Your chance to own a truly unique vehicle!

All pictures are of actual vehicle being sold

I'm selling my beautiful 2007 V8 Vantage after years of trouble-free ownership only because I placed an order through my dealer for a brand new 2015 model and I just got word from them that they are going to build it in July.

The car is Factory Assured by Aston Martin and is being sold with a FULL 1-yr Premium Aston Martin Warranty. Financing is available from my dealer as a favor to me for being a valued customer.

There is much more information than I can cram into this ad, so I created a beautiful website that has all the details you would ever want to know. Please go here to check it out if interested: Vantage 4 Sale or visiting http://karlfranz.com/vantage4sale.

Car is located in Florida. Serious buyers only please.

Included Options

Ordering a new Vantage usually involves sitting down with the sales person and going through the laundry list of options that can be added to your car. The items in this list do surprise some that expect such an expensive vehicle to come fully loaded. However, in the world of exotic cars, it seems that everything is optional and prices can escalate quickly. The other part that is overwhelming is the multitude of color choices for every single surface of the car. Some are a bit adventurous when it comes to these choices, but the reality is that most people expect an Aston Martin to be Gray, Silver or Black. Due to this, the majority of cars come in one of those shades. Below are the options included when this car was ordered.

  • 6-Speed Manual Gearbox
  • 700W Premium Audio
  • 2-Stage heated seats
  • Red brake calipers
  • Bright finish grille
  • HID self-leveling headlights
  • Owner's manual
  • Toolkit
  • Tire Inflator kit
  • 2 Key fobs and 3 keys

Additional Upgrades

Owners usually spend thousands of dollars after their purchase of a Vantage in order to add many of the popular factory upgrades that update the look of the car. Many of these upgrades are items that were introduced for later model years and Aston Martin made them available for earlier models. Some other upgrades are unique and not available on any other vehicle. When comparing sale prices please note this car already has most of the popular upgrades that you would spend thousands of dollars adding to another car after purchase. And, since they are already installed, they can be included in the financing. This means you don't have to come up with extra cash to purchase and install these later and you can enjoy an updated vehicle from day one.

  • Diamond-quilted Alcantara interior
  • Clear taillights
  • Sport Pack wheels
  • N400/N420 side sills
  • Black chrome N420 sport exhaust tips
  • Homelink GDO and auto-dim mirror
  • Dension iPod integration kit w/ Bluetooth
  • Tinted windows
  • New Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
  • Porterfield R4-S brake pads
  • RSC high flow air filters

Exterior

The exterior features many of the most desirable upgrades for a Vantage including the beautiful Sport Pack wheels, clear tail lights, and N420 side sills. It is painted in a beautiful Tungsten Silver which is, arguably, the most popular color for a modern-day Aston Martin. Tungsten is a beautiful medium gray metallic which so much metal flake that it’s almost as if a jar of glitter had been spilt on the car prior to applying the clear coat. So why does the car appear blue in the pictures? Because the car has been meticulously wrapped in 3M Scotchprint 1080 Matte Metallic Blue film. I did this just for fun to display the car at the Celebration Exotic Car Show for which I am a concours judge every year. The show is a charity event to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation, and the children really love to see wild and exotic cars.

A wrap job like this usually costs approximately $5,000-7,500 as it is very labor intensive. It requires bumpers, lights and other items to be removed so you can properly cover all seams and surfaces. This includes the door sills and jambs which continue the illusion that the car is truly painted this color. As a side-benefit, the film protects the gorgeous paint underneath from fading and (to a lesser degree) chipping/road rash. It also makes washing the car incredible easy as most dirt can be simply wiped off with a soft microfiber towel and some matte detailing spray.

I have left the film on because so many people like the way it looks. It does make the car stand out and this can be a good or bad thing depending on how much attention you want your car to draw. So, I’m leaving it to the buyer whether they would prefer the matte blue film on or off. Upon purchase you have the choice to have me remove the film for free or keep it and remove it later yourself. I will be glad to provide you with instruction on how to properly remove the film if you choose to this yourself at a later time. I can also provide excess film material in the event a surface needs to be redone for any reason.

Interior

Many pictures of Vantages for sale on the Internet tend to not showcase the true condition of the vehicle. It is not uncommon for someone to be interested in a vehicle and, after looking at fabulous pictures, makes a trip to the seller or dealership only to find that the car is not how the pictures represented it. They find scratches on the seats, door panels, leather that is shrinking and pulling from having the car sitting in the sun all day, broken plastic pieces, missing or scratched stereo controls, paint chips in the door pulls, worn seat belts, etc. I guarantee you that you won’t find any of these in my car. People who have seen the interior usually guess that it has less than 5,000 miles. I'm often told that it even smells new (although I must admit that I must have become accustomed to it as I don’t notice it anymore). Overall, I think you will find that this is a very nice example that has been fastidiously cared-for by someone who respects the car, follows the factory-prescribed maintenance schedule and keeps his car garaged in a climate-controlled environment except when it is actually being driven.

