1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Graduate Convertible 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
San Carlos, California, United States
1987 Alfa Romeo Spider VIN: 2arba5648h1dy5941 This Alfa has spent all of it’s life in California since brand new. The body is in good shape other than a few minor dings, however nothing major. The paint looks like it’s original and is shining in great shape. I am the the second owner and since I have owned the car I have made many improvements such as a new clutch which is still in brand new condition, major engine services have recently been done as well. The engine runs very strong and significantly better than other Alfa’s I have tried out. Rims were upgraded to the best style of Alfa rims along with four new tires. The top is of canvas material and in great shape with a clear rear window. (as seen in pictures) Also included is a factory recommended roll-bar for safety. Interior is original and looks great. Most Alfa’s throughout their lifetime have a dis-functional autometer which is why you see so many with unrealistic low mileage, even though these cars usually for occasional driving pleasure. The mileage on this vehicle reads the actual mileage and has never stopped working. I tried to the best of my ability and knowledge to describe the car and personally approved any repairs and necessary upgrades suggested by my mechanic. All parts on this vehicle are original, meaning they are Alfa Romeo factory parts. The condition of this sale is on an as-is basis, so please see all pictures carefully and ask me any or all questions you may have before engaging in bidding. This car is a part of my classic collection which I intend to reduce due to relocation to a smaller property. Please be noted that the previous two vehicles I sold were driven across the country earning me two unforgettable compliments upon arrival. Thank you and good luck! |

Alfa Romeo to launch eight new products by 2018, increase sales to 400K units
Tue, 06 May 2014
Alfa Romeo will go back to being the brand people admire, according to CEO Harald Wester.
After a few streams of news on the various brands in the Fiat Chrysler family, here's the deluge we've been waiting for - Alfa Romeo. The legendary Italian brand is being pointed towards a renaissance, as shown by the brand's five-year plan.
Mysterious Maserati test mule could be upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia
Mon, Dec 8 2014Well well well, what have we here? The truth is that we don't know. It seems to be a Maserati Ghibli, but since that model is already out on the market, we're likely looking at something else. Just what is the question, and the answer likely lies in the wheelbase. While this test mule, spied undergoing cold-weather testing in northern Sweden, is clearly wearing the bodywork (and likely most of the mechanical bits) from the Ghibli, it's riding on a shortened wheelbase. Which tells us this could be one of two things: it's likely to be a test mule either for the upcoming Maserati Alfieri sports car, or for the new Alfa Romeo Giulia. The Alfieri was presented in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show back in March, foreshadowing a new sports car to serve as a halo model in the Maserati lineup. The production version is expected to be smaller and nimbler than the existing GranTurismo and positioned against the likes of the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type and Mercedes-AMG GT, to name just a few. The Giulia, meanwhile, is slated to be the first all-new Alfa Romeo since the arrival of the 4C last year and the Italian marque's first mainstream model since the launch of the Giulietta in 2010. The new sedan is expected to go after the likes of the BMW 3 Series and the new Jaguar XE, slotting in below the larger Maserati Ghibli that seeks to challenge the 5 Series and XF. If this is indeed a test mule for the new Alfa sedan, the quad tailpipes would seem, as our spy photographers point out, to indicate it's laying the groundwork for the GTA performance version. One way or another, there's something enticing to be coming soon from Italy, so watch this space.
Alfa Romeo to unveil Tonale at the Geneva Motor Show
Mon, Mar 4 2019Alfa Romeo is bringing a new model to the Geneva Motor Show, and it's likely to be called the Tonale. This is as much as we know so far. The Tonale, the name of which is currently being propped onto the stage in Geneva, is expected to be a small SUV. But the vehicle's basis is being hotly debated right before it's scheduled to be revealed. The compact SUV was also spied on the show floor right now, and the photo leak ran on the "Masera" Facebook page. First seen with its daytime running lights glowing under the wraps, then completely uncovered, the Tonale seems to have a sharp, yet curvy design, with aggressive front detailing. Based on earlier information, we're also expecting the Tonale to be available as a plug-in hybrid. Earlier information called the compact SUV to be based on FCA's Small Wide platform, with Automotive News saying it's likely to be sharing technology with the Jeep Compass, which is expected to be built in Italy in the near future. Later on, a Greek site called AutoBlog.gr (no relation) theorized that the new SUV would be built on the Giorgio platform instead, which would make it more of a true Alfa Romeo and a scaled-down Stelvio instead. As Carscoops says, the Tonale name comes from a mountain pass not quite as tall as the Stelvio Pass. The size and dimensions of the spied Tonale could make it likely to ride on Small Wide, or the long-wheelbase version of the platform, as the Small Wide platform (in several variants) underpins both the Renegade, Compass, and both the Fiat 500X and 500L, just with different lengths. The overhangs, especially the front, are longer than on Jeeps, but for it to run on a cut-down Giorgio might be a stretch. Related Video:
