This Classic Alfa has the power and runs great. There are 4 cylinders in line, aluminum-alloy head and block. The overhead valves are in 80-degree vee, operated directly by dual chain-driven overhead camshafts acting on oil bathed followers. Five main bearings. Torsional crank-shaft vibration damper. Sodium-cooled exhaust valves. Cylinder capacity: 1972 cc. Compression ratio: 9.0:1. Maximum torque: 110 pound-feet @ 3500 rpm. Top speed: 115mph!

It is sold by the daughter of the original owner. She re-registered it when her father died but didn't drive it. Malibu Surplus Inc. is helping the family sell the car. There is clear title. The body is in near perfect shape and it has the original yellow paint with the exception of the black racing stripe that the father added.

There are some pieces of cork in this fine wine. There are several gauges that don't work: fuel and water temp. The lights don't come on. I have looked for the fuse box but haven't found it. The horn is silent.  The dashboard has a sun crack. There is suspension vibration from 60mph-75mph. At 55 & 80 mph the car is happy! THIS CAR DESERVES RESTORATION FROM A DEVOTEE.

Because of this we are offering the Alfa at below low blue-book!!! In the LA area make contact for a test drive!!!

Autoblog Podcast #317:

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo models recalled over rust fears

Mon, 20 May 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced Maserati and Alfa Romeo are recalling certain Quattroporte, Granturismo and 8C models over potentially faulty tie rod ends. According to NHTSA, 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo and 2008 8C units may have been assembled with tie rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection. As such, the components may rust, weaken and potentially fail. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will contact owners and replace the tie rod end assemblies once the recall gets underway in June. All told, 7,438 vehicles are impacted by the recall. You can read the full NHTSA notice below for more information.
