A REAL "sports-car"!! The 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio contained major upgrades over prior year Alfa vehicles, including the ever-reliable Bosch (German) electronic ignition system and the equally reliable Bosch fuel-injection system.  Both make for easy starting and smooth and strong acceleration.  The engine is a very peppy 2.0 litre, in-line four (4) cylinder.  It runs on regular gas and is very economical and simple to maintain.   It has that Alfa classic five (5) speed stick-shift transmission located high on the console and a limited slip, high torque 4.10 ratio rear-end differential.  Exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Car is kept inside a 4-car heated garage connected to my home and is brought out during the summer for rides to Dairy Queen.  By the way, this car has not been exposed to or driven in the rain or snow for the last nineteen (19) YEARS.  This car drives and shifts smooth and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.  This top-of-the-model-line Alfa convertible has air conditioning, power windows, power steering, premium leather bucket seats (light gray leather accented with red stitching) and beautiful Michelin tires with those classic Alfa alloy wheels in the picture.  Car will be sold as is and the new owner will be responsible for shipping or pick up.  Classic and beautiful Alfa Red color with Black cloth convertible top.  There is also a snap-on hardtop in the Alfa Red color included (thus the name Quadrifoglio, which means "four leaf clover" which for Alfa was/is their racing division emblem!).  With a sleek body-style designed by the legendary Pina Farina group in Italy (who also designs the Ferrari and Maserati), it is an eye-catching attention getter that gets people talking and puts a smile on everyone's face.   This Spring be ready to "drop the top" and be noticed as everyone loves this unique, and rare, one-of-a-kind convertible.

I have several more pictures that (due to their size) the eBay site would not accept. I am happy to e-mail them if you wish. I can be contacted via e-mail at deacon@deacon.pro or via cell phone at (440) 336-2200.

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the priciest Alfa you can buy

Thu, Feb 15 2018

Alfa Romeo has finally announced pricing for its Stelvio Quadrifoglio high-performance crossover, and it's not cheap. The base price is $81,590, which makes it the most expensive car in the Alfa lineup. The next most expensive is the Giulia Quadrifoglio at $75,295. That's a difference of roughly $6,000. And you can make the Stelvio even more expensive by optioning in Sparco carbon fiber shell racing seats or carbon ceramic brakes. Alfa hasn't revealed pricing for those, but expect the brakes to cost the same $8,000 that they do on the Giulia Quadrifoglio. You do get a lot of car for the money, though. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio gets the same twin-turbocharged, Ferrari-built V6 as its Giulia counterpart, still making 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. That will take the car to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 177 mph. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is also the current SUV lap time record holder at the Nurburgring. If the price seems acceptable to you, you'll be able to pick one up early this year. Alfa Romeo range-topping sports car confirmed for 2023 debut

Fri, Aug 19 2022

Alfa Romeo's on-again, off-again range-topping sports car is back in the pipeline. Company boss Jean-Philippe Imparato confirmed that a two-door flagship is on track to make its debut in 2023 as a concept whose exterior design will draw inspiration from historic models. "You will see something in that field in terms of sportiness in the first half of 2023. We use one word to define the brand, and it's 'sportiness,'" the executive told British magazine Autocar. He's previously voiced his support for bringing back the dormant GTV and Duetto nameplates. Imparato added that the yet-unnamed model will borrow styling cues from the Tipo 33, though he didn't specify which version of the car he has in mind. Alfa raced several evolutions of the Tipo 33 from 1966 to 1977, and it sold 18 units of a Franco Scaglione-designed supercar with a mid-mounted engine called 33 Stradale (pictured) between 1967 and 1969. We're guessing it's the latter that will provide inspiration. Numerous points remain up in the air, like what will power the car. "For the moment, I have two scenarios: full ICE or full EV," he revealed to Autocar. Regardless, the model "will be very exciting, very selective, and very expensive." It sounds like production will be limited. We're about four months away from 2023, so we won't have to wait long to discover the concept that Alfa Romeo is working on. Executives have toyed with the idea of adding a sportier model to the range for several years, but they have never pulled the trigger. Imparato explained in 2021 that the brand wouldn't release another two-door car until it increased its sales in more mainstream segments of the market. What's changed since then is unclear; the Tonale unveiled in February 2022 is the only new Alfa Romeo released since. (A Dodge Hornet badge-engineered version of the Tonale was revealed this week.) Traveling further back, in 2018 former Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) boss Sergio Marchionne announced that the 8C and GTV names would make a comeback on a pair of coupes. The former was presented as having a carbon fiber chassis and 700 horsepower thanks to a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain built around a mid-mounted turbocharged V6. The latter was also planned as a hybrid, but it would have offered drivers 600 horsepower, and a sketch made it look like a two-door version of the Giulia sedan. Both cars were canned by 2019. Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider rightfully fawned over by Petrolicious

Thu, Jan 16 2014

Following the Top Gear adage "You can't be a true petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa Romeo," is rather difficult for those of us in North America. Faced with a distinct lack of new cars and an equally disturbing abundance of vintage basketcases, the road to Alfa ownership is a difficult one for residents of the new world. Where there's a will, there's a way, though, and the benefits certainly seem worthwhile, as we see with Casey Annis and his gorgeous 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce 1600. Annis is the publisher and editor of Vintage Racecar Magazine, so he knows a thing or six about these classic Alfas. The video discusses his Alfa, which has been upgraded to Veloce specifications, as well as what the Alfa community is like as a whole. Petrolicious has the story on Annis and his Alfa in its latest video. Fans of classic Italians are not going to want to miss this one.