Most Aston Martins are ordered with "safe" interior colors. These are colors that dealers have chosen so as to increase the likelihood of a sale by appealing the the largest demographic. This explains why the majority of Vantages for sale have a monotone Obsidian Black leather interior. Unfortunately, "safe" usually translates to "boring". Not this one. The black interior has been complemented by hints of navy blue Alcantara that is both luxurious and soft to the touch. Door cards and the center armrest have the added feature of being padded in a diamond quilt stitch pattern. This beautiful synthetic suede is used only on high end vehicles and racecars due to its high cost compared to other materials (over $150/yard.) The standard Aston Martin interior takes approximately 70 hours of manual labor to create. With this car, however, it took considerably more.

Reliability and Maintenance

Well Maintained

I have full and extremely detailed history of the car that I am willing to provide the buyer. This includes services done by the previous owner. (I'm the second owner and bought the car with ~9K miles.) Service has been done by my local Aston Martin dealer's service department. Their tech, was chosen last year as the number one Master Technician in North America. If you are considering this car amongst other examples, I can put you in contact with him or anyone else at the dealership to get a feel for how good a condition this car is in. You won't be disappointed.

Reliable

As the maintenance records of this car will show, this car has been extremely reliable. The only work that has been done to it were for service bulletins issued by Aston Martin. These services were:

  • Difficulty shifting from 1st to 2nd gear when gearbox was cold. Bulletin #0236
  • Door lock modules would not always lock doors from key fob. Bulletin #0304V2
  • Cam belt cover oil leak. Bulletin #0280V2

These tasks were done by the dealership under warranty; the same warranty that comes included with this car now. Make sure that any car you consider has had these service bulletins done as they can be expensive if done otherwise.

Please note that this car was not subject to the throttle pedal recall that affected some later 2007 and newer models.

Driven, but not Abused

If you spend any time on any of the online forums you will quickly learn that a low-mileage "garage queen" is not the ideal car it would appear to be at first glance. Cars like these are meant to be driven and reward you with much higher reliability when you do so. My car has mileage that I would consider “adequate but not excessive”. It has never been drag-raced or used on a race track.

Purchasing Info

Full Factory Warranty

It is rather unusual to see a privately sold car come with a warranty. However, this one will come with record of a full 140-point inspection and a full 1-year Aston Martin Premium Warranty included in the sale price. This alone is worth thousands of dollars. The warranty goes into effect on the day of purchase which means you get an entire year, not just a few months left over. The buyer also has the option to buy additional years for an additional cost. This is the same warranty offered on brand new vehicles, not some 3rd party after-market policy, which means that most things (outside of wear-and-tear items) are fully covered including roadside assistance.

Note: It's worth mentioning that most modern-day Aston Martins are very reliable. However, there is an extra sense of peace of mind in knowing that you are covered in the event of an unexpected repair.

Financing and other Purchase Services

Although the car is being sold privately, The dealership will facilitate your purchase as a favor to me for being a valued customer. They will help you take care of the paperwork, collect/pay sales tax, handle the title application, issue a temporary tag, arrange for financing, take in a trade, and even arrange for transport. This will help ease any issues usually involved with an individual sale since they have experts on staff who handle these kinds of transactions literally on a daily basis. Of course if you can/wish to make a cash purchase, that is an option as well. Payment can be made by certified manager's check.

Other Details

If you are seriously in the market for a Vantage, I think you will be hard-pressed to find a finer example than this. When comparison shopping on the Internet, please keep in mind that it is sometimes difficult to judge one car's worth versus another. I think that when you take into consideration its history, maintenance, overall condition, full factory-backed warranty, available financing, ample references and thousands of dollars invested in the most desirable upgrades, you will find this is a very good deal indeed.

