1998 Audi A4 Base Sedan 4-door 2.8l on 2040-cars
Greeley, Colorado, United States
When I purchased this vehicle, it had developed an oil leak. I immediately took it in and discovered that it was a little more then an oil leak. I replaced with new upper and lower oil pans and gaskets. Although it wasn't warranted when taking it in, I had replaced the timing belt and the water pump. The car now runs beautifully. The gas mileage is even better than it was before, which I find slightly strange, but it is 19 city and 31 highway. It has brand new all season radials and the brakes probably have 2,000 miles on them. The CV joint on the front left will eventually need replacing, but can be heard ever so slightly when turning a curb tightly and .accelerating. That is it. If you haven't one of these on the snow and ice, you will be totally impressed.
The car has no dings or dents, but does have a rear spoiler which was added by the previous owner, but looks like it belongs there. It has a 6 disk CD player in the trunk, the stereo is Bose, and everything is original. The air is cold and the heat is hot. When having this checked over recently I have been told it runs rock sold and with proper maintenance will easily last another 140 - 150K with ease. I had purchased the vehicle locally, who had owned the car since 2012. The car originated in Ohio and the CARFAX (is available) details this, coupled with regular maintenance, throughout its' life. It's options which all work beautifully, are available for viewing at audiforums com then "/" type "forum" then "/" then type: "vindecoder.php?vin=WAUED28D6WA180890":. This gives the standard and option detail on the car when it came from the factory. The car is located in Colorado and will deliver if east of the Rocky Mountain front range, south as far as Lamar, north as far as Cheyenne, or Sterling and of course Denver, Co Springs, Pueblo or Boulder Fort Collins areas. If outside this area, you will need to either come and get it, or arrange for transport at your cost. If within the area the delivery will be free of charge. Once the items have been approved by both the buyer and seller, EFT into my bank account, or certified funds may be deposited into my Chase Bank account. The account number and details may be worked out once the aforementioned items are complete. I haven't complete it as yet, but intend of having it detailed, before delivery is made. |

First impressions of Audi's next TT interior and Virtual Cockpit [w/video]
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Not content to pummel CES show goers with laser lights and self-piloting vehicles, Audi has also pulled the wraps (well, some of the wraps) off the interior of its upcoming next-gen TT. While the car itself wasn't on hand for us to check out, Audi did mock up the cockpit, complete with its all-new Virtual Cockpit central display and the latest iteration of the company's Multi Media Interface (MMI).
Virtual Display is Audi's new brand name for a completely digital reinterpretation of the instrument binnacle, by way of a 12.3-inch TFT screen. Audi tells us that there are two operable modes for Virtual Display: in the standard mode, an average-sized tachometer and speedometer flank a smaller infotainment portion in the center. Infotainment mode, meanwhile, shrinks the gauges to discreet circles and allows the navigation map, audio controls, or whichever system is being operated by the driver, to fill the remaining screen real estate.
This design, says Audi, allowed engineers to slim down the size of the center console as a whole, without reducing function for the driver. We can say that it looks very impressive as a demonstrator, but we will need some time with it in a moving vehicle before we're convinced it isn't slightly more distracting that a traditional setup.
2014 Audi SQ5 priced from $51,900* [w/video]
Mon, 17 Jun 2013Despite the fact that the 2014 Audi SQ5 you see here is quite a bit different than the one offered in Europe, we're still plenty glad that the folks from Ingolstadt have decided to offer a hotted-up version of its compact Q5 crossover here in the States. Now, Audi has announced that its US-spec SQ5 will be priced from $51,900 when it hits dealerships later this summer (*not including $895 for destination). That strikes us as a pretty favorable price - while the base Q5 in 2.0-liter TFSI trim starts at $35,900, the 3.0-liter Prestige model commands a full $51,400, and somehow manages to feel worth it.
We already enjoy driving the Q5 in its standard tune, and this SQ5 looks to be quite an entertaining thing. Audi has tuned its 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to produce 354 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque - gains of 82 hp and 52 lb-ft over the standard 3.0L Q5. No, it's not the awesome 313 hp and 479 lb-ft of the twin-turbo-diesel engine used in Europe, but our American SQ5 will certainly be a quick little thing. Audi is estimating a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds, on its way to a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour.
Like all S models, the SQ5 will be a bit different visually than its basic Q5 kin. Aluminum roof rails are standard, as are 20-inch wheels (21s are available). There are revised bumpers at the front and rear, with Audi's usual gray grille and diffuser, as well as aluminum mirror caps. Inside, leather- and Alcantara-clad sport seats are standard, though buyers can opt for a fine Nappa leather setup. Audi says that new aluminum/black wood inlays are also available, as is a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Watch this Audi RS6 go 208 mph... on ice
Fri, 15 Mar 2013In and effort to promote the high-speed grip of its new Hakkapeliitta 8 winter tire, Nokian threw a set of its new rubber on a race-prepped Audi RS6 and got moving - very, very quickly. In fact, on March 9 on top of the very frozen Gulf of Bothinia near Oulu, Finland, Nokian's test driver Janne Laitinen set a new world record for the fastest speed recorded driving on ice. If you'll recall, this isn't the first time that Audi and Nokian have played this game, either.
Using the guidelines set forth by the Guinness Book of World Records for such things, Laitinen averaged 208.602 miles per hour (335.713 kilometers per hour) over the course of two runs on natural, untreated ice. Another constraint is that the ice speed record must be done using commercial available tires, which is obviously great PR for the new Hakkapeliitas. The press release doesn't make any mention of how the RS6 was prepared to reach such high velocities, but the images of the car make it clear that this is no stock machine. Scroll on below to see the impressive video evidence of the Audi's record run.
