Selling my 2004 Audi A4 1.8TQ Ultrasport Avant.

It lived it's whole life in CA before making the trip to TX in September.

I have many of the records from the end of the Audi Warranty on. I suppose the others can be had by going to an Audi dealer? Not sure. The car was under an extended warranty after the original ran out. I have done a lot of maintenance and replacing of parts that it needed the past four mos, the car wasn't driven much after getting it home the first two. I have made a list of what has been done and anything still outstanding I can think of. I have included a link to a full set of recent pics, interior and exterior were a few weeks ago and under valve cover pics were two mos or so ago when doing the Valve Cover Gasket. These should reflect the shape it is in. I also did a walk around on 2/17/2014 pointing out the minor exterior stuff as well.

The car has some minor issues, and I will continue to update these as found or fixed since my memory is awful:

Small tear in the driver bolster. P.O. put electrical tape on it, I never removed to see how it is. May do so shortly.

After the bulk maintenance above car likes to throw a check engine code. This only happens when it is VERY cold out. Appears to be a faulty Coolant Temp Sensor since software reads coolant temp correctly and gauge does not in cold weather for the first few minutes. My understanding is that 1/2 of the 4 pins is to the ECU and the other to the cluster with the green top sensors. Have a sensor, have not had time to replace yet.

2015 Audi Q7 spotted with a blurry first look

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Here's the good news: we finally have visual evidence of the upcoming and all-new 2015 Audi Q7 luxury SUV. A set of photographs show that Audi has been putting the SUV through its paces, with an eye towards an on-sale date sometime late next year.
The bad news is that it was not one of our usual clear-lensed spy photographers that captured these first images, but rather a sycophantic follower of our friends at CarPix. The resulting images are a lot lower resolution than we've come to expect, and there are far fewer angles from which to judge the car.
Still, we can make out the nose of the new Q7 is a bit flatter and wider than the rounded affair of the current car, and wears similar swoopy LED headlights as are found in the rest of the Audi range. We expect the overall dimensions of the 2015 Q7 to stay about the same as the existing model, but rumor has it that the SUV could be 800 to 900 pounds lighter in the next generation.

2014 Audi A4 next car to go on big diet while adding features

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

The Audi A4 is expected to receive a major redesign over the next couple of years, and with the smaller A3 now gaining a sedan model, it is being reported that the A4 might be getting a little breathing room for a more advanced design and improved technology and features. According to AutoBild, this would include a drop of more than 200 pounds in curb weight, updated cabin tech and a wider variety of drivetrain options.
AutoBild states that Audi is looking to upgrade just about every detail - inside and out - when it comes to the 2014 Audi A4, and this includes a next-generation MMI system that uses two digital displays. Extensive use of magnesium, aluminum and plastics will help shave an estimated 220 pounds from the A4's curb weight, and in terms of engines, it sounds like the usual array of forced-induction, small-displacement gas and diesel engines will be on tap, but a bigger V6 TDI and a plug-in hybrid powertrain are also mentioned.

Audi builds 5-millionth vehicle with Quattro

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Quattro, the trademark name Audi has put on its all-wheel-drive system engineered for passenger vehicles, recently celebrated its five-millionth installation. The driveline has been offered in more than 140 different vehicles since its introduction more than three decades ago.
The all-wheel-drive technology made its world debut at the 1980 International Geneva Motor Show, beneath the floorpan of the Quattro Coupé, a low-volume two-door. It didn't take consumers long to embrace Audi's innovative approach. While most four-wheel-drive systems at that time utilized heavy transfer cases or second cardan shafts, Quattro was virtually tension-free, light, compact and efficient. Most importantly, enthusiasts found it was especially suitable for sports cars.
Today, the automaker offers Quattro on its full line of passenger vehicles and it is unquestionably successful (the technology enjoyed a 43 percent take rate in 2012). On models with transverse-mounted engines (A3 and TT), Audi uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch with hydraulic actuator. Under normal conditions, the clutch sends power almost exclusively to the front wheels (if wheel slippage occurs, up to 100 percent of the torque may be sent to the rear). Vehicles with transverse-mounted engines (A4, A5, Q5, etc...) use a self-locking center differential sending 40 percent of the engine torque to the front axle and 60 percent to the rear under normal conditions (it is able to send the majority of the power to the axle with better traction when needed). The highest-performing Quattro systems use torque vectoring to further improve cornering grip and speeds.