Aston Martin building 28 Goldfinger DB5 reproductions — complete with gadgets

Mon, Aug 20 2018

The Lego iteration of the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 featured in the James Bond movie "Goldfinger" is a pretty cool toy for any Bond fan, what with its full suite of movie gadgetry. But for the well-heeled 007 fan, Aston Martin has something even more special in store. The car company announced that it will build a grand total of 28 full-size reproductions of the famous movie sports car. It won't simply be a DB5 in the correct color, either. The company is teaming up with the special effects supervisor from the most recent James Bond films, a man who, according to IMDb, has been working on Bond movies at some level since " The Spy Who Loved Me" and was the special-effects supervisor on the the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and the two latest numbered installments of the " Star Wars" series, to build the cars with "functioning gadgets such as revolving number plates and more." The "and more" part has us particularly intrigued. We imagine the tracking computer and bulletproof shield are simple enough. But the hideaway machine guns and ejector seat might be tricky. Regardless, you won't be able to deploy any of the gadgets on public roads, as Aston Martin explicitly states the cars won't be street legal. We're sure that won't keep Aston from finding buyers for these dream DB5s. The price tag probably won't deter serious buyers, either. The company says each car will sell for 2,750,000 pounds, which comes to $3,510,000 at current exchange rates. Of the 28 cars, 25 will be sold directly to customers. The remaining three will include one for Aston Martin, one for EON Productions, the company that produces Bond movies, and one that will auctioned for charity. Aston estimates the first cars will be delivered in 2020. Aston Martin Vulcan being converted to road-going spec

Thu, Apr 21 2016

The Aston Martin Vulcan wasn't designed as a road-going vehicle, but the two dozen buyers who've plonked down the $2.3 million to buy one may soon be able to drive on public roadways. According to Autocar, British motorsports engineering company RML is preparing a road conversion option for the Vulcan, apparently with Aston's blessing. The process will reportedly involve testing the engine for emissions, mounting some new lights, and running simulated crash tests. The ride height will likely need to be raised and the gear ratios altered, but nothing will be done to compromise the vehicle's trackability (such as removing any part of the roll cage). The undertaking is expected to cost six figures, which buy another road-going Aston but is hardly a drop in the bucket relative to the Vulcan's purchase price. Certification on a single vehicle type basis might not be feasible in all markets, particularly here in the United States, where two out of the 24 being made are said to reside. "When we went to market, there was hesitation from a few prospective owners because it didn't have a road pack... but RML said they had the ability to do it," Aston Martin chief Andy Palmer told Autocar. "It has taken a bit of time to work out what's possible from an engineering perspective, but we expect four or five owners will take advantage of this. We have the sales of the last two cars currently under negotiation and it looks like the road conversion could be the closer on those deals." The Vulcan is Aston's take on the likes of the Ferrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR: a seven-figure supercar designed neither for the road nor for racing, but just for their owners' enjoyment. Like its rivals, Aston Martin organizes special track days for Vulcan owners as part of a complete program, but unlike those mid-engined hybrids, the Vulcan is naturally aspirated, with its engine up front. Lanzante previously announced a similar road conversion option for the McLaren. RML's expertise lies principally in constructing racing cars – particularly touring cars. It previously collaborated with Aston Martin on the AMR1 Group C racer from 1989 (not to be confused with the later LMP1 prototype). It has also undertaken a number of road-car projects, particularly for Nissan (where Palmer used to work), developing such unique concepts as the Micra R, Juke-R and Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato expected to fetch over $16M

Tue, Oct 13 2015

Classic car collectors will want to head to New York on December 10. That's where RM Sotheby's will be holding its Driven by Disruption sale, with some of the most desirable pieces of automotive history on the docket. And arguably the most tempting of them is the 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato pictured here. The start of a long and distinguished partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato, the DB4 GT is considered by many (ourselves included) to be one of the most beautiful automobiles ever made. You can judge for yourself after looking over the images in the gallery above. Only 19 were originally made, of which this, the 14th example, was the only one delivered new to Australia. After undergoing a complete restoration in 2002, chassis number DB4GT/0186/R won first-in-class awards at both Pebble Beach and Villa d'Este. RM hasn't published pre-sale estimates for how much it expects to get for this one, but in correspondence with Autoblog, a spokesperson for the auction house revealed that "it is expected to fetch in excess of $16 million USD when it crosses the podium in December." That would eclipse by order of magnitude the prices fetched at auction for previous examples in recent years, which (according to the records at Sports Car Market) have traded hands for around $2.5 million. Of course, the Aston isn't the only classic automobile consigned for the event. With two months still to go before the auction takes place, RM has confirmed a 1955 Siata 208S Spider that's expected to fetch upwards of $1.5 million, a '53 Ferrari 250 Europa (~$4 million), and a '38 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante (>$2 million). Fans of more modern and rare equipment, however, may be more enticed by the Lamborghini Concept S previously announced for the auction, expected to go for as much as $3 million.
