2000 Aston Martin Vantage Volante in truly excellent mechanical and aesthetic shape with 17,201 miles (as of ad
listing). All factory options including single resonator, factory exhaust (sounds great), and the full size
spare.
Not a better used DB7 Volante on the market…this car is completely up to date with servicing. All known DB7 V12
items have been addressed:
- New coil packs (all of them) and correct plugs
- New valve cover and induction system gaskets. All parts were refinished and color-matched at the time of service
and look perfect. You will not find ones that are color-matched or are in this shape. Also, coil pack cover
plates were ceramic coated to reduce heat.
- New fuel rail gaskets. Fuel rails were polished.
- New complete vacuum harness…not partial but the entire plug and play assembly
- New fuel pumps
- New accessory belts
- New power steering hose
- New top mount bushings
- Power steering reservoir lid modification
- New tires ft and rr
- New engine oil / factory filter (less than 400 miles). Correct 0-40 Mobil 1
- New refrigerant and lines. A/C is excellent.
Good luck finding one of these that has had this much servicing…particularly at the low mileage level as this
one. I am very familiar with these cars and the V12 model’s needs and shortcomings. I bought this car for my
wife and did not want a single issue when she used it. The items I have tended to would cost a small fortune and
most used DB7’s need some of all of them.
Condition of paint, interior leather surfaces (driver’s bolster and dash surfaces included), soft top, trim and
glass are excellent with near no wear. Flaws on the car would include:
- Some scratches / paint chips on rear wheel outer lip edge (has been touched up in correct metallic silver).
- Passenger air-bag light has a mind of its own and will come on and go off sporadically.

$1.3B worth of classic cars were auctioned in 2014
Sat, Dec 27 2014The collector auto market in the US just continues to expand with the values of vehicles seemingly only growing in the past years, especially if they have a prancing horse on the hood. This year was no different. According to data compiled by classic car insurance agency Hagerty, there were about $1.3 billion worth of vintage rides auctioned in North America in 2014, up just slightly from $1.2 billion crossing the block in 2013. If you want an idea of just how big a role the Monterey Car Week plays in the North American collector hobby, Hagerty's stats illustrate it perfectly. The company recorded $430 million in auction sales during the week – about a third of the entire market for the year. The event also hosted the biggest seller of 2014 when the hammer fell on a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO (pictured above) for $38.115 million at Bonhams. In fact, vintage Ferraris in general were among the top buys in the classic auto world in 2014. Eight of the ten most expensive vehicles sold at auction were Prancing Horses (the other two were Ford GT40s). Also, the insurance company's price index for these Italian stallions showed a 43-percent gain in value for the year. The market for another Italian supercar is exploding, as well. The Lamborghini Countach showed a staggering 175-percent growth in auction value in 2014. According to Hagerty, the average price when they crossed the block was $736,599. Judging by Hagerty's numbers, there were still some places to look for those hoping to spend a bit less money. The Aston Martin Lagonda showed a strong gain in value with a 32-percent increase in auction price, but they still averaged $47,078. In addition, the company's index for '50s American cars showed only one-percent growth for these classics. These huge leaps in collector car value might be winding down, according to Hagerty. It predicts growth in the market to slow to an estimated five percent gain in 2015. Maybe a few of these classics might actually become a bit more affordable to fans without such deep pockets sometime in the future. Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG formalize technical partnership
Thu, 19 Dec 2013The development of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin has been a long time coming. The news dates back to 2008, and over the five years since was supposed to lead to a rejuvenation of both the Maybach and Lagonda brands. That program ultimately fell apart, but the tie-in was forged afresh in July when the two automakers signed a letter of intent over a renewed partnership. And now that partnership has been formalized.
In a deal just announced, Mercedes-AMG will build a new V8 engine for Aston Martin that will power a new generation of luxury GTs for the British marque, presumably to replace the 4.7-liter V8 in the Vantage. The relationship appears to be similar to the one already in place between AMG and Pagani, only in this case, will involve Daimler taking as much as a five-percent stake in Aston Martin and an observer seat on Aston's board.
The technical partnership is also set to lead to the supply of electric and electronic systems, and could incorporate "additional areas of cooperation in the future." Whether that will include a fresh attempt at reviving Lagonda remains to be seen, as does the future of Aston's long-serving, Ford-based 6.0-liter V12 engine. But for now you can read the full announcement below.
Aston Martin 'likes the idea of Adrian Newey doing a road car'
Sat, Aug 15 2015The whispers, suggestion, and innuendo touting a supercar project that involves some combination of Adrian Newey, Red Bull, and Aston Martin will not cease. Auto Express got comment from Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer regarding the gossip, Palmer saying, "There is rarely smoke without fire." He added that while he is on board with the idea of Newey penning something for the English carmaker, the Warwick firm is not the source of the rumors tying the two. But of course, what else would he say to the question of having perhaps the finest Formula One aerodynamicist of this generation design a coupe to wear the wings? The admission is a bit like Palmer saying he likes the idea of someone giving Aston Martin a billion dollars. He classified the situation as saying "there is no authentic program" with Newey, which sounds like official language for 'we've talked about it but there's no paper trail yet.' The project to build "an ultimate sports car" is under consideration, with designs in the works. A decision on whether to go further might come before the year is out. Or it might not. In the meantime, while we wait for the first, we'll have to do our best with the smoke and the DP-100 virtual race car that Aston Martin created for Gran Turismo 6. Related Video:
