I recently purchased this Spider with the idea of parting it out, but it drives well--runs so good I thought someone might want to save it. Starts right up, no smoke, no noises, and no leaks. Shifts and drives fine, but I've only driven it a short distance as it's not registered. Holds good oil pressure. temp is fine. Gauges all work except speedo- odometer works, not speedo. Shows 65K miles and the 2008 title shows 63K actual so it might be real, but no guarantees. Interior is in nice overall shape- seats are not split or ripped at all. No dash cracks. Has a newer Stereo/ C/D that works.
Power windows work, bumpers are straight and nice, doors open and close easily, and all gaps are very good. .
Now for the not so good- as you can see there is considerable rust- worst on the driver's side rockers and fender bottoms, some elsewhere- please check the photos closely. The spare tire well has a large hole from rust, otherwise trunk is solid. I'm not a body man - I don't know about how extensive the rust may be. Paint is poor, and it should have a new top. Might be able to get away with a new rear window, and a small patch near the window. It's a manual top and works fine. Wheels are Crodora14 inch 5 spoke and are in nice shape and include centers. Int Auto Parts lists repos of these in their catalog for $300 EACH.
Exhaust looks pretty new, but needs a hanger at the back for the tailpipe.
I'm selling it as a project car or in the worst case a parts car. Obviously AS IS, where is. I'm located between Ft Myers and Sarasota FL- you're welcome to come look prior to purchase, and feel free to ask any questions. NO RESERVE, High bidder gets it.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider lives to see 2020 and gets an Italia special edition
Thu, Feb 7 2019Alfa Romeo is launching a limited run of special-edition 4C Spider sports cars for the U.S. Called the 4C Spider Italia, only 15 of these cars will be built. Before you get up in arms about how exclusive and impossible to find this will be, consider Alfa 4C sales numbers. All of seven were sold in January, and 2018 saw 238 cars find owners. So, perhaps the limited numbers aren't that limiting. The 4C Spider Italia is essentially a $5,000 appearance package. It takes the standard 4C Spider (the coupe was discontinued in the U.S. last year) and then covers it in an exclusive blue paint called Misano Blue Metallic. Then, the front air intake and rear diffuser are finished in piano black. You also get a "4C Spider Italia" sticker for the side of the car that looks properly Italian. On the inside, there's an aluminum dashboard insert designating this car as the special edition model, and the center console has a plate with the exact number it is in the 15-car run. And that's it. Our brains most recently associate the "Italia" designation with Ferrari, but this package does nothing to bring it closer to the incredible 458's performance. You'll get the same 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque from the little turbocharged four-banger. Perhaps the best news out of this special edition car is that it's a 2020 model year. Alfa announced this car and confirmed the 4C Spider will continue at least through 2020. Even with the only option being a dual-clutch automatic transmission, the 4C is one of the most barebones, pure driving experiences you can get in a new car today. Its continued existence is only a good thing for us sports car enthusiasts. With the $5,000 tacked on to the base price, a 4C Spider Italia will run you $73,495, including destination charges. Alfa says orders for the special edition car will open up in the second quarter of 2019. Related video:
Alfa Romeo takes over naming of Sauber F1 team
Sun, Feb 3 2019HINWIL, Switzerland — Italian car brand Alfa Romeo will be the only name on its Formula One team partnership with Switzerland-based Sauber this season. The rebranding means 2007 F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi will be driving for Alfa Romeo Racing in 2019. The team was called Alfa Romeo Sauber when it finished eighth in the constructors' standings last year. Sauber says the "long-term partnership ... has been further extended, with the ownership and management of Sauber remaining unchanged and independent." Alfa Romeo drivers won the first two F1 championships — Giuseppe "Nino" Farina in 1950 and Juan Manuel Fangio in 1951 — then left the series after 1985 until returning with Sauber. Related Video:
FCA is setting a five-year strategy: Here's how the last one played out
Thu, May 31 2018We're slightly more than four years removed from Sergio Marchionne last five-year plan for FCA, a tell-all where the Italian-American automaker divulged its plans for the 2014 through 2018 model years. It was a grand affair, where Sergio told FCA investors that all was right in Auburn Hills, Alfa Romeo and Maserati were making comebacks, and the fifth-gen Dodge Viper received a mid-cycle refresh. You can read every last one of those past predictions right here. We're on our way to Europe to see Sergio's sequel, coming out Friday straight from FCA's Italian headquarters. (Bloomberg reports a plan to expand Jeep and Ram globally, combine Alfa Romeo and Maserati into a single division for an eventual spinoff, and downsizing Fiat and Chrysler. Also, EVs.) But before we arrive in Italy and find out exactly what Marchionne has planned for 2019 through 2023 as his last act as CEO, let's take a minute to tally up the results of his last term based on the same scoresheet we used in 2014. Now, we're only five months into 2018, so much of this — including vehicles like the Ram HD and Jeep Grand Wagoneer — could still debut this year. For those, we'll mark things TBD. We're not going to draw any conclusions or make any objectionable remarks. We're simply going to let the stats speak for themselves.
