1973 Alfa Romeo Spider - 5 Speed Convertible. Spica Fuel Injection, Runs Great! on 2040-cars
Denver, Colorado, United States
1973 Alfa Romeo Spider
VIN: AR3041818 Miles: Odometer shows 65K. Unknown if this is accurate, but odometer works. Private seller. Non-smoker. Baby on the way, two door cars must go.
The early 70’s “S2” Spiders are some of the best and most desirable you can find. Lightweight, good power, great handling, small bumpers, and beautiful styling. This example is a great driver car; it runs, stops, shifts, drives, and handles amazing. Enjoy for many years ‘as is’, or restore as you go. I believe the paint is original; looks good from far, but is far from good. Some surface and some swiss cheese rust in the typical lower body exterior, but nothing structural.
Excellent compression on all cylinders: 140, 135, 135, 140 All instrument gauges and four main dash indicators work. Constant coolant temp at 180 degrees, constant oil pressure above 57 Heater works well and blows hot. Comes with new car cover.
No known accidents. Clean title in hand. Passed Colorado DMV inspection (all the important things WORK as they should), currently licensed and insured. Tasteful upgrades and/or newly replaced: JVC KD-X80BT head unit with remote plays digital music loaded on USB flash drive + four Blaupunkt GTX speakers, and Infinity Basslink 200-Watt, Dual 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Anthracite wheels; 15x7x30, 4x108; 73mm center bore High performance BF Goodrich Super Sport A/S Tires 205/50/ZR15 IAP performance headers, custom exhaust straight back to ANSA muffler Full SPICA rebuild by Wes Ingram in 2012, runs great. Maintenance and Tuneup guides included LED interior and exterior lighting – dash lighting is visible! K&N filter Recovered leather seats and dash cap Rebuilt driveshaft – no vibration! Upgraded to cross drilled rotors + rebuilt calipers. New clutch. New radiator. New Koni Sport shocks and performance springs (from IAP). New gas tank and fuel pump. New pointless distributor, Bosch coil, and battery. New top, boot cover, sump guard.
Chrome trim and new windshield included (existing windshield has wiper scratches across passenger side) New sport three spoke steering wheel. New firewall and roof track drainage tubes – no wet floors! Upgrades in the last 12 months alone total over $7,500 Known issues: Typical 2nd gear synco can crunch if not familiar with how to properly drive these cars, or ‘double clutch’ Non-structural rust spots in lower fenders and wheel arches – very repairable.
Dented nose. Slight transmission/Diff leak – maybe a drop or two per week? Very minimal for a 1973 Alfa. Previous owner temporally fixed eroding floorpans with thick aluminum plate reinforcement and undercoating. A solid fix, but if restoring, they will need attention.
Passenger window missing a gear tooth, but does fully roll up and down with slightly more effort than usual needed. Windshield washer reservoir cracked. Replacement bag type in hand but not installed. Pump and sprayers work. LED bulbs create a ‘fast blink’ issue on turn signals and dash turn signal indicator not flashing
Car is listed on other sites, I reserve the right to end auction early. Based on condition, rarity, upgrades, and comparable sales, I believe the price is fair. First $4000 takes it.
Buyer info: You are responsible for shipping, located in 80215. Half payment due at auction close, half upon receipt of vehicle. Paypal preferred. Serious inquires only. No warranty expressed or implied. Title is in hand and will be sent over night once full payment is received. I have a perfect Ebay seller and buyer rating, so bid with confidence. |

Alfa Romeo unveils Formula One car for new season
Mon, Feb 18 2019MONTMELO, Spain — Alfa Romeo has unveiled the new Formula One car that will be piloted by former champion Kimi Raikkonen this season. Raikkonen, teammate Antonio Giovinazzi and team principle Frederic Vasseur posed with the white-and-burgundy Alfa Romeo C38 in the pit lane of the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit before preseason testing started on Monday. Alfa Romeo is the rebranded name for the Sauber team this season. Raikkonen joined Alfa Romeo from Ferrari, where he won the Italian team's most recent drivers' title in 2007. The 39-year-old Finn is joined by Giovinazzi, a 25-year-old Italian with two Grand Prix races under his belt. Sauber finished eighth in the constructors' standings last year. More AP auto racing
Alfa Romeo Tonale Edizione Bambini concept is a stylish way to parent
Sun, Apr 2 2023Your grandparents' boots were made for walking, and they're still cool. Your parents' minvans were made for, well, you, and now that you're the car buyer, you've made it clear minivans are uncool. Crossovers and SUVs run family bus routes now, and they're simply not as handy for hauling the kiddie army as the playroom-on-wheels that is a minivan. Alfa Romeo has an idea about how to change that. The automaker's UK arm interviewed 2,000 parents to get insights about parent- and kid-friendly features. The results come together in a one-off called the Alfa Romeo Tonale Edizione Bambini — the Kid's Edition, as it were. The biggest gripe parents had was how hard it is to keep their vehicles clean. A spiffy leather organizer that Alfa Romeo should sell for every Tonale, not just the babyfied ones, hangs over both front seats. It's got shaped slots for a drink bottle, a bento box for snacks, and pens. It also protects the seat backs from the repeated kicks that children are known to apply during journeys. A small trash container sits on the floor behind the center console. And because parents today use a thing called a "reward chart," kids can keep track of their progress keeping the vehicle clean so mum and dad aren't embarrassed to take the boss for a ride. There are more cleaning supplies in the boots, these for the elders. They include a battery-powered vacuum charged by the Tonale, and a collapsible caddy with products like a boot cleaning brush, leather cleaner, tissues, and wet wipes.   Move vital parenting duties are aided by the retractable changing station in the cargo area and the baby monitor in the back seat. A survey by diaper brand Huggies found 86% of parents needed to change their child's diapers "on the move." The custom changing station can slide out from under the parcel shelf after the hatch is raised, and is upholstered in an easy to clean changing mat. The video monitor for kids in the back seat can be placed to watch over rearward- or forward-facing baby seats, the feed available in a smartphone app that guardians in the front row can check. The obligatory entertainment needs come courtesy of screens on the seatbacks, headphones hung from the seatback organizers, tablet pockets for up to three children, and a foldable toy caddy. For parents who consider "minivan" a four-letter word, this one-off Tonale is definitely a stylish solution to managing the warehouse of goods so many kids seem to travel with nowadays.
FCA reportedly joins the crowd skipping this year's Paris Motor Show
Thu, Jun 14 2018It's likely FCA vehicles will not be seen at the Paris Motor Show this year. Automotive News is reporting that Fiats, Alfa Romeos, Jeeps and Abarths will not be a part at the show, based on information circulating in the French media. There's a possibility that Maseratis will be displayed at a special section dedicated to upscale cars, but Maserati too will not have a show stand of its own. Ferrari will have a stand, but as it happens, the supercar maker has been a standalone brand since 2015. Skipping the Paris show follows FCA's decision not to take part in the Frankfurt show last year, and the two shows alternate as the biggest autumnal automotive show in Europe. Volkswagen will also not attend the event, and neither will Ford, Nissan or Infiniti. This has become a problem for car shows worldwide, including Detroit's North American International Auto Show. FCA has not released a formal statement about the matter, but a FCA spokesman, quoted by the French magazine L'Argus, reportedly said that the sales and publicity brought in by the show stand would not justify the costs of attending. The news mirrors Volvo's newly announced plan to not take part at the next Geneva Motor Show, but to arrange "bespoke activities" to introduce its cars instead. Related Video:
