Salvage 1984 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Great For Parts on 2040-cars

I purchased this car in 2007 in Redwood City, CA with one previous owner. At that time I recored the radiator, got a new clutch, and replaced most of not all of the hoses. I also installed a porcelain exhaust manifold which replaced the original steel one. This gives the car better horsepower and distributes the heat away from the delicate aluminum engine much better than steel. I also repaired the brake system in 2007. The original owner got in an accident that slightly twisted the frame of the vehicle. This unfortunately messed with the car's suspension and alignment. When I purchased it I had my Alfa mechanic install adjustable trailing arm bushings which correct that problem completely. I got in a front-end collision in the Spring and I can't afford to repair her. I'm really bummed but my hours were drastically cut at work in 2013 and I can't afford to repair her. She's been sitting in my driveway being said and I have decided it's time to let somebody else take her away. The only things that this car needs to be running again is a front nose clip, a hood, a radiator, steering wheel and windshield. Besides that, this baby is in GREAT SHAPE. It only has 78k miles on the original engine! I bought her with only 27k miles on the original engine in 2007. Literally some little old lady drove this thing to church on sundays, there were NO MILES ON THINGS THING. I've put about 50k on the engine over 6 years Most recently I repaired the engine mount within the last 5k miles. I just got this baby smogged with a brand new muffler in March 2013. The tailpipe has been repaired as well. I also repaired the rear suspension mount and bought new tires about 3k miles ago. The interior is in fair condition. The seats need upholstery and drivers' interior door panel needs repairs. The drivers' side power window motor is weak. The canvas convertible top is original and in great condition with no tears or leaks, with only minor wear and tear from being 29 years old. This is a great car to fix up or to use to part out for your mid to late 80s Spider. The engine, transmission, and clutch are in great shape. There are 5 original alloy wheels (4 on the car, one is a spare). They are in great condition. It also comes with a CD/MP3 player with USB input and an external amp which powers 4 speakers. Alfa Romeo Giulia to get Ferrari-related engine
Fri, Jun 19 2015Alfa Romeo has a long, proud history of using V6 engines in its coupes, sedans, and sports cars over the years, but as the new Giulia sedan approaches, the Italian marque is allegedly turning to Ferrari for its next six-cylinder. This is obviously not the first time a Ferrari-sourced or derived engine has been found under an Alfa's long hood. While 8C Competizione famously used a version of Ferrari's F136 V8 during its short run, the Giulia's new V6 will be offered on a much larger scale, slotting in above an entry level, four-cylinder turbo (likely the next-gen version of the 4C sports car's 1.75-liter engine). According to Autocar, the new V6 will be "specially developed for Alfa Romeo," and will be built at the Termoli engine factory alongside the new turbo four-cylinder. As for the rest of the Giulia, Autocar has been able to shine a light on a number of other details about the new midsizer. It will, thankfully, be rear-wheel drive, and designed to counter the "mostly cold and clinical" and soulless cars of the German competition, Maserati chief Harald Wester told AC. Some of the new sedan's structural elements will even be shared with Maserati's entry level model, the Ghibli. Most notable of all, though, is what the Giulia means for American consumers. After the limited-run 8C and the niche 4C, the new sedan will lead Alfa Romeo's long-awaited, large-scale return, where it will combat the popular BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, not to mention rivals like the Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. Look for more on the Giulia next week when it's officially revealed in Milan.
2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio exhaust is just as good as you hoped
Fri, May 22 2020Alfa Romeos, especially the fast ones, are car enthusiast darlings. As such, you likely already know that the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has a Ferrari-derived twin-turbo V6 making 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. What you may not know for sure is how it sounds. And if you watch the video above, you'll know positively that it sounds excellent. Most of the video features the Alfa in Dynamic or Race modes, which open up the exhaust and make the shifts faster and aggressive, among other things such as stiffening the suspension. In these modes, the Alfa growls, howls and everything in-between. It's not a flawless performance, as there are times you get a bit of V6 drone, but when its right, its pipes sound amazing Fortunately for anyone with easily agitated neighbors, or buyers who want to take the Alfa on long drives, it quiets right down in its normal and eco modes. It also starts in the normal mode by default, so you won't wake anyone up if you have to drive off late at night or early in the morning. Certainly in the sound department, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a well-rounded performer. Related Video:
Planned Alfa Romeo 8C and GTV don't appear to have a future anymore
Fri, Nov 1 2019The two Alfa Romeos we’ve been looking forward to most donÂ’t appear to have much of a future anymore, according to a report from Automobile. Both the 8C and GTV no longer exist on AlfaÂ’s product roadmap, and Mike Manley suggested they were canned, as well. “In the near term, the new portfolio for the brand is significantly scaled back with a corresponding reduction in capital spending,” Manley said, referring to Alfa Romeo in the companyÂ’s third-quarter earnings call. We've asked FCA if it can explicitly confirm anything on the 8C and GTV, but it offered no comment on the report. Additionally, FCAÂ’s presentation (uncovered by Motor1) of future Alfa Romeo vehicles left the 8C and GTV off the list. The only new cars planned for the future include a production version of the Tonale crossover and another unnamed crossover. FCAÂ’s presentation also states: “brand to focus on current market strengths with reduced global reach and overlap with other Group brands.” We all know that the strength of the market is in crossovers right now, so itÂ’s easy to infer what happens from there. Expensive, luxury sports cars are not where the scale and money is at for Alfa Romeo, a brand that isnÂ’t exactly thriving from a sales perspective today. Sales for both the Stelvio and Giulia are down in 2019 as those cars exit their honeymoon phase. Alfa is expected to have a midcycle refresh ready for consumption in 2021, so perhaps that could provide a temporary boost in sales for the Italian brand. FCA also said itÂ’s reducing planned capital spending on Alfa Romeo, which could hurt the brand even more in the future. This earnings call came the same day that the FCA-PSA merger was announced, throwing another wrench into the plan. WeÂ’re not yet sure what the merger will mean for Alfa Romeo and its presence in America, but we imagine more news on that will be coming as the companies transition to this new life together. The Giorgio platform appears to be safe for the time being, as Manley expressed his intentions to keep it around. This platform (underpinning both the Giulia and Stelvio) was developed with electrification of the powertrain in mind, so itÂ’ll be capable of handling a number of electrification efforts in FCAÂ’s future. We only wish the promising 8C and GTV wouldÂ’ve made it to production, but even Alfa appears to be thinning the herd of cars in favor of crossovers.
