I have a 2002 Audi A6, that is not running, for sale. I haven't had the car diagnosed, but I think the problem is the fuel pump. Car turns over, and every now and then sounds like there is a little combustion happening, but not enough to start. I am giving no guarantee that the problem is the fuel pump, this is just a guess.  The car was running fine, then all of the sudden it wouldn't start and has been sitting in my driveway ever since.  The rest of the bad is as follows. The transmission has the notorious flashing PRNDS that is common to this CVT transmission. The car drove fine, but you couldn't use the sport shift feature, and had very little power in reverse. There are many shops that you can send the TCM to, and they will fix the board and send it back to you (approx. $240 including shipping on ebay), but you need to be able to pull the TCM, which means you need to pull the transmission housing (if you buy the service for the TCM rebuild, they will send you instructions on how to pull the TCM). Not difficult if you know your way around these cars, but I just never had the time. There is also a small tear in one of the CV boots. I have a brand new set of CV joints at my house, and if you are handy, this is a very easy replacement. The car has a few very minor hail dings (less then 10) and one small dent in the drivers side fender and the center console cupholder is broken (should be about $20 from Audi). The windshield was cracked when someone tried to replace the rearview mirror, and will need to be replaced ($275 if you have safelite come to you and replace it).
Now for the good. This car was fully loaded from the factory. It came with the Bose stereo system with the 6 disc in dash CD player, which sounds amazing still. It has the leather heated seats, which are in great condition. It has the power moonroof and the A/C blew ice cold when the car was running. The car has the Xenon HID Projector lights from the factory.  I just replaced the front 2 tires, and the full size spare also has a good tire on it, but the rear tires should be replaced soon. All the brakes have been done within the last 2 years. This car was very fun to drive, and I hate to sell it, but I work 2 jobs and have a family, and just don't have the time to fix it.  You will need to arrange for a tow, or come with a trailer. If you want to take the time to part it out, it should be very lucritive. The engine with similiar miles sells for over $2,000 and the Transmission can sell for over $1500.  The headlights sell for around $500-$600 for the set.  I see the leather seats sell for $600-$800 regularly, and each door can sell for at least $200. Stereo usually goes anywhere from $200-$400 and each of the little plastic trim pieces inside sell for $20-$300.

New Audi TT likely headed for Geneva reveal

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

Between the Consumer Electronics Show and the Detroit Auto Show, Audi is creating plenty of buzz lately for its upcoming third-generation TT. Fortunately, we won't have to wait too much longer to see the next Audi TT, though, as Autocar reports that the coupe will make its big debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
In speaking with Audi's technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg, the article states that the 2015 TT will first be revealed in March before going on sale later in the year. Previewed by the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept (shown above), it isn't that hard envisioning what the new TT could look like: ditch the shooting brake roofline, tall ride height and obvious conceptual design cues. Of course, if this styling is more your thing than the two-seater TT, Hackenberg left open the possibility of a TT Allroad or even a TT-based crossover.

These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years

Thu, Nov 19 2020

The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss. Audi highlights headlights on upcoming new R8

Mon, Feb 16 2015

Audi is preparing to roll out an all-new R8... but it's not about to reveal the whole thing at once. So in the first in what promises to be a series of teasers, the German automaker is showing off the new supercar's headlights. (Or headlight, we should say, in the singular.) Not unlike the R8 LMX revealed in Paris, the second-generation Audi supercar will incorporate LED headlights with an optional laser high-beam module. Unfortunately since laser headlights are illegal in the United States, the option isn't likely to be offered here. That is, at least, until Audi succeeds in convincing federal regulators otherwise. Although the teaser image above, like the press release below, may shine the light (so to speak) principally on the headlights, the shrouded shape also gives us a (little) bit to chew on. Yes, it will be available in blue, but beyond that we can expect the new R8 to incorporate slightly more angular lines than the model it replaces, with a more pronounced trapezoidal grille up in an overall design similar to the new TT, only more so. But then we already knew that much and more from the undisguised image that leaked out a little over a week ago. Ingolstadt, 2015-02-16 Audi reveals laser headlights for the new R8 - New mid-engine sports car features high-tech headlights - Laser high-beam offers high light intensity and excellent range Audi is revealing the headlights of its new R8* as the first of a number of technology highlights of the top sports car. The R8 uses LED headlights which can be supplemented by a laser high beam lighting module as an option. The new R8 will set new standards among high-performance sports cars – including in its lighting technology. As an option, the latest car development by Audi can be equipped with a laser spot as the high-beam headlight. The special appeal of laser lighting is that it uses high-intensity laser diodes, which generate a lot of light energy from a very small component. Compared to LED high-beam headlights, laser high-beams attain nearly twice the lighting range. Each headlight contains one laser module that operates with four high-intensity laser diodes. This module bundles the four intense blue-light laser beams. Then a phosphor converter transforms the blue light into pure white light. An identifying characteristic of the laser headlights is their blue light signature. Standard equipment in the new R8 includes an LED headlight system.
