Condition:

I purchased this car in 2007 in Redwood City, CA with one previous owner. At that time I recored the radiator, got a new clutch, and replaced most of not all of the hoses. I also installed a porcelain exhaust manifold which replaced the original steel one. This gives the car better horsepower and distributes the heat away from the delicate aluminum engine much better than steel. I also repaired the brake system in 2007.

The original owner got in an accident that slightly twisted the frame of the vehicle. This unfortunately messed with the car's suspension and alignment. When I purchased it I had my Alfa mechanic install adjustable trailing arm bushings which correct that problem completely.

I got in a front-end collision in the Spring and I can't afford to repair her. I'm really bummed but my hours were drastically cut at work in 2013 and I can't afford to repair her. She's been sitting in my driveway being said and I have decided it's time to let somebody else take her away.

The only things that this car needs to be running again is a front nose clip, a hood, a radiator, steering wheel and windshield.

Besides that, this baby is in GREAT SHAPE. It only has 78k miles on the original engine! I bought her with only 27k miles on the original engine in 2007. Literally some little old lady drove this thing to church on sundays, there were NO MILES ON THINGS THING. I've put about 50k on the engine over 6 years

Most recently I repaired the engine mount within the last 5k miles. I just got this baby smogged with a brand new muffler in March 2013. The tailpipe has been repaired as well. I also repaired the rear suspension mount and bought new tires about 3k miles ago.

The interior is in fair condition. The seats need upholstery and drivers' interior door panel needs repairs. The drivers' side power window motor is weak.

The canvas convertible top is original and in great condition with no tears or leaks, with only minor wear and tear from being 29 years old.

This is a great car to fix up or to use to part out for your mid to late 80s Spider.

The engine, transmission, and clutch are in great shape. There are 5 original alloy wheels (4 on the car, one is a spare). They are in great condition.

It also comes with a CD/MP3 player with USB input and an external amp which powers 4 speakers. I MIGHT remove this before I sell it but contact me if you're interested and we can talk about it.

Please contact me with any questions. I put my heart and soul into this car and know every inch of it.

Here's a quick list to glance through:

Original: Engine, transmission, wheels (5), convertible top, interior.

Upgraded: Adjustable trailing arm bushings, porcelain exhaust manifold, modern hoses.

Repaired: Rear suspension mount, engine mount, tailpipe

New: Tires (approx 3k miles), muffler, brakes, clutch (approx 10k miles) battery replaced and under AAA warranty in 2010.

Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio trims leaving North America this summer

Tue, Feb 20 2024

Larry Dominique, Alfa Romeo senior vice president and head of North America, used a LinkedIn post to set the countdown clock on the brand's Quadrifolgio models here. He wrote, "The opportunity to order a 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio or Stelvio Quadrifoglio will close to North America at the end of April 2024. The last internal only combustion powered Quadrifoglio models for U.S. and Canada will exit the Cassino plant in June 2024." That gives shoppers about 10 weeks to place an order for the hottest versions of Alfa Romeo's sedan and midsize SUV, and until late summer to find a fresh example on a dealer lot. It's possible the internal-combustion-only Quadrifoglio is dying in the U.S. on its 101st birthday, Italian racing driver Ugo Sivocci having had the four-leaf clover painted on his car for the 1923 Targa Florio. Today, the clover represents models powered by Alfa's twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, an engine said to be inspired by Ferrari's twin-turbo 3.9-liter V6. The six-cylinder makes 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque in typical form, the limited-edition Quadrifoglio Anniversario models produced last year making 520 horsepower and picking up the mechanical limited-slip differential derived from the sold-out, 540-horsepower Giulia GTA. This is just another step in the automaker's transfer to an all-electric lineup, all of the brand's launches from 2027 and thereafter meant to be electric. This isn't the end of the Quadrifoglio, Dominique himself writing in that post, "I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey." Successive iterations will get some sort of electric assistance at the least, and perhaps turn into the 1,000-hp battery-electric 2026 Giulia Quadrifoglio that CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato hinted at last year, with an 800-horsepower Veloce trim below and a 350-hp base trim. Or, with PHEVs coming into fashion as a more affordable middle ground to the fully electric promised land, it might be time to take a little more inspiration from Ferrari — now a separate company — and poke around the underside of the SF90 Stradale. Alfa noises and pure electric driving on demand? Si, certamento.

2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio tweaked outside and in

Mon, Oct 31 2022

Another Stellantis brand has hopped on the streamlining craze, this time Alfa Romeo. The Italians from Turin dropped info on what's coming to the 2023 Giulia sedan and Stelvio crossover for international markets, the best bits likely destined for our market as well. After introducing new brand hallmarks on the Tonale, the Giulia and Stelvio adopt the revised Trilobo grille and three-section full-LED headlights. You'll need look closely to see the grille differences, but there's a touch more depth and sculpting around the edges. The headlight changes are easier to spot, the "3+3" inspiration coming from the SZ and Brera, which predate the Tonale. The headlights also come with automatic high beams. Other shores that can have fancy lights get the Adaptive Matrix high beams that automatically adjust beam contours so as not to blind oncoming traffic. Yes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration cleared the mechanics of such lights for use in the U.S. in February of this year, but U.S. laws stipulate a lower maximum brightness than allowed in other markets. We'll see if the matrix system makes it here. The taillights don't appear to have changed, their covers have. The Giulia gets transparent glass taillight covers, the Stelvio gets smoked glass. There could be some illumination tricks front and back, too. We're used to seeing sequential turn signals in back, spy shots have shown a sequential turn signal pattern in the headlights, and Alfa says there's a "'Welcome and Goodbye' device that turns on every time the driver closes or opens the car."  Every trim features a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel that comes with three themes. The Heritage theme recalls the analogue gauges on vintage Alfas, with some upside down numbers on the analogue-looking speedo, a minimalist tachometer and a digital facsimile of the old school odometer with rolling numbers. Evolved "represents the future of Alfa Romeo design," placing most information in the center, the circular areas at the edges containing sweeping needles for the speedo and tach, but no numbers in the 'dials.' Relaxed puts nearly everything in the center, putting vitals like fuel level and oil temperature at the sides. Trim levels will be reorganized into two primary levels and two options levels. The basic tiers are Super, the entry-level, and Ti.
