I have had the privilege of owning this Italian work of art since October 2003.  Now it's time for me to offer the beautiful car to a new owner, who hopefully will appreciate her as much as I have.  It's not a "show" car, but a very sound and attractive vehicle that still turns heads when you drive by.  It needs to be driven and unfortunately I no longer have the time to devote to her.

I am by no means a mechanic and this is a 30 year old car.  It is very sound and drives well but like any car that's been on the road for 3 decades, it is not perfect.  The synchro in 2nd gear is a little touchy....a very common issue with this model.  The blower for the defroster/heater does not work.  Until recently, both power windows worked fine, but now the driver's side window has stopped working (the window is up).  Additionally, the driver's side door won't lock -- not sure if that's related to the power window problem.  The levers for the vent windows are not attached but I do have them in the glove compartment. (Same as when I purchased the car!)

On the "good" side:  the car has Michelin tires with almost no wear.  The radiator core has been replaced within the last month.  The canvas top is in excellent condition with a clear rear window.  I replaced the aftermarket radio that was in the car with a Pioneer receiver/CD player with a detachable face plate.  I am including a copy of Pat Braden's  Alfa Romeo Owner's Bible, a 1984 Owner's Operational Manual (50 state version) and an Alfa flag that I briefly flew on my garage.

SUMMER IS NOT OVER YET!  I'm offering a rare opportunity to own the Italian sports car you always wanted, at a very reasonable price.  The car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.  Local pick up only, but I will work with a buyer that wants to ship the car at the buyer's cost.

Vintage Alfa Romeo racer leads double life on Petrolicious

Fri, Dec 4 2015

Like many of us Bradley Price wanted to go racing, and he didn't have the space or budget to buy both a track toy and a hauler. However, he came up with a far more elegant solution than crowding his garage with extra equipment. Price picked up an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce and started driving it to events in the Vintage Sports Car Club of America. The latest clip from Petrolicious shows his laid back journey on the road for a day of motorsports at Lime Rock Park. Price's simple approach means he just needs to unpack his stuff at the track, and he can be ready for the afternoon. The VSCCA is also the perfect place for this relaxed attitude. According to Price, the events allow a community of racers to enjoy their classic cars together. He admits that no form of motorsports is cheap, but taking things casually makes the situation a little easier. Petrolicious' cinematography and sound mixing also shine in this new video. The camera is right in the action, and it gives the viewer a great look at how these vintage racers slide around.

Alfa SUV on pace for 2016 launch

Mon, Aug 3 2015

While other parts of FCA's five-year plan are reportedly being shifted around, the timeline for Alfa Romeo is holding firm. The Italian brand is now hard at work on its crossover, which arrives after the Giulia sedan. Everything is on schedule for a mid-2016 debut too, according to Automotive News, and US sales would reportedly come late that year or in early 2017. Codenamed Project 949, Alfa's crossover shares its underpinnings with the Giulia and is sized to take on premium entries in the segment, like the BMW X3, Automotive News reports. The model is the Italian brand's first production CUV. The plan for a crossover has been percolating for years, as evidenced by the 12--year-old Kamal concept (pictured above). The Giulia and CUV are two of the eight new models Alfa wants to launch by 2018. In the five-year plan, Alfa execs also discussed two compacts, another crossover, a second midsize sedan, a fullsize sedan, and a specialty product. While not all of these might come to the US, the brand has set a goal to see a dramatic global sales jump to 400,000 units. "We are taking a very hard look at the sequencing of the products that we are launching to make sure that we get the biggest bang for the buck from the utilization of the architecture in terms of volumes," FCA boss Sergio Marchionne said, according to Automotive News. 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio exhaust is just as good as you hoped

Fri, May 22 2020

Alfa Romeos, especially the fast ones, are car enthusiast darlings. As such, you likely already know that the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has a Ferrari-derived twin-turbo V6 making 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. What you may not know for sure is how it sounds. And if you watch the video above, you'll know positively that it sounds excellent. Most of the video features the Alfa in Dynamic or Race modes, which open up the exhaust and make the shifts faster and aggressive, among other things such as stiffening the suspension. In these modes, the Alfa growls, howls and everything in-between. It's not a flawless performance, as there are times you get a bit of V6 drone, but when its right, its pipes sound amazing Fortunately for anyone with easily agitated neighbors, or buyers who want to take the Alfa on long drives, it quiets right down in its normal and eco modes. It also starts in the normal mode by default, so you won't wake anyone up if you have to drive off late at night or early in the morning. Certainly in the sound department, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a well-rounded performer. Related Video:
