This is the 2013 Audi S7, not the A7. Ebay Motors doesn't have a selling selection for the S7, so I chose the closest thing. Find full details on this supercar at http://www.audiusa.com/models/audi-s7.

Engine

The S7 uses an engine based on the V-8 that was first seen in the 2012 A8. It's a very compact package, the turbos tucked in the engine's 90-degree vee with the exhaust ports in the heads' inside, the intakes on the outside. At 4.0 liters, the new direct-injected powerplant produces 420 bhp, with 406 lb-ft of torque on a plateau that stretches from 1400 to 5200 rpm. This compares to the 310 bhp and 325 lb-ft supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 in the A7. The 0-60 time comes in at 4.7 seconds, about a second quicker than the A7.

Fuel economy is improved, and when you're cruising at light throttle, electronics shut down cylinders 2-3-5-8. To combat any untoward noise and vibration from the shutdown, Audi has included active noise control through the sound system and active engine mounts.

Nail the throttle, take a quick breath while the turbos spool up and the S is on its way to 60 and beyond, which is officially set at 155 mph.

Audi and Mercedes both outsell BMW in January

Tue, Feb 10 2015

There won't be any celebrations in Munich this month, as BMW was outsold by arch-nemeses Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The Bavarian company finished behind Audi in January, which took the top spot for the first time since June of last year, Bloomberg reports. Ingolstadt rode high on a 10-percent bump in sales, while Mercedes saw a larger 14 percent increase. BMW, meanwhile, only saw a modest 6.3-percent sales increase last month, thanks in large part to its struggles in China. The company's sales there increased at about half the rate of its chief competitors, with a 7.9-percent jump to Mercedes and Audi's roughly 15-percent increases. Perhaps more worrying for BMW, though, is that this could become something of a trend for the company. According to Bloomberg, issues with Chinese dealers who cancelled orders over sales targets and bonuses combined with what the publication calls aging models, could spell bad news for the German marque. "This looks like a pretty significant decline in growth compared to Mercedes and Audi," Bankhaus Metzler analyst Juergen Pieper told Bloomberg. "I think this will continue during the next few months." News Source: BloombergImage Credit: Matthias Schrader / AP Earnings/Financials Audi BMW Mercedes-Benz

2015 Audi Q7 spotted with a blurry first look

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Here's the good news: we finally have visual evidence of the upcoming and all-new 2015 Audi Q7 luxury SUV. A set of photographs show that Audi has been putting the SUV through its paces, with an eye towards an on-sale date sometime late next year.
The bad news is that it was not one of our usual clear-lensed spy photographers that captured these first images, but rather a sycophantic follower of our friends at CarPix. The resulting images are a lot lower resolution than we've come to expect, and there are far fewer angles from which to judge the car.
Still, we can make out the nose of the new Q7 is a bit flatter and wider than the rounded affair of the current car, and wears similar swoopy LED headlights as are found in the rest of the Audi range. We expect the overall dimensions of the 2015 Q7 to stay about the same as the existing model, but rumor has it that the SUV could be 800 to 900 pounds lighter in the next generation.

Audi Prologue concept goes for A9, we give it a ten

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

If you've been waiting for Audi to roll out a new design language, you need wait no longer as Ingolstadt is displaying just that at the Los Angeles Auto Show this year with the Prologue concept you see here.
Penned by Audi's new design chief Marc Lichte, the Prologue is earmarked to introduce a shift (if not quite a complete change) in design direction for the German automaker. The trapezoidal grille sits wider and lower than on existing models, with the wedge-shaped laser headlights positioned higher above new air intakes with blade elements. The profile rests balanced across its wheelbase to visually emphasize the all-wheel drive that is part of Audi's DNA, with flared arches inspired by the legendary Ur-Quattro. The rear section is inspired by yachts, angled forward to suggest motion, with a narrow strip of LED taillights, full-width diffuser element and twin trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Inside it's all light and surgically clean, with a horizontal dashboard integrating four touchscreen displays running its full width. The system even allows the passenger to select the route for the navigation system and swipe it on over to the driver's display. The headrests on the rear seats and the "sound spoiler" on the rear shelf deploy only when needed, unobstructing the rear view when not.
