A REAL "sports-car"!! The 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio contained major upgrades over prior year Alfa vehicles, including the ever-reliable Bosch (German) electronic ignition system and the equally reliable Bosch fuel-injection system. Both make for easy starting and smooth and strong acceleration. The engine is a very peppy 2.0 litre, in-line four (4) cylinder. It runs on regular gas and is very economical and simple to maintain. It has that Alfa classic five (5) speed stick-shift transmission located high on the console and a limited slip, high torque 4.10 ratio rear-end differential. Exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Car is kept inside a 4-car heated garage connected to my home and is brought out during the summer for rides to Dairy Queen. By the way, this car has not been exposed to or driven in the rain or snow for the last nineteen (19) YEARS. This car drives and shifts smooth and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. This top-of-the-model-line Alfa convertible has air conditioning, power windows, power steering, premium leather bucket seats (light gray leather accented with red stitching) and beautiful Michelin tires with those classic Alfa alloy wheels in the picture. Car will be sold as is and the new owner will be responsible for shipping or pick up. Classic and beautiful Alfa Red color with Black cloth convertible top. There is also a snap-on hardtop in the Alfa Red color included (thus the name Quadrifoglio, which means "four leaf clover" which for Alfa was/is their racing division emblem!). With a sleek body-style designed by the legendary Pina Farina group in Italy (who also designs the Ferrari and Maserati), it is an eye-catching attention getter that gets people talking and puts a smile on everyone's face. This Spring be ready to "drop the top" and be noticed as everyone loves this unique, and rare, one-of-a-kind convertible.
I have several more pictures that (due to their size) the eBay site would not accept. I am happy to e-mail them if you wish. I can be contacted via e-mail at deacon@deacon.pro or via cell phone at (440) 336-2200.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider lives to see 2020 and gets an Italia special edition
Thu, Feb 7 2019Alfa Romeo is launching a limited run of special-edition 4C Spider sports cars for the U.S. Called the 4C Spider Italia, only 15 of these cars will be built. Before you get up in arms about how exclusive and impossible to find this will be, consider Alfa 4C sales numbers. All of seven were sold in January, and 2018 saw 238 cars find owners. So, perhaps the limited numbers aren't that limiting. The 4C Spider Italia is essentially a $5,000 appearance package. It takes the standard 4C Spider (the coupe was discontinued in the U.S. last year) and then covers it in an exclusive blue paint called Misano Blue Metallic. Then, the front air intake and rear diffuser are finished in piano black. You also get a "4C Spider Italia" sticker for the side of the car that looks properly Italian. On the inside, there's an aluminum dashboard insert designating this car as the special edition model, and the center console has a plate with the exact number it is in the 15-car run. And that's it. Our brains most recently associate the "Italia" designation with Ferrari, but this package does nothing to bring it closer to the incredible 458's performance. You'll get the same 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque from the little turbocharged four-banger. Perhaps the best news out of this special edition car is that it's a 2020 model year. Alfa announced this car and confirmed the 4C Spider will continue at least through 2020. Even with the only option being a dual-clutch automatic transmission, the 4C is one of the most barebones, pure driving experiences you can get in a new car today. Its continued existence is only a good thing for us sports car enthusiasts. With the $5,000 tacked on to the base price, a 4C Spider Italia will run you $73,495, including destination charges. Alfa says orders for the special edition car will open up in the second quarter of 2019. Related video:
China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians
Tue, Aug 15 2017NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
Lazzarini dreams up Ferrari-powered, Hennessey-tuned Alfa Romeo 4C
Wed, Nov 19 2014If there are any two firms you could count on to shoehorn a Ferrari V8 into the back of an Alfa Romeo 4C, they would almost certainly be Lazzarini Design and Hennessey Performance. The former already dreamt up doing the same with a Fiat 500, and the latter has been shattering records with a similar conversion performed on a Lotus Elise to turn it into the Venom GT. What you see here is their lovechild. Designed by Lazzarini and enhanced by Hennessey, the 4C Definitiva does – at least in theory – what Maserati was not prepared to do: shoehorn a Ferrari-sourced V8 engine into the back of Alfa's nimble little sports car. The powerplant is borrowed from the Ferrari 458 Italia and tuned by Hennessey to produce a claimed 738 horsepower and 532 pound-feet of torque. In a package weighing just 2,100 pounds, that's said to be enough to propel Frankenstein's four-wheeled monster to 60 miles per hour in a scant 2.5 seconds and across the quarter-mile in 9.5 seconds at 137 mph. Those are LaFerrari levels of performance. As you can see, the engine transplant calls for a widened rear track, and is accompanied by more aggressive aero as well. Of course, the design may be little more than an idea at the moment, but Lazzarini is apparently looking for customers to commission the first examples, at a reported price of 260,000 euros, which is about five times the going rate for a stock 4C and more than Ferrari gets for the 458 Speciale. Whether it's worth that much is one question. Whether Lazzarini and Hennessey could actually deliver on the promise is an even bigger one.
