Waterford, Michigan, United States
2006 Audi A3 S3 S-Line RARE 3.2L AWD Quattro VERY RARE 3.2L ENGINE ONLY 500 AVAILABLE FOR US MARKET Up for sale is my baby! I love the car and hate to sell it but time to upgrade to something a bit bigger. It’s a 2006 Audi A3 Sline S3 • 3.2L V6 engine • Quattro AWD • RARE Only made about 500 of these for the US market (very rare) • These were the only way to get an a3 that was Quattro awd • Panoramic Roof • 180k Highway Miles, Meticulously maintained, my wife will tell you I take better care of this car than I do of her! • Automatic transmission DSG Twin clutch for manual style shifting • It lets you shift faster than manual when you want (with 98% of drivers anyway) • LOADED! Heated seats, power everything • Hatchback so lots of room to put whatever you need in back. • Fold down sunshade for hatch • Super clean inside and out • Tinted windows This has been my daily driver for many years. It is one of my absolutely favorite cars. It has everything you could want out of a car. Its clean runs great, and very reliable. It has all the power you will ever need. Small car but big enough to do whatever you need. It’s Quattro so its good in the snow. Great gas millage I get OVER 20 mpg city driving even better one highway. What more can you ask for? Plus its luxury has all the bells and whistles you want too. I usually just drive it with automatic trans but it has the option to control it manually if you want. You can also drop it down into “sport mode” to really unlock this beast. That 3.2L is a big motor with a lot of power for the size of this car. These cars are very rare and hard to find if it had less miles I would be asking thousands more. I would like to keep it but have a growing family so its time to upgrade to something bigger. Wife is making me its not my choice, if it was up to me I would keep it forever when I die I’d bury it next to me. These care as just amazing vehicles and I should know I have had quite a collection over the years from classics to super cars. I have included lots of pictures every different angle I could think of front back inside outside under hood in truck you name it. If there is anything I forgot or anything you want to see just let me know I can get you more pictures and answer any questions you might have about it. There are some scuffs on driver side front I went in to the grocery store and when I came out someone had bumped it pulling It I out. Its not that bad you can see it in the pictures nothing major just thought I would mention it also little wear on the headrest in the driver seat over all I would rate it 9 out of 10 on conditions nothing you wouldn’t expect on a 2006 car. Tires are still good plenty of tread left, I did the breaks not to long ago. I also had a specialist give the car a once over and do the maintenance about 20k miles ago. You shouldn't need to do anything to this car but drive it she’s ready to go on a road trip anywhere. If you flew in from California you should have no problems jumping it and driving all the way back if you wanted to I have that much faith in this car. Tried to let you know everything wrong with her I can think of so there are no surprises for you. If you can, I recommend coming out to see it before you make an offer so you know exactly what your getting. If not please call me or send me a message here on eBay I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about the car. You can call or text me at 248-747-2196. PICTURES: |

Audi CEO says brand's EVs are almost as profitable as its other cars
Mon, Oct 4 2021After, oh, a hundred years or so of building vehicles primarily powered by internal combustion engines, automakers around the world have been and still are pumping billions of dollars into the development of electric vehicle technology. Everything from platforms and batteries to motors and the software to control it all requires untold hours of development, and that takes time and money. Fortunately, it's not going to take long for that massive investment to start paying off, at least according to Audi CEO Markus Duesmann, who told Reuters in an interview that "The point where we earn as much money with electric cars as with combustion engine cars is now, or ... next year, 2023. They are very even now, the prices." As a brand, Audi contributed more than a quarter of overall profit for the massive Volkswagen Group, which has such powerhouse brands as Volkswagen and Porsche among others. Under the Audi umbrella are Lamborghini, Bentley and Ducati, and it seems those high-end branches aren't going anywhere, at least for now. "These brands ... are very valuable very profitable brands, where we can even expand the synergy level in the future," Duesmann said in the interview. "There are no plans whatsoever to get rid of them." Despite the overall profitability of the brand, the ongoing global chip crisis is causing headaches. "We had a very strong first half in 2021. We do expect a much weaker second half," said Duesmann, who added, "We really have trouble." In fact, so serious is the trouble that the brand is forced into "a day-to-day troubleshooting process" to limit the chip-shortage damage. The good news for the automaker is that Audi has been able to boost its profit margin from 8% prior to the pandemic in 2019 to 10.7% in the first half of 2021. The bad news is that various chip shortages aren't expected to get a whole lot better over the rest of the year. Related video:

Audi 3D-printed this tiny Type C racer, we want to drive it
Thu, Nov 5 2015See this little guy? No, not the one driving – that's Professor Hubert Waltl, Audi's head of production and Volkswagen's chief toolmaker. The thing he's driving, though, is a 1:2 scale replica of the 1936 Auto Union Type C. And it was 3D-printed entirely in house. Not in one piece, mind you. It's too big for that. But the Audi Toolmaking division employed metal printing technology to fabricate all the parts that went into this replica of one of the most dominant of the Silver Arrow grand prix racers of the pre-war era. It's essentially like the pedal car Audi rolled out nine years ago, or the E-Tron concept it showed us nearly five years ago. Only this one uses more advanced manufacturing techniques. Aside from making us want to drive it like nobody's business, the half-sized vehicle serves to showcase the advancements which Audi and the VW Group are making in manufacturing – particularly in the area of 3D printing. The German automaker presently has the technology to print laser-melted layers of metallic powder – either steel or aluminum – with grains measuring half the diameter of a human hair. The equipment can handle objects as large as 7.9 inches high by 9.5 inches wide – which, as small as this little car looks, is still a bit too large to simply print out in one piece. Audi Toolmaking prints "Auto Union Typ C" - Exact model of the "Silver Arrow" from a 3D printer - Audi Board of Management Member for Production Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl: "This underscores our pioneering role in toolmaking." From powder to a component: With a 3D printer, Audi Toolmaking has produced a model of the historical Grand Prix sports car "Auto Union Typ C" from the year 1936. The company is now examining further possible applications of metal printers for the production of complex components. At the same time, Audi is creating important synergies with toolmaking in other parts of the Volkswagen Group. "We are pushing forward with new manufacturing technologies at Audi Toolmaking and at the Volkswagen Group," stated Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl, Audi's Board of Management Member for Production and Head of Toolmaking at the Volkswagen Group. "Together with partners in the area of research, we are constantly exploring the boundaries of new processes. One of our goals is to apply metal printers in series production." The Volkswagen Group has a total of 14 toolmaking units in nine countries. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr.
