more than 10 years old restoration.  Normale car with Veloce set up ( dual weber carburetors and veloce header).   5 speed conversion using GTV gearbox. Engine has blank serial number.   It has been known that these blanks are dealer replaced engines.    It is the correct 750 series engine 1300cc for this model year.    It still has the original alfa Radio that is still working.   It is an older restoration so I  would not call it a show car, although i show it regularly at cars and coffee in irvine.   It is safe to called it a more than excellent weekend driver.    I have owned the car for 1 year.     The previous owner owns a ferrari restoration shop and restored this car in his shop.    I have a folder full of service receipts from previous owner, and also many services receipts under my ownership.   ODO shows 59k miles but i am not sure if original.

Paint in exellent condition, no nick, scratch, chip anywhere on the exterior.  The luster is still like new paint.   Paint on door jams are just average, but in good condition, it is not in show condition like the exterior.   Paint on dash board looks like original red factory paint, but i am not sure.     Paint in engine bay is in excellent condition, but not in show condition,  along the jams of the engine bay where the hood is resting on, the paint is not as shiny, but in average fair condition.  The underside of the hood lid is original alfa red crinkled paint.

No rust any where.  The underside looks very clean,  The paint from the restoration still clean underside the body with no dirt or rust build up.    There is one sign of rust repair near the transmission tunnel, but minor.    I would say this car was an excellent car before it was restored.

New convertible top, New Veloce Exhaust Header, and Exhaust system  from Centerline

Engine runs strong, no smoke.   Transmission has been converted to 5 speed with alfa GTV gear box.   All synchros are good, no grinding.    Engine does leak oil here and there.

5 new vredestein classic tires.

Nardi wooden steering wheel in exellent condition.

Chromes are exellent.   There is one small dent to the rear bumper , and the seam next to it is misaligned  a little as shown in last picture.   If you are really picky you can pop it out and adjust the bumper so that the seam is perfectly aligned.  But it is fine right now and hardly noticeable.

This car is my love and joy for the last year.  I spent a lot of money and time to make it perfect.   I  recently got a rare 15k mile honda s800 that i put the engine together myself, and 2 motorcycles, so my hands and my garage are full, It is time to let someone else enjoys the car.   I just have a reasonable low reserve to cover most of what i put in.   You're welcome to come inspect the car in Huntington Beach, CA.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years

Tue, 06 May 2014

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

Alfa Romeo's midsize sedan due in June, and we'll get it

Wed, Nov 26 2014

As the calendar shifts, so do Alfa Romeo's plans. At the LA Auto Show, Harald Wester, head of Alfa Romeo, said the brand would unveil its second US model – after the 4C – next June, but he wouldn't identify the type of car. A report in Automotive News Europe, quoting sources, says that it will be a midsize sedan in the mold of the erstwhile 159 (pictured) that was supposed to become the Giulia but now has a new brief and perhaps a new name. "Giulia" should be familiar because we've been hearing about it for more than three years – in fact it was 2011 when it was thrown back on the drawing board for a complete redesign. Last year the plan – or the anonymously-sourced bits of the plan that we kept getting – were for the platform to go rear-wheel drive and do duty for both a BMW 3 Series and 5 Series competitor. ANE's latest intel is that the coming midsize sedan will be come in between the 3 Series and 5 Series – a strategy used by the original Cadillac CTS – slotting in beneath a "flagship sedan" that would fit between the 5 Series and 7 Series. That would appear to contradict a direct challenge to the entry-level segment's standard-bearer, and perhaps the M3, too. Those two Alfa sedans would be part of an eight-model onslaught happening over the next four years, which is a new matrix compared to April of this year when that was reported to be six models over the next five years. ANE says work has started on three of them, a midsize SUV said to be the third. The push is to get Alfa to 400,000 annual sales – 100,000 more than the April target – with the US accounting for 150,000 of that. News Source: Automotive News Europe - sub. req. Reid Bigland appointed CEO of Alfa Romeo, Maserati

Tue, May 24 2016

There's been a big shakeup in Fiat Chrysler's leadership team, as head of US sales and FCA Canada CEO Reid Bigland will replace Harald Wester as the chief exec for Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Wester will retain his position as chief technical officer of FCA. Both men will hang onto their positions on FCA's Group Executive Council. The move is an interesting one considering the widely publicized issues at both Alfa and Maserati. Alfa Romeo's problems are almost too many to list. The brand has promised a full-scale return to the US market for more than a decade, but faced repeated delays. Its latest volume model, the Giulia, is being savaged by reviewers over quality issues, and the company has frequently pushed its upcoming CUV back. If that were the only problem, it'd be annoying, but according to Automotive News, Alfa's relaunch is also considerably over budget. Maserati is an entirely different can of worms. Alongside Alfa, it's been stung by a slow Chinese market. Profits are down, according to Automotive News, and it's been widely rumored that the company will delay its next sports car, the Alfieri, until 2018 – it was previously promised for this year. Meanwhile, two of its three other models, the Quattroporte and GranTurismo, are dangerously long in the tooth, and the Levante is still months away from US sales. Can Bigland sort these issues out? Maybe. As Sergio Marchionne said in his official statement, "[Bigland] has an extraordinary record of growing sales and market share in the US and Canada over the last 7 years at FCA, including leading the growth and positioning of the Ram and Dodge brands for part of that time."
