1982 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Convertible 2.0l 1962cc - Runs Great Fun To Drive! on 2040-cars
Bethesda, Maryland, United States
Lovely 1982 Alfa spider with just 59,800 miles for sale. Road ready and regularly driven on weekends. I am sad to be selling this incredibly fun car, but I have to part with it because I am moving out of the country and the cost of shipping the car exceeds my budget. I bought the car from the second owner and I have partial service records from the first owner and from me.
This car has been driven regularly and maintained and has a very solid engine and mechanicals and a new vinyl top. Brakes were replaced a couple of years ago. Interior is original (tan leather with tan/brown carpeting) except for aftermarket stereo. Electric windows and mirrors are in working order. The 4 cyl 1952 cc engine runs great, backed by Bosch fuel injection. The car is in good shape underneath - radiator guard is 100% intact which is rare on these. Not a show car but I'm not ashamed to take it to cars & coffee, and with a new paint job it would really look like a million bucks. Work needed: Needs a new paint job due to 32 years of scratches and dings and a long-ago substandard repaint on the trunk lid. Dent in nose has been filled and primed, and I also primed a couple of spots on/near the trunk that were starting to show surface rust. The leather seats are cracked and split at the seams and need recovering. There is a small pebble chip in the windshield. I would also suggest replacing the stereo. Please email me any questions you may have and I will answer as soon as possible. |

Alfa Romeo Giulia gets top safety award from IIHS
Tue, Oct 3 2017The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded a Top Safety Pick+ rating, its highest award, to the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia midsize luxury sedan — but with a caveat. The Giulia must have been built after May of this year, when the car's front-end structure was improved and the door hinge pillar and door sill were reinforced, among other changes. Vehicles that earn the IIHS's Top Safety Pick+ must achieve good ratings in all five crash tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints — an advanced or superior rating in front crash prevention and and acceptable or good rating for headlights. The Giulia's optional front crash prevention system earned a superior rating after it avoided a crash in the 12 mph track test and reduced its impact speed by an average 24 mph in the 25 mph test. The car's optional curve-adaptive headlights earned a good rating, while the base headlights rated poor. It joins 2017 versions of the Lexus ES 350, Audi A3 and A4, Volvo S60 and V60, and BMW 2 series and 3 series, as Top Safety Pick+ awardees for its segment. Lightly-camouflaged Alfa Romeo Stelvio snapped testing
Mon, Oct 24 2016With the Alfa Romeo Stelvio's expected reveal date at the Los Angeles Auto Show quickly approaching, we're not surprised to see prototypes testing in broad daylight with less and less camouflage. But even these latest spy shots make it difficult to determine details about the upcoming SUV. Just like before the headlights are disguised by heavy tape, but appear to be nearly identical to the ones found on the Giulia sedan. There's also a small v-shaped grille at the front with two rectangular ones on the bottom of the front fascia. The hood has three oddly-shaped ridges, but those are probably more camo to disguise actual creases. Previous SUVs were spotted with much smaller ruffles on the hood. The overall profile of the prototype remains the same as the ones we've spotted earlier with a design that mimics the Porsche Macan. The bulbous rear end of the SUV hasn't changed much either. The familiar taillights are still taped off, but appear to be taken straight from the Giulia. The massive exhaust tips, though, are new and would be more at home on a sports car. With the Stelvio expected to get the same gasoline and diesel powertrains as the Giulia, the weapon-sized exhaust tips on the prototype hint towards the possibility of the SUV getting the 2.9-liter V6 from the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
