NOTE: I have 7 videos of the car uploaded on YouTube but eBay won't allow me to list them in this description, please email me at iancu_b@yahoo.com or text me at 267-984-3579 and I will send you the links to them.

This was my wife's car, we bought it a bit over a year ago with 159,xxx miles and just turned 170,000.
The timing belt/water pump/thermostat/tensioners and rollers were replaced at 115,000 miles and will be due again at 220,000.
I replaced the valve cover gaskets, cam plugs, complete PCV system, injectors(4 holes updated red tops), fuel, air and pollen filter, spark plugs(NGK Iridiums good for 100,000 miles), a front axle, brakes, Interstate battery, vacuum lines, coolant flush, brake flush, transmission fluid and filter replaced, etc.
I swapped a complete two-tone Allroad interior including door panels with the rear window shades....original interior was brown, I didn't like that very much.
I also replaced front shocks, lower and upper control arms, I mounted an S4 thicker sway bar and end links, the rear sway bar is from a Sport model A6 with the V8 4.2.

The car was very reliable and dependable, we had zero issues with it.
Very safe (6 airbags) and fits a car seat in the back easily.
Baby stroller, pack'n'play, you name it....it fits. Back rest folds down to increase cargo space.
BOSE stereo, heated seats(front and rear), power everything.....this car was $46,000 in 1999, you get the idea.

Recently the transmission started making noise, it drives fine, has forward and reverse but sounds like a bad power steering pump. It shifts fine and does not slip yet but I do not recommend driving it.

If the transmission is still salvageable please consider towing it.

I drove it around the block to shoot some videos and once in a while I'll drive it a mile or two just to get the fluids running and charge the battery but I do not recommend driving it long distance. I did not take it on the highway nor do I recommend that.

The car has been pretty much sitting since winter, I bought an S6 Avant and an Allroad for my wife so needless to say we won't be fixing the A6 but rather part with it and move on.

The car had PA inspection until the end of February 2014 and (assuming the transmission doesn't quit completely or gets fixed) it will need a new windshield to pass again, current one did not survive this winter.
UnionAutoGlass quoted me $190 installed and they come to your house, other quotes were in the $200 range.

There are no warning lights on the dash, no check engine light and no codes in the systems.
The brakes are rusty from sitting and the headliner is starting to sag.

KBB for this car in FAIR condition is $3,393.....I have a whole lot more into the car and willing to take a reasonable loss on it.
You could part it out for twice as much money then my asking price, I have no space or time to do so plus I think it would be a shame, the car has a lot of life left in it.
The Allroad interior(seats and door panels) was close to $1,000 by itself, it's a lot of car for the money.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
The car can be seen in Port Richmond (19134) section of Philadelphia.
Thank you for reading this ad.
Best regards,
John

Recharge Wrap-up: Atieva making EV with former Tesla talent, Holland lowers PHEV incentives

Wed, May 13 2015

A reduction of tax incentives on company cars in Holland is expected to put the brakes on plug-in hybrid sales. Cars are taxed at an average of 25 percent, with plug-in hybrids taxed at just seven or 14 percent, depending on emissions. Taxes on PHEV company cars will increase to 14 and 21 percent. With company car leases making up a third of vehicle sales in 2014, the uptake on PHEVs "will likely go back to regular volumes," according to Volvo's Christiaan Krouwel. It could be a boon for battery electric cars, as their tax rate will remain at four percent for company cars. Read more at Automotive News Europe. Ford is testing cylinder deactivation in its 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine. On-road prototype testing has shown improvements in fuel economy of as much as six percent. Ford engineers developed a system using a new dual mass flywheel, pendulum absorber, and tuned clutch disc to allow cylinder deactivation under a wider range of speed and engine loads with less NVH. "The highest priority in the development of new combustion engines for automotive applications is the ongoing reduction of fuel consumption," says Ford's Andreas Schamel, presenting Ford's findings to the Vienna Motor Symposium. The Silicon Valley-based startup was founded in 2007 by a former Tesla vice president, and its roster includes 12 other former Tesla employees. Already well funded, Atieva is now looking to fill its ranks with more talent, with 32 engineering positions, two recruiter positions and other job openings posted at its website. As for the EV it is working on, Atieva says it is "redefining what a car can be, by building an iconic new vehicle from the ground up." Read more at Charged EVs. Testing shows that Joule ethanol, made from recycled CO2, meets standards for use in the US and Europe. In partnership with Audi, Joule has been working toward making its recycled CO2 fuels ready for commercialization. "We are pleased to achieve another critical step towards our planned near-term delivery of fuel-grade ethanol from recycled CO2," says Joule President and CEO Serge Tchuruk. "Using waste CO2 as a feedstock, our technology has the two-fold advantage of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and producing cost-competitive, drop-in fuels." Joule will use these test results to get government approval for the use of its ethanol in highway fuel.

