Everything works and functions 100% as it should. -Cosmetically, it is also in excellent condition, especially for its age. The exterior is in superb shape, paint is almost like new, soft top is new, all glass and lighting is good. Interior has upgraded sport seats in good (not perfect) condition. Also new wood steering wheel and Alfa shift knob were installed. The rest of the interior is all good. No lights on the dash except for the "AIRBAG" due to the steering wheel being changed, however it does not cause any problems or warning noises whatsoever, and only blinks every few seconds.-Clutch, brakes, and tires are all good to go for many more miles. All stock "phone dial" wheels are in excellent structural condition, but could use a respray of silver paint to look perfect."

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce
-super low 35,xxx original miles
-5speed manual trans
-all original
-excellent condition
-100% accident free with clean&clear title and vehicle history

Exterior:
-The paint is truly in excellent condition, photos do not do justice.  This car shines, the paint is still deep and glossy with no defects anywhere.  For its age, it honestly looks like new.  The front bumper was recently professionally resprayed due to numerous little stone chips from highway driving.  It came out excellent and looks completely original.
-The original "phone dial" wheels look great and are structurally in perfect condition.  However, the silver finish on them looks a bit "weathered" and "old" when you are up close.  The wheels just need a good respray to look perfect.
-The convertible soft top was recently replaced with a brand new unit.  It is a tan canvas material with a plastic rear window.  The top functions and looks 100%.  It goes up and down with ease, and the plastic rear window is in excellent shape.
-All glass and lighting is in excellent condition both functionally and cosmetically.
-Absolutely NO RUST anywhere.  Floors, trunk, spare tire well, wheel wells, rockers, etc are all 100% solid.
Interior:
-Carpeting is all in great condition.  Door panels and center consoles are also all great for their age.
-Dash is perfect with no cracks whatsoever.
-Cluster looks and functions 100%.  Speedometer and odometer have always worked as they should.  No warning lights, except for "AIRBAG" due to aftermarket steering wheel being installed.  The light blinks every few seconds, and does not make any noises whatsoever.  It is not annoying at all, and you wouldn't even realize it was on, I just take pride in disclosing everything, both good and bad.
-Upgraded tan sport seats have been installed.  They have very high bolsters that keep you snug and tight in turns and heavy cornering.  Very comfortable seats with an awesome vintage classic sports car look.
-Wood steering wheel and Alfa Romeo shift knob have been installed.  Both feel great in your hands and add to the vintage classic sports car feel.
-All buttons, switches, and electronics work as they should.  Aftermarket stereo headunit with CD player has been installed and works excellent, far superior than the stock unit.
-Tan soft top boot/cover is included.  This really finishes the car off and makes it look even more beautiful when the convertible top is down.
Mechanically:
-Car starts, runs, and drives perfectly.  I have driven this car countless times without a single hiccup.  Starts right up on the first try, every time.  Idles perfectly and steadily.  Runs very strong and smoothly.
-Transmission and clutch shift smoothly and perfectly throughout every gear.  This car does NOT crunch going into 2nd gear, like most other Alfa's do.  Clutch feels great and strong, and should last for years and years to come.
-Suspension is firm and tight, yet smooth and comfortable.  Braking is very good and always consistent.  Tires are very meaty with lots and lots of thread left.
-I honestly can not come up with one mechanical fault this car has, it is absolutely perfect.  You can just tell it has been meticulously taken care of its entire life within the first few seconds of driving it for the first time.

**
This is one of the best looking and driving Alfa Romeo Spiders around.  It is also the most reasonably priced (S4) Spider I have seen up for sale in a long time.  If you have ever wanted to own an Alfa Spider, this is the one!
This car is also an investment that you can enjoy.  Clean, low mileage Series 4 (S4) Spiders are going up in price every year.  They are becoming more rare and more expensive to purchase one, so now is the time.
I would love to keep this car, but I must sell for financial reasons.  eBay only allowed me to upload 24 photos, but I do have more which I can email to serious buyers.

