2000 Audi A6 Quatro Wagon-awd on 2040-cars
Campton, New Hampshire, United States
Up for auction is my Audi A6 Quatro Wagon...I bought this as a 3rd car and drove it for years...it is registered but did not pass inspection. It needs a new exhaust (reason why it's a wee bit loud) and the main reason it didn't pass inspection. It also needs some other stuff:
Right front light has a crack in the lens, and new ball joints. Engine runs strong. transmission shifts as it should. All power- windows, locks, roof, a/c, heat, heated seats, wipers, stereo work as they should. The tires are in good shape ( a year old) -stereo /cd works, and the ac blows ice cold. Comfy leather heated seats and and a working sunroof. The glove box lock fell off so it is rigged with a twisty tie to open and close it. ( although I still have the lock if you want to fix it). The outside is ok except the passengers side front panel...not bad, but you can tell that someone hit it lightly. However, it does not affect the driving of the car as we fixed it the best it could be fixed without getting a brand new panel. I honestly do not need this car at all as we have just gotten a new car. I must tell you I lugged my two labs around in this car so it would need a good scrub down! :-) It was our "dog mobile"! I called to see if an Audi specialized auto salvage would want it and if so, how much they would pay me for it. I got the number from them so I am starting it off at their price...anymore I make is gravy. Just want it out of my yard! This car still drives nice but needs work. There is still life left to this baby. A great second car to have once these items are fixed. We just don't need it so we don't want to spend the money. We live in the white mountains of NH-near Waterville Valley ( 2. 15 hours north of Boston). On Jul-17-14 at 08:55:35 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I didn't realize my husband replaced the cracked lens so you can scratch that off the list...One other thing I forgot to mention: the passenger side window "sticks" sometimes when going back up! You have to use you hand to guide it up. I also cleaned out the car today |

Notes from Day One of the 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring
Sat, 16 Mar 2013The 61st edition of The 12 Hours of Sebring is on, and Autoblog has come to central Florida with Audi to feast on jumbo boiled peanuts, pickled eggs and the final race for the LMP1 class at the oldest road course in North America. As Audi has been doing for more than a decade now, it's brought its latest endurance race car, the 2013-spec R18 etron quattro, to Sebring to begin testing for Le Mans.
Why the commitment to Sebring? Audi Sport executives have repeatedly called Sebring "punishing," "extremely demanding" and "one of the toughest tracks in the world." It is a 3.47-mile circuit that, in places, feels like it was made from the leftover bits of other circuits. Doing the 12-hour distance in Florida is thought to be a good start on lasting the 24-hour distance in France, and we can't think it a coincidence that Audi has won ten times here in the last 13 years and 11 times in Gaul.
Where there's rhyme - and victory - there is reason. We think we found a few of them on our first day where preparation, technology, fastidious attention to detail and sweat fit right in with swamp cabbage...
An amazing Group B rally car collection heads to auction
Tue, Jan 26 2021Kicking off in 1982, the Group B era spawned some of the most fearsome rally cars of all time. The technologically advanced pioneers of all-wheel drive and turbocharging defined a time when automakers had carte blanche to build machines with unrestricted power, without the burden of homologating a large number of road cars to qualify. The results were sometimes deadly, leading the FIA to ban the class after 1986. Now, a collection of seven Group B monsters is headed across the block in Paris as part of the Artcurial auction, held in partnership with France's famed Retromobile show. The show has been delayed to June, however. There's a 1985 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, one of 20 Evo II models that helped the company achieve two championships in Group B's short run. This particular example was driven by world champion Timo Salonen at the 1986 Swedish Rally, where it finished seventh due to an oil filter seal failure. Bruno Saby subsequently drove it at the 1986 Tour de Corse and Peugeot entered it at the 1986 Acropolis Rally as well. It's still registered to Peugeot Talbot Sport and represents a French technological achievement, according to Artcurial, comparable to the Concorde or TGV train. Representing Italy are a pair of Lancias in the iconic Martini livery. The Lancia 037 helped Bel Paese clinch its only Group B victory in 1983, after a hard-fought rivalry with Audi. It's one of the few Group B cars that weren't AWD, achieving its success the old-fashioned way, through lightness and superb handling. A second Lancia, a 1986 Delta S4, was the culmination of the Italian firm's later Group B efforts and one of Saby's favorites. While Group B was no more in 1987, the S4 was the predecessor to the Delta Integrale that would dominate WRC from 1987 through 1992. While the collection also includes greats like a Ford RS200, Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, and MG Metro 6R4, the centerpiece is the Audi Quattro Sport S1. The ultimate Group B machine, it introduced all-wheel-drive and turbocharging to the sport. It also employed the wildest use of wings and air dams to generate downforce. Tunable up to 590 horsepower, it could rocket to 60 mph in about three seconds. The car offered for sale came straight from Ingolstadt, a 1988 model built for the Race of Champions of ex-Group B cars. The collection was amassed in the late 80s and early 90s, not long after Group B's dissolution.
Witness the Prologue to Audi's design future [w/videos]
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Audi went Hollywood for its debut of the forward-looking Prologue concept car last night, pulling the silks back at a sprawling LA manse in the hills. The cost-no-object unveiling of the car, as well as its prominent positioning at this year's LA Auto Show, speaks to the importance with which the company views the styling you see here.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, maharishi of development for the three-rings brand, made two important announcements at the presentation: reiterating publicly his endorsement of new styling chief Marc Lichte, and telling us that Prologue design will be found on upcoming production versions of the A6, A7 and A8.
Take a close look at that imposing face on the Prologue - an amped up revision of the single-frame shield grille that has appeared on new models like the TT already - and get used to it. Lichte called out the grille as the new face of the brand, so we fully expect its deployment across the range as the 2016 models roll out.
