2001 Aston Martin Db7 Vantage Volante Convertible 2-door 6.0l on 2040-cars
Carlsbad, California, United States
Meticulously maintained, everything possible to make this a fast, reliable Land Jet has been done. It Looks, Sounds, and Performs as It Should. A push of the Start Button instantly brings this magnificent V12 to Life. I have all service records from the time it was delivered New. I am the third owner however; I'm responsible for the majority of mileage (35,000) and owned it the longest (8 years). Many New Parts (Within last 3,000 miles) including Front bushings, gaskets, brake pads, rotors, seals, hoses, lines, plugs, coils, wiring harness to coils, fuel pumps (both), Engine mounts, U joints, cables, power steering pump and Master Brake Cylinder, Front P Zero Tires, etc. to make this Aston drive like new. This speedometer may indicate 50,000 miles however; I have spent in excess of $30,000 in the last 2.5 years to freshen the mechanical. DB7 Ive owned many exotic cars in my life; however this Aston is the whole package. You can drive it like a Go Kart or an Autobahn Grand Tourer (GT). It will chauffer you when you feel like cruising and comes to life when you shift into Sport mode. Understated Elegance. Even Ferrari struggles to match the prestige and exclusivity associated with Aston. This car gets Respect and Admiration from Everyone, Children and Adults from all walks of life view this as a Dream Car. Its look is Timeless and will be admired indefinitely. It turns heads for the right reasons. Unlike brasher supercars or more showy sports cars, the DB7 oozes class, its unmistakable style indicating you as a person with exquisite taste. The big 6.0-litre V12, when mated to the smooth five-speed automatic transmission, makes the DB7 a relaxed cruiser, with the potential to turn into Ballistic Racer when called upon. Minor issues: tiny scuff on lower right side passenger door. Leather on top of instrument cluster tightened. Most of leather is perfect and better that you would expect. Air bag indicator light illuminated (goes on and off). AC has new blower fan however, still blows weak, Chin rash under front nose from driveways. Looks Very Well Maintained in many respects looks like new. I welcome and strongly suggest a Pre-Buy inspection of the vehicle here in Carlsbad California. I will be happy to arrange for access to the vehicle at any time during the Auction. Please call me with any questions you have at 760-500-2388 or email me at doctorborkin@gmail.com My Mechanic is available to describe the incredible maintenance of this Aston Martin. Good Luck with the Auction. Owners of the DB7 Praise the car. Petrolicious shows a 1977 Aston Martin V8 shared by a father and son
Wed, Apr 15 2015Beyond a knack for great cinematography and skilled sound mixing, Petrolicious has a sixth sense for finding beautiful classic cars that bring families together. This time, it has turned the focus on a 1977 Aston Martin V8 that started as a son's ratty ride in high school and was later wonderfully restored by his dad. Paul Kitchen grew being surrounded by his dad, Jonathan's, classic cars, and eventually wanted to get one of his own. Paul first looked at a Chevrolet Chevelle, but Jonathan pointed his son towards an Aston Martin. Now, the two of them share this beautiful V8. The real highlight of this clip is watching this wonderful coupe snake over some wet roads over the burble of its V8. While the car's overall design was clearly European, Aston's stylists definitely had a look at some American muscle cars before picking up their pens. The result was a sublime blend of James Bond and Bullitt.
Aston may build fewer than 100 Lagonda super saloons
Sat, Jun 21 2014Aston Martin has owned the Lagonda nameplate since the late '40s, but in the roughly 70 years since that acquisition, the use of the name has been kept largely exclusive for four-door models. The two most famous modern Lagondas are the angular, futuristic sedan built in the '70s and '80s and the infamously ugly SUV concept from the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. UK magazine Car claims that the classic name could make its return on a svelte four-door as soon as this summer, which makes sense considering our spy shooters recently caught what looked like a modernized incarnation of the 70s super saloon last month. Interestingly, while Aston Martins are rare birds as-is, Car says that the neo-Lagonda could be even more scarce its sources suggest that the model could be limited to under 100 units. That's because Aston Martin's Q customization service is reportedly taking up construction duties for the project, and with its small team, that means production is going to be slow, limited and very expensive. Even covered in camo as spied above, there's something special about the new car. The squinting headlights and thin A-pillar echo the '80s model in a modern way and make this four-door look a lot sportier than the Bentley, Maserati and Rolls-Royce models that it will likely compete against. It's rumored to be using composite body panels to keep weight down. The powertrain is said to be an evolution of the Rapide, Aston's sole existing four-door model. The Lagonda would use Aston Martin's 5.9-liter V12 with power tuned to around 600 horsepower, backed by an eight-speed automatic replacing the Rapide's elderly six-speed unit. That would put power just short of an Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, but the composite panels could lend it a weight advantage. The latest rumor only indicates the Lagonda's unveiling sometime later this summer, with no exact date or location. Still given the relative completeness of the test car, it doesn't look like it could be too far away. We can't wait to see it when the camo comes off.
Bathurst 12-hour gallery is GT3 heaven [w/video]
Mon, Feb 9 2015The 2015 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour race was run this weekend at the Mt. Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, Australia. Race photographer Joel Strickland sent us a huge batch of photos, all of which make us salivate for the switch to GT3 rules in the United SportsCar Championship; the top seven finishers at Bathurst were of seven different makes: Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, Audi R8-LMS Ultra, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Bentley Continental GT3, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, Ferrari F458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo. It was a sweet victory for the No. 35 car driven by the NISMO Athlete Global Team after it crashed in Saturday qualifying, and then was only in third place on the penultimate lap. The three-man driving team included two GT Academy winners, one of whom, Florian Strauss, has only been a professional race car driver for 18 months. It's the first time the GT-R has won at Panorama since the original R32 "Godzilla" took back-to-back wins in 1991 and 1992. Second place went to the No. 15 Phoenix Racing Audi R8-LMS Ultra, 2.4 seconds behind the winners, third to the Craft Bamboo Racing Aston Martin Vantage not even half a second behind the Audi. The Bentley Motorsport team, in its first Bathurst 12-Hour with two cars, had its No. 10 Continental GT3 in the lead until the penultimate lap and in second place until the final corner, but crossed the line in fourth after some rubbin'-is-racin' action from chasers. And if pictures aren't enough, as of writing you can still watch the live stream of the entire race at the Bathurst 12-Hour site. Or, if you don't have the time, at least be sure to check out the last five minutes, below. Enjoy.