Best sport sedans for 2022 and 2023

Thu, Nov 11 2021

SUVs dominate the car industry at every size and price level, but some people still prefer the looks, and more importantly, the performance and comfort, of the traditional sedan. With a lower ride height, lighter weight and generally smaller size, they often are much more fun to drive, and can even be more comfortable. Sport sedans of course lean harder on the performance side of things, and are among the best options for sheer speed and fun, thanks to those inherent characteristics. We've rounded up the ones in the segment that do the sporty dance better than any others in 2024 to give you a handy guide when you're shopping for one of your own. You'll find a wide array of cars here including gas, electric and hybrid powertrains. They'll have manual and automatic transmissions and drive the front, rear or all four wheels. Technically a few hatchbacks have slipped in, but they're close enough in look and feel that we wanted to include them. And excluding them means you might miss out on some of the best-driving options available. You wouldn't want that, would you? Alfa Romeo Giulia Why it stands out: Punchy four-cylinder; astounding power from Quadrifoglio; light and nimble character; awesome shift paddlesCould be better: Clunky infotainment; sub-par switchgear Read our Alfa Romeo Giulia review We start this list with one of the most predictable inclusions: the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Yes, it's a stereotype that the Italian sport sedan is fun to drive, but the fact is, well, it is. The Giulia comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 280 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful four-cylinders in the segment. It's paired with a snappy and smooth eight-speed transmission and either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.  The engine is lively and torquey, if a little short of revs, and the chassis feels super-light. The steering is eager and the car jumps into corners. We also highly recommend getting a version with the enormous and superb aluminum paddle shifters that make clicking through gears much more entertaining. And on the topic of the interior, it's attractive, but the various switches and knobs feels a little cheap, and the infotainment system is clunky. Of course there's also the incredible Giulia Quadrifoglio at the high end. It gets a Ferrari-derived twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 making 505 hp, and it's rear-wheel drive only.

Alfa Romeo could reportedly bring Sauber F1 tech to its road cars

Tue, Feb 19 2019

In the summer of 2018, Alfa Romeo laid out its five-year plan, only weeks before former Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO Sergio Marchionne passed away. Alfa ambitiously projected several new vehicles of various shapes, sizes and performance levels but gave only vague details. A new report from Piston Heads adds a layer of color to the timeline, suggesting one or more of these upcoming rides could feature influence from Alfa Romeo's Formula 1 partner Sauber. PistonHeads.com recently had the chance to chop it up with Sauber Team Principal Frederic Vasseur at the F1 pre-season sessions in Barcelona, where Alfa Romeo and Sauber were testing out their just-unveiled 2019 car. According to the brief conversation, Alfa and Sauber have collaborations in the works beyond the paddock. "We are already working on another project together and you will see the result quite soon," Vasseur told PH. "It's a huge opportunity for us, but it will involve only the guys at the factory in Switzerland, as the trackside guys are focussed on the racing." Vasseur later tipped that they might have several projects in development. Without any more details, there's a lot of room for speculation, so let's quickly unpack what Alfa has already admitted to be planning. In addition to two new SUVs that will launch in the upcoming years, the performance-minded Italian brand said it would resurrect two well-known and highly desirable nameplates: 8C and GTV. Both cars will reportedly be hybrids, with the 8C serving as a halo mid-engined supercar, while the GTV will essentially be a Giulia coupe, complete with an eventual Quadrifoglio variant. Considering how great and high-powered the current Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglios already are, it seems unlikely these projects would deal with those current models. It's possible Sauber is helping Alfa Romeo with the GTV, as previous reports suggested the two-door will have F1-derived technology, but it is unclear if the coupe is coming "quite soon." It's also possible that Sauber is collaborating with Alfa on all of its upcoming performance electrification and hybrid technology. For now, it's a guessing game, but if the reports are accurate, we won't have to wait much longer to learn more. Alfa Sprint Speciale racer looks fantastic, sounds even better

Thu, Oct 2 2014

Nothing quite sounds like a vintage Alfa Romeo four-cylinder engine at full gallop, especially in motorsport trim. With a combination of low-frequency burbling played over a high-pitch scream, they really know how to sing. This week Petrolicious takes a look at a truly unique Alfa Sprint Speciale that's just as adept at competing in the wide-open La Carrera Panamericana vintage race in Mexico as it is snaking through some undulating, tree-lined back roads. Ostensibly, this is a 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale, although it's really much more the creation of Alfa-restorer Conrad Stevenson. The roof section, including the holes for the windshield and rear glass, is original to one of these fantastic-looking coupes. But everything below that is Stevenson's handiwork. To shape the styling, he combined the original Bertone design with his own ideas to purpose build the car for the challenges of the Mexican race. As usual, Petrolicious nails every aspect of the production, especially the handheld camera work inside the cabin as the car negotiates the curves. It really communicates the connection between this swoopy Alfa and its builder. Plus, the sound mix lets the engine play its glorious tune.
