This 1984 Alfa Romeo is a Great example of a driver condition Spider. The car runs and drives excellently with no mechanical problems to note.  I have not really had the time I thought I was going to in order to enjoy it this summer, and need to raise money for other projects. I have owned this car the least amount of time of any in my collection, therefore I have the least amount of sentimental attachment to it. The paint and body are very acceptable, the car shows very well and only has a few minor chips and a small dent in the nose. There is no body rust or rust or rust  in the frame whatsoever, however the spare tire well has rusted through in places. This is not visible unless the trunk is open and the wheel is removed, or the car is on a lift, there is no danger of the wheel falling out. a brand new tire well can be ordered from a catalog I will include for something to the effect of $125 but this really isn't necessary. The interior is in great condition, with the only issue to note being that the trunk release panel has come loose and the trunk must be released by pulling on the cable. again, this is a part that is available brand new in the aforementioned Alfa/Fiat catalog. I had bought this car as a project a few months ago and have just recently finished it. as far as I know the only things this car really needs now are for the A/C to be charged (it blows cool, not cold) and the vent fan to be lubed, a right turn signal bulb to be changed, the trunk release panel replaced, and one of the "Spider Veloce" scripts replaced. there is also the typical difficulty with second gear, it does not usually grind, but it is tough to get in to second sometimes. I had really intended on just keeping it, but after spending nearly $2500 on repairs and parts and with so many other things requiring my attention and money right now, I do not have much choice but to let it go. Everything listed below was done by my Mechanic, who has serviced this car for both myself and the previous owner, aside from the radiator replacement and oil/air filter changes which I did myself. I have receipts for all work completed. I will also include the tool necessary for removing the license plate, and the one for removing the oil drain plug, as well as a spare belt.

I or my mechanic have completed the following within the past 3 months-

Clutch replaced

Rear wheel bearings replaced

Drive shaft couplings replaced

Axel shaft collar and seals replaced

Differential oil changed

Engine oil and filter changed (Mobile 1 15w50 synthetic)

Radiator and radiator hoses replaced (Brand new, not from salvage)

Changed the air filter to a high flow K&N.

*The soft top is near brand new, but it was replaced by the previous owner, so it is probably close to a year old.

This really is a fun little car that does not require anything to be enjoyable the day it is delivered to the winning bidder. As I stated, it is a driver, not a show car, so it has small imperfections, but overall it shows well, runs and drives excellently, and has had lots of recent maintenance. It should offer lots of motoring fun for years to come. I will be more than happy to answer any questions about the car from serious bidders. the buyer is responsible for shipping charges and arrangement, please only bid if you have the means to pay for it.

Fiat 124 Abarth Spider spied, may get Alfa 4C power

Tue, Jul 14 2015

We've long been excited to see, hear, and drive the car that results from the in-process Fiat-Mazda partnership. The Italian brand has had access to the excellent 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata on which to base its own roadster, and the fruits of that labor will soon ripen. Spied here is not only the ensuing Fiat 124, but a hotter Abarth tuned version of the spider. At least, that's what we're hoping. Our spy shooters indicated that the car seen here not only sounded more aggressive than 'standard' 124 mules seen previously, but that it also accelerated away from their long lenses with a smartness. The 124 Spider is already rumored to make use of the 1.4-liter turbo I4 that makes 160 horsepower in the Fiat 500 Abarth, and this version may have a still-more-powerful engine. Another tell about the added output are the quad tailpipes in place of the lesser car's set of two. There's no hard evidence to support exactly which engine might be under the 124's hood, however. It's possible that the 1.7-liter turbo from Alfa Romeo 4C could be in play – with its 237-hp output – as the 124 was originally going to wear an Alfa badge. If that were to happen, however, the Fiat would almost certainly get a dual-clutch transmission instead of the purer manual box. In any event, more details about the car will no doubt crop up closer to the expected reveal this fall. Related Video:

Mazda and Fiat finalize deal for Alfa roadster, next-gen MX-5 Miata

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

Although a little bit later than expected, Mazda and Fiat have signed a final agreement that will bring a next-generation MX-5 Miata to the Japanese automaker and a new roadster to Alfa Romeo. When the proposed arrangement was announced back in May, the two automakers had hoped to seal the deal last year, but it doesn't appear that the production timeline for these cars has slipped any, with both expected to start rolling off assembly lines in 2015.
Other than a shared chassis with a rear-wheel-drive layout, it sounds like the two cars are still planned to be distinct in their own ways from their styling right down to their engines. Mazda will produce both cars at a plant in Hiroshima, Japan, but it isn't clear what role each automaker will play in the cars' developmental process. The big question, of course, is what clever portmanteau name we can come up with, like Toyobaru. Mazda Romeo is the easy choice, but Alfazda might roll off the tongue a little better.
Scroll down for a brief press release from both automakers.

Alfa Romeo Zagato-designed Giulia-derived coupe previewed

Wed, Dec 7 2022

Alfa Romeo's long-awaited return to the coupe segment may be imminent. The company published an enigmatic preview image on its social media channels that shows the rear end of what's labeled the "Giulia SWB Zagato," and it pledged to release more details in the near future. While there's not much we can glean by looking at the dark teaser, we can at least say with near-certainty that the coupe won't look much like the Giulia when viewed from the back. The photo depicts a thin strip of LEDs that seemingly stretches across the entire rear end, and the basic silhouette is vaguely reminiscent of the Giulia TZ (Tubolare Zagato) and TZ2 coupes built in very limited numbers during the 1960s. Beyond that, your guess regarding what we're looking at is as good as ours. The name strongly suggests that the coupe will be Giulia-based, shorter than the sedan, and designed jointly with Zagato. Company boss Jean-Philippe Imparato has previously confirmed that the two-door model will make its debut at some point in 2023 and he clarified that it will be "very exciting, very selective, and very expensive." To us, it sounds like the coupe will land as a limited-edition model rather than as a regular-production addition to the company's range. What the coupe will be powered by is up in the air as well. Given the Giulia-derived platform, we wouldn't be surprised if power comes from a version of the 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 that powers the range-topping Quadrifoglio. The six develops 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque in Alfa Romeo's BMW M3 fighter but those figures could increase in the coupe. Rear-wheel-drive should come standard. Alfa Romeo will publish additional details about the Giulia SWB Zagato in the coming weeks, and we'll see the coupe by the end of 2023. Related video: Design/Style Alfa Romeo Coupe Luxury Performance
