Dear ...

Yours, Sincerely,

This Spider has been professionally converted to Dual Weber 40 DCOE Carburators that add to reliability and performance. In addition, this car was equipped with PC452 Street Performance Camshafts from Centerline. It is very quick and keeps pulling all the way to the top. I'm not sure of the top speed as the needle goes well beyond the speedometer's final marking. Facet electronic fuel pump with built-in fuel filter has been installed in the location of the stock unit. The car has 4 wheel disc brakes and a Limited Slip Differential. I also installed a new custom exhaust from the mid pipe back with catalytic delete.
Interior: It is in very good, almost excellent condition. The dash has NO cracks whatsoever as the car has been garage kept. Top is in excellent, near new shape with clear rear window. The top folds up and down with just one hand. Seats are in very good shape with no tears, few dirt spots which is typical for light colored convertible interiors. They recline, adjust and go back and forth on tracks perfectly. Carpets are factory original molded set in good shape. Trunk has the factory carpeting with an original battery cover.
Steering wheel wood and shifter are matching shades of wood and are very good. Center console is clean and tight. There's no radio but these cars sound so beautiful you would never use it anyway.
Body: I bought the car with minor rust in the right fender and a ding in the nose that was repaired at a professional shop in Pasadena, California with an excellent color tint and match. There are few nicks on the paint but the body is straight. Underside is dry and clean.
Tires are in almost new condition and are mounted on model correct Turbina wheels.
Electricals: All gauges are operational. All lights work, including side marker lights, hi/lo beams, turnsignals, etc. Interior turn signal indicator bulb burnt out. I checked the leads with a tester and all it needs is a replacement bulb. Wipers work on low and high.
This car does not overheat even in the LA traffic. It has been my daily driver and I tend to put over 70 miles per day. Car tracks straight. Brakes are good. Recent oil change using Valvoline Synthetic VR1 oil and K&N filter.
So, then why am I selling such a great Alfa Spider? I need something with more than just one passenger seat. As such, I am willing to let go of my Spider and find an early Berlina or Giulia. In fact, I am open to barter for a very clean one.
I am listing the car in auction format but also with BIN price. As a bonus for BIN buyer, I will include a 74 Serie 2 Spider complete but not running. The 74 comes with the highly desirable steel front and rear bumpers, factory exhaust header, earlier door trim panels and other trim items. It is mechanically complete as well and is rolling on Cromodora Daytona factory alloys. It has a straight body but with some rust. Overall its a restoration worth its while as the early Serie 2 Spiders are climbing in price or you can use the bumpers and the rest of the rare early pieces to complement the 79. The 74 is included at the BIN price ONLY.
Please note that this is 34 year old car and even though it looks and runs great it is not represented as new or as restored. Please feel free to ask any question or request additional photos. The car is listed on sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time!
Special word to scammers: Please do not bother here. This is not my first sale over the internet so if you are not physically present, work on an oil rig, doubled over in a remote hospital or came into a fortune that you would need access to except without my help, please DON'T bother! I will pursue scams to the full extent that Ebay allows!

For his last act, Marchionne will outline an EV/hybrid roadmap this week
Wed, May 30 2018MILAN/LONDON — Fiat Chrysler (FCA) boss Sergio Marchionne is expected to outline new plans for electric and hybrid cars in a strategy presentation on Friday, aiming to ensure the world's seventh-largest carmaker remains in the race in the absence of a merger. The 65-year-old will present FCA's strategy to 2022, his final contribution to the company he turned around and multiplied in value through 14 years of canny dealmaking. After failing to secure a tie-up he said was necessary to manage the costs of producing cleaner vehicles, Marchionne needs to show the group can keep churning out profits on its own, even as emissions rules tighten, SUV competition intensifies and worries around his succession abound. Marchionne had long refused to jump on the electrification bandwagon, saying he would only do so if selling battery-powered cars could be done at a profit. He even urged customers not to buy FCA's Fiat 500e, its only battery-powered model, because he was losing money on each sold. But Tesla's success and the need to comply with tougher emissions rules have forced Marchionne to commit to what he calls "most painful" spending. "FCA is way behind rivals in terms of hybrid and electric vehicles and they need to hit the accelerator to convince investors they can close that gap," said Andrea Pastorelli, a fund manager at 8a+ Investimenti. Germany's Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW and U.S. rivals GM and Ford have committed to spending billions of euros each in coming years to try produce profitable cars powered by cleaner fuels. FCA needs to present a clear roadmap, just like Volvo Cars, which ditched diesel from its best-selling XC60 SUV, launched a new electric brand and pledged to shift all brands to hybrid by 2019, a banking source close to FCA said, noting: "The tech divide determines winners and losers in the industry." Marchionne has already said half of the wider FCA fleet will incorporate some elements of electrification by 2022, while luxury marque Maserati will spearhead FCA's electrification drive by making all new models due after 2019 electric. But its plans remain vaguer and less advanced than most big rivals and some investors wonder about the capital required to make vehicles compliant, and what share of spending can go to electrification given FCA's numerous demands.
Abarth 1000 SP is a retro-styled Alfa Romeo 4C
Sat, May 15 2021With the whittled-down Fiat lineup in the U.S., you might've forgotten about the brand's sporty division Abarth. But the brand is still active, still selling sporty Fiats in Europe, and now it has created a one-off roadster to celebrate its racing history. It's the Abarth 1000 SP, and it's styled and named after a 1966 race car that won its class at the 500-kilometer Nurburgring race that year. As other news outlets have noted, it's pretty obvious the Abarth 1000 SP is a restyled Alfa Romeo 4C (also disappearing from both the U.S. and overseas markets), even if Abarth doesn't say so specifically. That's not a bad, thing, though, being both an impressive sports car and one bearing the kind of curves that are perfect for the lines of the original car. The 1966 car's low pointy nose, curvy fenders and myriad vents and scoops fit great, and we also dig the exposed roll bar and cut-down rear cowls. The rear bumper maybe looks a little awkward, but overall, we think it's a well-executed car. Mechanically, it seems unchanged from the 4C. It has the same 1,742-cc turbocharged four-cylinder making 240 horsepower and sitting in the same carbon fiber and aluminum chassis. As such, it should probably be called the Abarth 1740 SP or 1700 SP rather than 1000, since the original was named after the displacement of the modified Fiat 600 engine it used. The car is just a one-off, so you won't be able to purchase one, but you might be able to see it at a European car show or museum someday. Related Video:
Alfa Romeo 4C will be refreshed for the 2019 model year
Sun, Dec 10 2017Alfa Romeo Chief Technical Officer Roberto Fedeli said at a launch event for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio that an updated version of the 4C is coming next year as a 2019 model. "We are coming back to Formula 1," he said, "and we need the 4C to be our halo car," Fedeli told Autocar. But don't expect to see the refresh bring with it a manual transmission. No future high-performance models from Alfa, Maserati, or even Ferrari will be getting clutch pedals anytime soon, a decision reportedly made after Ferrari spent 10 million euros developing a manual gearbox for the California a few years back only to see exactly two customers choose the option over an automatic. We'd hazard a guess that Alfa will tone down its carbon-fiber 4C for the next generation. As fun as the little sportscar is on a race track, it's equally jarring to drive on regular roads. A revised suspension and perhaps power steering may be on the menu. Related Video:
