Costa Mesa, California, United States
Nice 1989 Alva Milano Verde. Acquired last year with the intention of adding an Evolution body kit and keeping forever since they are rare. I had many cars and this was the last one. I was hoping that I will be able to keep it but sadly I have let it go too. It carries a salvage title from New York state from the year 2000 due to a minor accident as I was informed by previous owner. I had it checked before purchase and there was nothing wrong with it. Any how, previous owner had it for the last 13 years after it was fixed. The car has lots of of nice features. Please look at the pictures as they are from a couple of days ago. Here is a quick break down: Exterior: is in very good condition. Has been painted at some point in its life. Some minor dings, one dint in passenger rear door one rust spot around the same area. Roof is done in Mat black plastic dip. Newer headlights. Newer Grill. Euro Tail lights with clear lens & amber signals. No crack or nicks in all glass. All lights work. Overall 8/10 Interior: No Cracks in Dash or door panels. All door handles/grams are intact and function correctly. Front seats are clean as you can see. Rear passenger seat a little worn. Carpets are good. Headliner is newer with gray suede like material and original black sunroof. Nice contrast if you ask me that matches seats. New Driver's side cushion. New leather shift knob and MOM steering wheels in perfect condition. No crack is center armrest (nice and soft). 9.5/10 Electrical: All switches function correctly. 9/10 Mechanical: Lots have been spent on maintenance. Engine was completely overhauled by previous owner. I spent over 2K in maintenance work to make sure I get no surprises for a long time. (i.e. timing belt, belts, water pump, thermostat, hoses, plugs....etc.). Very good brakes, Sharp steering. 9.5/10 Exhaust: Very nice ANSA dual tip Muffler sounds incredible). Brand new Cat installed a month ago to get car registered and smog legal in California. 9/10. NO MECHANICAL UPGRADES...ALLL STOCK *TSW 16 Inch alloys (total of 5 rims) Good rubber by General Tire. *NO LEAKS *NO SQUEECKS *NO RATTLES *NEW CAT (passed California smog test with flying colors) *Leather Shift knob *MOMO steering wheel *KONI Sport shocks all around *Lowered with rear springs and adjusting torsion bars to match. *Kenwood CD/MP3/USB Blue tooth head unit *JBL Front speakers (Seperates) *HiFonics 6x9 rears with 164 covers to match size. One of the best milanos I have ever owned. Tranny shifts like it should. No synchro problems here. Clutch is light on your foot and engages and dis engages like it should. Very fast car. A real head turner too. NO MECHANICAL ISSUES. A real nice Alfa for some one who wants the LAST YEAR for Milanos in the US. One last note. Please have funds available. Put all your doubts to rest before you bid and or win. Ask questions first. Other than what I have described I have no other info to share really. Please read entire listing. No ridiculous offers please. I know what I have and its worth every penny I am asking. If you are looking for a project Alfa, this is not it. Maserati Grecale and Alfa Romeo Tonale delayed
Mon, Oct 18 2021MILAN — Maserati on Monday delayed the launch of its new Grecale SUV until the spring of 2022 from November this year due to a global chip shortage. The announcement by the luxury brand, part of Stellantis, comes as a shortage of semiconductors forces automakers around the world to slow or suspend production. Maserati said its decision stemmed from ongoing disruptions in the supply of parts. "In particular, due to a scarcity of semiconductors, production volumes would not adequately meet expected global demand," Maserati said in a statement. A global premiere for the Grecale, which will be produced in Cassino in central Italy, was initially scheduled for Nov. 16. Stellantis this month also confirmed it would present the Tonale, the new Alfa Romeo SUV, next March after it had been expected at the end of this year. Stellantis, formed this year though the merger of Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has halted production at several plants, including in Europe and Canada, due to the chip shortage. It has forecast it will produce 1.4 million fewer vehicles this year. The FIM-CISL union has said the impact of a semiconductor shortage on Stellantis' Italian production this year will be worse and longer-lasting than the damage to output caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Industrial designer seeking classic car, sketches his finds as he shops
Tue, Jan 20 2015The process of shopping for a vintage car can be both a joy and a nightmare. Wrapped up with the exciting opportunity of owning a classic is the anxiety of picking just the right one. Canadian industrial design professor Bruce Thomson and his wife are chronicling all of those ups and downs in a fascinating way. On their blog Kicking Vintage Tyres, Bruce exploits his talent as an expert draftsman to create detailed sketches of the vehicles they are considering, along with driving impressions of each one. The idea for the site started on a whim. After selling his 1971 Mercedes-Benz 220 a while back, it was time to own another classic. Bruce was looking at a Triumph TR6, and a friend asked for a description of the car. Bruce responded with a massive email detailing everything he saw, and the concept for the blog was born. "It dawned on me early that my search was not going to be as easy or as quick as I had expected," he said to Autoblog in an email. "I decided that the best thing I could do would be to make a sort of 'game' out of the search by sharing it with others." Thomson's sketches truly set the blog apart. He clearly has an exceptional eye for a car's lines and often mixes his drawings with inset depictions of key portions of the vehicle. Beyond just the fabulous diagrams, the site is a great read too. While the TR6 initially topped the list, Thomson's search has broadened over time, and a Series 2 Alfa Romeo Spider and BMW 3.0CS also received consideration. "I'd not commit myself to any preferences though, as my head is easily turned," he said. The criteria are that the car must have a manual gearbox, be made between 1959 and 1976, preferably European, hopefully a convertible and cost 15,000-25,000 Canadian dollars ($12,525-$20,870). No matter how long it takes, this is a wonderful hunt to follow along with. Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato briefly teased, could be a coupe
Mon, Dec 19 2022Earlier this month, Alfa Romeo and Zagato teased the upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato with a single image of an unbroken LED taillight outlining what looked like a Kamm-back rear end. Zagato recently published a few more teasers to its Instagram page, but someone might have pressed the Send button too soon — the video and images are gone from the source. No matter, because this is the internet. The new shots hint at something that could justify Alfa Romeo boss Jean-Philippe Imparato's assessment that the vehicle will be "very exciting, very selective, and very expensive." The image with the carbon-backed driver's seat contains a new rear window shutline and a crossbar. The redrawn glasshouse leads us to believe this will be a coupe, making the most of that Short Wheelbase designation. Some have called the crossbar a roll cage, but it looks to us like the kind of brace used in some cars that omit their rear seats, like the original Bentley Continental GT Supersports. The engine shot doesn't give anything away except the Quadrifoglio badge. The twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 could come with the same 505 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque as the Giulia Quadrifoglio, it could be uprated to the 532 hp and 442 lb-ft of the special edition Giulia GTAm, or, as buyers would hope, it could go beyond that. We'd expect the output to be sent through Alfa's eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Zagato standards like new mesh vents and a vented hood make their appearances elsewhere. The grille gets printed with a stylized version of the red cross and crowned viper in Alfa Romeo's logo between the tri-section headlights that should debut on the facelifted Giulia. In back, a closer shot of the taillights gives away segments between LEDs, so the rear end won't be a continuous clamshell piece like the vintage Giulia TZ and Giulia TZ2. Detail bits like a carbon fiber front splitter and another take on the five-leaf-clover wheels from the Giulia GTA will make for dark and shiny jewelry. The Giulia TZ debuted in 1963, the Giulia SWB Zagato will be the 50th birthday present to the original. Market launch is rumored to come in March next year, an official debut should come not long before that. Â
