
Audi is the latest to go public with findings from an in-depth study of the Nazi-affiliated past of Auto Union, its predecessor company, and the "Father of Auto Union" Dr. Richard Bruhn, the man who headed it pre- and post-war. Commissioned by Audi, written by Audi's history department head Martin Kukowski and University of Chemnitz historian Rudolf Boch, its findings are just as severe as those already heard so often over the past 20 years. Among other discoveries, the study found that not only did Brun manage the use of more than 3,700 forced labor camp workers from seven SS-run camps, 16,500 forced laborers that didn't live in camps worked in two more factories; Bruhn wanted even more laborers but couldn't get them because of the battlefield situation; and that Auto Union had "moral responsibility" for roughly 4,500 workers killed at the Flossenbürg concentration camp. The study found that disabled workers were routinely sent to the camp and executed there.
Audi works council head Peter Mosch said, "I'm very shocked by the scale of the involvement of the former Auto Union leadership in the system of forced and slave labor. I was not aware of the extent." The company is figuring out how it will respond to the findings, so far working on changing the online profile of Dr. Bruhn on its history pages on Audi sites around the world, and considering stripping Brun's name from the street that bears it and from company offerings like pension plans. If you can read German or can work Google Translate, Wirtschaftswoche has a long piece on the study and its conclusions.

Audi design chief Egger leaving for Italdesign Giugiaro

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Wolfgang Egger, Audi's chief designer, is leaving the company according to a Automotive News Europe, which cites a report from Germany's Automobilwoche. Egger won't be going far, though, remaining within the Volkswagen family and taking up head design position Italdesign Giugiaro, a VW subsidiary as of 2010.
Egger took over the position at Audi from Walter de Silva, and has been responsible most recently for the Audi A6 and A3, as well as the 2010 Quattro Concept and the E-Tron Concept. He previously was head of design at Lancia and then at Alfa Romeo, where he was responsible for the achingly gorgeous 8C Competizione.
If Egger does move to Italdesign, his successor is likely to be Marc Lichte, the Volkswagen designer behind the current Golf. Of course, these personnel changes haven't been officially confirmed, and Audi is thus far refusing to comment on either Egger or Lichte's possible career shifts. We'll stay with this one, so sit tight.
