Alfa Romeo Spider 1976 With Dual Webers on 2040-cars

Year:1976 Mileage:0
Location:

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Selling this 1976 Alfa spider for a friend, no reserve auction.

This is his description…
I purchased the car May 2010 and drove it home from Smyrna, Georgia.
The car had never been in a collision, but had its share of dings and one repaint other than the factory.
I stripped the car to bare metal, welded in a few patches,
welded up the side marker holes, (Euro look!) body worked the car, painted it a year ago,
with a new clear coat I had never used, and had multiple runs, a couple of which did not block out,
so a few of panels should  to be repainted.
That being said, the clear coat is now very hard and not wanting to buff easily.
While it is disassembled it might be easier to wet block and repaint the entire car, otherwise it will be a chore buffing it.
The vehicle comes without  a battery.
The only rust not repaired is the spare wheel tire well and you can see the piece to replace it that I am including.
The car does have a BRAND NEW windshield, still has the sticker on it,
and all the rubber brake lines are also brand new,
It has a NEW set of tires that I put on it on it 6 months after buying it, that still have yet to see the road.
It has dual Webers 40s, without a choke cable, but it does run
and 2nd gear has the notorious grind.  (typical but could be the slave cylinder)
Keep in mind, I did drive the car home from Smyrna when I bought it, but since then one of the front calipers has seized up.
It will move to load on a trailer but should not be driven until the caliper is fixed.
Comes ‘as is’ and pick up is in Ellijay, Georgia. (about 75  minutes outside of Atlanta.)
It was a complete car when it rolled in here and I have all the parts to make it complete once again.
Sold with current registration and a notarized Bill of Sale.
Thank you for looking.

Is Alfa Romeo readying 4C Spider for Detroit reveal?

Wed, Dec 31 2014

The 2015 Detroit Auto Show just keeps looking like one of the best automotive events in the Motor City in years, and it seems increasingly likely that we're going to see another sports car reveal there with the production Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. The latest hint towards the unveiling of the Spider comes from FCA's own blog. In a story about the first customer deliveries of the 4C Launch Edition, the last sentences nearly let the cat out of the bag: "Alfa Romeo plans to introduce eight new models by 2018. You'll get your next Alfa fix at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January." Just looking at the roofline of the 4C, it's pretty clear that a convertible was in the cards from the very beginning. Alfa confirmed that with the Spider concept (pictured below) at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and reaffirmed the drop top in the company's five-year plan. Further evidence for the fast approaching debut came recently when a fully production-spec 4C Spider (pictured above) was spotted being professionally filmed in Spain. It sported some changes over the concept, including a cooling inlet on the driver's side rear fender and exhausts at the corners, instead of the center. Alfa Romeo Giulia runs the Nurburgring

Sat, Aug 22 2015

Usually when spying a pre-production car, the goal is to figure out what it looks like underneath the camouflage. However, that's not a concern with his video of a heavily concealed Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio because the design was already fully revealed. Instead, this is an opportunity to listen to the upcoming sports sedan lapping the Nurburgring. For a vehicle with just 2.5 years of development by only 11 people, the Giulia certainly makes all the right noises. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine has a growling note as the sedan speeds away, and there's no audible turbo whistle – at least in this clip. The sound is angry but still somewhat subdued for a mill making 510 horsepower. The test driver here is really pushing things, and the tires are squealing through practically every corner. The Alfa's rear end even steps out a little a few times. The Giulia is slated to arrive in the US in the first half of 2016. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing the sedan again at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, where some additional powertrains are rumored to debut. Related Video:

Marchionne offers belated apology for 'wop engine' comment

Wed, 22 May 2013

Automotive News reports Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has issued a written apology for his comments regarding his decision to stick with an Italian engine for the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C. As you may recall, back in January, Marchionne was quoted as saying, "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it has to be a wop engine." The CEO penned an apology to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition for using the racial epithet, saying that he made the comment in jest. Marchionne also said he realizes his remarks were unacceptable.
ONE VOICE, an organization aimed at fighting discrimination and stereotyping of Italian Americans, thanked Marchionne, Chrysler and Fiat for the apology. Marchionne is an Italian-born Canadian citizen, and he's gotten in trouble for other comments in the past. In 2011, he called high interest rates Chrysler was paying to the Canadian government "shyster rates." He apologized a day later.
