2001 Audi A8 Quattro L Sedan 4-door 4.2l 128k Service Records on 2040-cars

I have a 2001 Audi A8 L with factory 18 inch wheels. I have the original window sticker over 70k new, owners manual, navigation discs, and one key. I purchased another key that I will include but it needs to be cut and programmed. I have owned the car for 2 years and spent over 5k in maintenance and have all the records of work completed. All options function properly except for two. The drivers head rest motor activates but the headrest does not move. There is a YouTube video on how to fix this problem. Also the passenger side rear window works but does not go down or up with one touch. Since it continued to work I never looked into issue.
There are no lights in the dash, motor and transmission function properly with no leaks. The timing belt with water pump and tensioner was done at 109k with the cam and crank seals replaced. The coolant was flushed at this time. The transmission has been serviced at 65k and 122k with the fluid and filter changed. Other work that has been done are the fuel pump, oil cooler lines, alternator, battery, pads and rotors, tires, front half shafts, xenon headlamps, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, crank sensor, rear seal on transmission, power steering fluid flushed, brake fluid flushed, and the front 4 lower control arms. Also the previous owner lived in a wooded area so all the drains have been cleaned for the moon roof and climate control system. The moon roof functions properly with no leaks. If I missed something it's in the service record book. Last year I took a job that requires a 70 miles commute so instead of racking up the miles the car sits and I drive it on the weekends. At this point I'm ready to sell it and let someone else enjoy it. I just changed the oil and filter recently and will include another oil filter and air filter. Also included is a brand new pair of drilled and slotted front brake rotors from Brake Labs. I let the car sit too much and existing rotors rusted and are slightly warped. Audi creates new diesel fuel from carbon dioxide and water
Mon, Apr 27 2015What if you could power cars of the future with pollution created by the cars of the past? That's what German automaker Audi is hoping to achieve by creating a new synthetic fuel using renewable energy to turn water and carbon dioxide gas into a new kind of fuel they call "e-diesel." The new diesel is being produced at Audi's pilot plant Sunfire in Dresden, Germany. Only a few gallons were created, which the German Federal Minister of Education and Research Johanna Wanka put into her Audi A8 to prove the fuel's bonafides. The base fuel is known as "blue crude" and begins from a green source. Audi uses electricity from wind, water or solar power sources to separate hydrogen from oxygen in water. The hydrogen is then mixed with carbon dioxide which has been converted in carbon oxide. The blue crude is then further refined to create the e-diesel. The carbon dioxide is currently supplied by a biogas facilities, but some of that CO2 was captured from the air. "The engine runs quieter and fewer pollutants are being created," says Sunfire CTO Christian von Olshausen. The fuel can be combined with conventional diesel fuel, as biodiesel fuels already and would be competitively priced against regular diesel, according to Gizmag. Sunfire can produce about 42 gallons of e-diesel a day. That seems like barely a drop in the bucket in terms of Europe's energy use, but Audi is ready to commercialize the technology with plans to expand production with a bigger facility in the future.
Audi to enter third R18 following Loic Duval's huge crash
Thu, 12 Jun 2014When we saw the picture above yesterday, our first thought went to driver Loic Duval. After hearing that he, miraculously, walked away from the annihilated heap that had been the number one Audi R18 e-tron Quattro, our next thought went Audi's hopes in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the race kicking off on Saturday, we couldn't be sure if the team would run a two-car effort (that would put them on even footing with the two-car teams of Porsche and Toyota), attempt to rebuild the decimated racer or bring in a new tub and start from scratch.
Turns out, Audi opted for door number three, importing an all-new chassis to replace the destroyed R18. According to Audi, the team pulled an all-nighter to ready the new car in time for scrutineering and the second round of qualifying.

Sat, 22 Jun 2013The 2013, 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has begun, tragedy marking the opening laps with the death of Allan Simonsen. We're at the track now as a guest of Audi and plan to stay through the evening, and even we haven't been able to find out what caused the accident - the only video is from just after the incident, and beyond the statement from ACO there's been no more news. The Aston Martin in the LM GTE Am class and its all-Danish drivers had taken pole in its class and was one of the favorites to win.
The pre-race report will come first, and even thought we can't spoil the race because we're only five hours into it at the time of writing, we'll put all of the news at the end in case you don't even want the updates.