2015 Audi Q3

Mon, Apr 13 2015

There are two ways to approach a brand-new segment in the auto industry. First, an automaker can take a gamble and introduce a completely new vehicle, catering to the specific demands of the marketplace(s) in question. In the compact, premium CUV segment, we've seen Buick do this with the Encore, and Mercedes-Benz with the GLA-Class. The other option is to introduce a vehicle already sold in another market. Considering the amount of time it takes to bring a new vehicle from paper to production, there is plenty to gain in the short-term with this approach. It's not without its downsides, though, as we found after a week behind the wheel of the 2015 Audi Q3, a vehicle that was initially launched in 2011. Cute though it may be – it was referred to at least once by a passerby during our testing as "totes adorbs" – Ingolstadt's decision to introduce a vehicle that's already been on sale for four years, and is effectively approaching the last half of its lifecycle, leaves the Q3 at a significant disadvantage relative to the newer competition. Despite crossing its first auto show stage four years ago, the Q3 remains a handsome little bugger. Audi's designs, while conservative, tend to age very well, and the compact Q3 is no exception. It's like a scaled-down Q5 in most respects, although certain design pieces, like its more aggressively raked rear window and shorter front and rear overhangs, belie the significantly smaller Q3's figure. Due to its age, the Q3 was, fortunately, designed before the current A3 hit the market. That means it avoids the unattractive, minimalist dash of the A3, opting for a more traditional Audi design, with a strip of brushed aluminum on the passenger's side, a user-friendly center stack and a suitably large nav screen front and center. While the overall layout is attractive, the material quality is not what we'd expect of a newer Audi. There's nothing that feels exceedingly cheap – the plastics just feel old and too familiar. It's difficult to describe, but as soon as you climb in the Q3, things like the switchgear for the HVAC controls immediately remind you that this is a vehicle that's been on sale since 2011. While our definition of interior quality has evolved over the years, our idea of a driver-friendly cabin has not. The Q3 scores highly in this regard, featuring the elevated seating position that makes CUVs so popular with the general public.

Audi bringing new TT Roadster to Paris

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

The TT may be first and foremost a coupe, but in presenting the third-generation model, Audi has toyed with all sorts of body-styles. There's been the prototypical coupe, of course, but also shooting brake and crossover concepts. The one thing it hasn't shown us is the convertible model, but that ends today as Audi takes the wraps off the new TT Roadster and TTS Roadster.
Set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month, the new TT Roadster naturally follows its fixed-roof counterpart's lead closely, but with the addition of a folding fabric roof mechanism. Made of magnesium, aluminum, steel and plastic, the mechanism weighs 6.6 pounds less than its predecessor's, helping keep the center of gravity lower. It also folds flatter to allow for more luggage space, and can deploy or retract in ten seconds at speeds up to 31 miles per hour. With the roof up it's also quieter, and with a drag coefficient of 0.30, Audi claims it's the slipperiest in the segment.
Of course, Audi's also worked to keep the weight down and rigidity up. As a result, the 0-62 sprint only takes an extra 0.2 seconds, quoted in the TTS Roadster at 4.9 seconds instead of 4.7 in the TTS coupe. Top speed remains pegged at 155 miles per hour. That, of course, is with the top-spec, 310-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four, but Audi will also offer the less potent 184-hp version as well as a 2.0-liter TDI, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed DCT, though specific performance figures for each version were not disclosed in the press release below.
