Up for sale is a classic 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider.  Was is storage for almost a decade.  Have clean and clear Nevada title in hand.

Car has had recent tune up, all fluids changed and SPICA fuel pump replaced.  Have recipts for pump replacement.  Runs very well and strong.  New master cylinder.  Nice quick little car.  Gets good fuel economy while cruising.

The body is strait and doen't show any signs of rust damage, has some monor surface rust on driver door where the paint chipped off.  Also spot on right front headlight where paint chipped off.  Car is complete and everything works as it should.  The top is in great condition but but the rear window was removed from the prior owner for some reason that I cannot answer for.  The window does come with the sale of the car and is in the trunk of the Alfa.  Car does have low original miles of 91K.

Interior is in really good shape for its age.  The seats look great with no rips, rot or tears.  The door panels look nice with no damage just normal wear.  The dash has a few cracks on the top due to age and weather.  The center console looks as it were recovered at one point, looks good.  All the glass have no scratches or damage.  Door glass roll up and down with ease.

The only down side that I see with the car are the tires, they hold air and have plenty of tread, just the side walls have small cracks from the weather.

This is a nice little car that just needs a little TLC to make a perfect car.  I do have a low reserve compared to a lot of Alfas listed for auction.  This will make a new owner happy.

Share price falls on skepticism of Chrysler-Fiat five-year plan

Thu, 08 May 2014

Following this week's Fiat Chrysler extravaganza, where the Italian-American manufacturer announced its plans for the next five years, the Autoblog staff was cautiously optimistic of the company's future. Investors? Not so much.
Fiat saw its shares tumble 12 percent in Wednesday's trading, falling from 8.67 euros ($12.06 at today's rates) to 7.44 euros ($10.35) as of this writing, with blame partly going to the Italian half of the FCA marriage, which recorded a pretty significant drop in profits during the first quarter of this year.
The plan, which will cost around $77 billion over the next several years, is facing criticism from investors thanks in part to a 1.4-percent drop in Fiat's first-quarter profits, to 622 million euros ($862 million). That figure is also short of Bloomberg analysts' projections, which predicted $1.18 billion in profits before taxes, interest and one-time items.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo models recalled over rust fears

Mon, 20 May 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced Maserati and Alfa Romeo are recalling certain Quattroporte, Granturismo and 8C models over potentially faulty tie rod ends. According to NHTSA, 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo and 2008 8C units may have been assembled with tie rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection. As such, the components may rust, weaken and potentially fail. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will contact owners and replace the tie rod end assemblies once the recall gets underway in June. All told, 7,438 vehicles are impacted by the recall. You can read the full NHTSA notice below for more information.
