1958 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Spider Convertible on 2040-cars
Bristol, Connecticut, United States
This car is part of my private collection. The car is all original that I know of with the exception of the radio. The engine number does not match. This car was completely restored in 1973 by a dealer in Connecticut. There is no rot and is in actually in really good overall extremely solid condition. The rocker panels are great. There were some paint bubbles that I sanded and primed over to preserve as you can see in the pics. I have since buffed out the nose of the car and have included the after photos. The car looks great just from what I did to the front nose since the primer spots are now down to a minimum. Things that have been done to the car: new
clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, rebuilt master cylinder, new
brakes and cylinders, fuel system cleaned. The car was running, I have
not started it in a while. The body is straight, the doors close like butter and all the electrical is in tact. All the glass is great, window
cranks work. The interior is in decent shape, the leather seats could use
either replacing or some new stuffing, there are a couple of small tears.
The top has holes in it and will need replacing. The tires and leather
suspension straps need replacing. All of the chrome pieces are on the car. Some dents on the grill. All can use a
re-chroming. The car looks great in person, its really dusty in the pics. It has been sitting in dry storage. Forgot to mention it was undercoated underneath in 1973, no rot there either. A light restore for immediate driving or a further in depth restore for the articulate collector. This car is an excellent candidate in exceptional condition, not like some of the other cars you see of the
same year. Overall with a bit of love and attention she could be a better
gem than she already is. Good Luck Bidding. Please do not bid
if you are not serious or if you have bad feedback. I take pride in my
100% positive feedback. The car is located
in Bristol Connecticut. Interested bidders can make an appointment to
come and see the car before the Auction comes to an end. The winning bidder is responsible for vehicle
pick up or shipping at his/her own expense. I will make every effort to
assist in the process. $2,000 Deposit via PayPal is required within
48 hours of the auction closing. Full Payment Required within 4 days of
auction close. If payment is not received within this time frame the car will be re-listed. Transfer will be made by a bill of sale. If you have any questions about the car you can reach me at 772-209-0718 Disclaimer: This
vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty, expressed, written or

Alfa Romeo returns to F1 as Sauber title sponsor
Wed, Nov 29 2017LONDON - Alfa Romeo will become title sponsor of the Sauber Formula One team next season as part of a multi-year technical and commercial partnership, both sides announced on Wednesday. "This agreement with the Sauber F1 Team is a significant step in the reshaping of the Alfa Romeo brand, which will return to Formula One after an absence of more than 30 years," Fiat Chrysler chief executive Sergio Marchionne said in a statement. Sauber announced in a statement of their own that the team will officially be known as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team from 2018 onwards. "Working closely with a car manufacturer is a great opportunity for the Sauber Group to further develop its technology and engineering projects," Sauber Holding AG chairman Pascal Picci said. "We are confident that together we can bring the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team great success, and look forward to a long and successful partnership."Reporting by Alan Baldwin.Related Video: Image Credit: REUTERS/Ueslei Marcelino Motorsports Alfa Romeo Racing Vehicles F1 Sergio Marchionne FCA
Touring's Disco Volante makes us green with envy [w/video]
Tue, Mar 4 2014In its entire production run, Alfa Romeo only ever built 500 examples of the 8C Competizione – just 90 of which ended up in the United States – and another 500 Spiders. That makes it a pretty rare car indeed, but it's positively commonplace compared to the Disco Volante, the version reborn by the talented and steady hands at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. In correspondece with Autoblog, Touring's CEO Piero Mancardi confirmed that the coachbuilder will only build eight examples of the Disco Volante, in colors chosen by their individual customers: one in black, one in blue, one in silver, the one in green you see here and the rest in different shades of red. That makes this particular example a one-of-a-kind work of art that we were privileged to behold here at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and you can see what we saw through the camera lens in the high-resolution image gallery above, or by checking out the video below. Weekly Recap: Chevy and Alfa plot comeback strategies
Sat, Jun 27 2015Chevrolet and Alfa Romeo were two of the 20th Century's most iconic automotive brands. Chevy embodied America's post-war power and confidence. Alfa was the definition of the stylish Italian sports car. They reached halcyon heights in the 1950s and '60s, before declining precipitously amid new competition, changing consumer tastes, and uneven corporate management. Both say 2015 is the start of something better, and this week Chevy and Alfa laid out ambitious plans and showcased new cars that they hope will make them more relevant this year, and in the coming years. Each brand sits at its own crossroads, and their paths forward are as different as the Chevy Cruze and the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Chevy is still a sales beast, as evidenced by its volume of 4.8 million vehicles sold around the world last year. Chevy executives are fond of saying one of their cars is sold every seven seconds, which illustrates the strength and reach of a car brand that is the fourth largest in the world. "Make no mistake about it, we are a brand for the people," said General Motors North America president Alan Batey. But he wants consumers to want to buy a Chevy for its design and technology, not simply because it's affordable. That starts with all Chevys now featuring a distinctive a family look, with sporty cues from the Corvette or strong lines that riff on the Silverado pickup. "We want people to fall in lust with our cars," said Mike Pevovar, executive design director for Chevy passenger cars. "That initial emotional attraction has to be right on the exterior, and that's where form comes into play." Chevy is also loading up its cars, like the freshly unveiled 2016 Chevy Cruze, with technology to appeal to a younger crowd that prizes connectivity. The Cruze will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with its MyLink infotainment system, and OnStar with 4G LTE and wifi. Seeking out younger buyers is also sound business practice: Millennials now outnumber Baby Boomers as the largest single age group in the United States. Younger buyers also can improve a brand's image, which is another area where Chevy would like to improve. Chevy ranks 82nd on Interbrand's Best Global Brand's list, behind 11 other automakers. Apple is No. 1. "We need our own variation of the Genius Bar," Batey said. 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia View 3 Photos Meanwhile, Alfa is in different shape.
