Up for sale is a 2001 Audi A4 2.8 with 55k original miles on it that has some very expensive modifications done to it. It was purchased from a salvage auction, sight unseen, as a theft recovery. I expected it to only need light bodywork, and a new ignition. Unfortunately, it had a blown clutch/transmission when it arrived.

Car has a PA salvage title

The trans was pulled, and when pulled it was discovered that one of the mounting bolts on the block was broken. At that point, the shop that was doing the work and I had a falling out over another vehicle. I had both cars picked up, and that's where this car sits now. It needs the clutch (comes with a brand new clutch kit), flywheel (you need to get that), and the transmission put back in. It will also need downpipes/catalytic converters. The rest of the parts are all in the trunk.

Now the car has some very expensive modifications done to it. It has a PES supercharger kit installed on it that is practically brand new. That kit alone by itself is $4,000. It bumps the horsepower up to ~300hp. It also has a Bilstein cup kit suspension on it. Has brand new cross drilled and rotors all around (need to be cut not because they have rust from the car sitting), AWE drivetrain stabilizer, and a K&N air filter.

The interior is probably the nicest I've seen in any B5 series Audi in a long time. It is VERY nice. Nearly perfect.

The exterior is also very clean. It does have a hole in the driver door by the handle (how thieves steal these cars) and a damaged passenger fender (needs to be replaced, will post a pic later), but for a car that is a 2001, its really nice. The paint shines very well too.

THE CAR HAS SNOW TIRES/STEEL WHEELS ON IT NOW, THE ONES IN THE PICS ARE NOT AVAILABLE!

Basically this car has a ton of potential for the right buyer, or you can use it for parts on your own B5.

It is sold as-is, where is.

I know that is a lot to read and try and take in!  Please feel free to email/call/text me at 484-560-1136 with any questions or if you need clarification!  Thank you

The 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona: What we learned, what we saw

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

Two days after the flag dropped on the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, people are still trying to figure out what it might portend for the rest of the season. In 24 hours, two minutes and 24 seconds, 695 laps were completed by the car that crossed the line first. During that time, 67 cars began the race, 18 of them retired. There was that accident, and a red flag. There were supposedly slower classes beating supposedly faster classes. There were 16 caution periods, including that yellow flag. And then there was The Decision. And Then The Uproar. And then The Reversal.
There was also some pretty good racing, so let's have one last look at the weekend. Oh, and there was that 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO Series II...
If you want to skip the reading bits and go to the photos, there's a high-res gallery of 158 images above and a couple more below. Enjoy.

Audi S1 nearly ready to rocket euros out of your pocket

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Audi was out testing its upcoming S1 on the streets of Germany when our trusty spy photographers snapped the new, all-wheel-drive hot hatch that's set to succeed the limited-edition A1 Quattro.
Unlike the A1 Quattro, the S1 should sport a much less aggressive look overall. As shown in the spy shots, its wheel wells lack the meaty flairs of its predecessor while its rear wing is much more subdued. The wheels are more in line with what we expect from Audi's S models and its higher ride height is more conducive to common things like steep driveways and speed bumps that the 333-unit A1 Quattro might not encounter.
According to our spies, the S1 should hit the European market with anywhere from 220 to 250 horsepower, making it considerably more potent than competitors like the Ford Fiesta ST or Polo GTI from its parent company, Volkswagen (although it'll likely arrive at a considerably higher price than either of those pocket rockets). On the high end, that's roughly equal to the 252 ponies generated by the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four in the A1 Quattro

Trump reportedly says he wants to wipe German cars off the U.S. map

Thu, May 31 2018

BERLIN/FRANKFURT — A report that U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to pursue German carmakers until there are no Mercedes-Benz rolling down New York's Fifth Avenue dented shares in the luxury car manufacturers on Thursday. An excerpt from German magazine Wirtschaftswoche's article, which cited several unnamed European and U.S. diplomats but did not include any direct quotes, could not be independently verified, while a U.S. Embassy spokesman in Berlin referred questions to Washington. The news and current affairs magazine said Trump had told French President Emmanuel Macron in April that he aimed to push German carmakers out of the United States altogether. Macron's administration in Paris declined to comment on the report. The Trump administration last week opened a so-called Section 232 trade investigation into vehicle imports, which could result in a 25 percent tariff on cars on the same "national security" grounds Washington used to impose metals duties in March. This could destroy exports by German carmakers, which control 90 percent of the U.S. premium market and are the biggest European Union exporters of cars to the United States. BMW owns Rolls-Royce, while Daimler has Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen controls Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche and Audi. Daimler, BMW and Audi declined comment. Porsche was not immediately available for comment. BMW shares were trading 0.5 percent lower at 0939 GMT, while Daimler and VW's shares were down 1 percent and 1.6 percent respectively, underperforming Germany's blue-chip DAX. Trump has railed against German carmakers before. And in early 2017, in an interview with German newspaper Bild, he said he would impose 35 percent tariffs on imported cars. At the time, the president called Germany a great car producer but said that the business relationship with the United States was an unfair one-way street. Germany's auto industry association VDA says its members exported 657,000 vehicles to North America last year, with total exports of vehicle components, cars, engines, as well as second-hand vehicles totaling 31.2 billion euros in 2016. Imports from the United States to Germany amounted to 7.4 billion euros, meaning a trade deficit of 23.8 billion euros the VDA's latest available figures show. However, German brands also have huge factories in the United States, where they built 804,000 cars last year, VDA said, providing jobs for U.S. workers. Berlin has reacted angrily to the U.S.
