EXCELLENT INVESTMENT! Up for auction with NO RESERVE!!! is an extremely rare, Bertone Designed, time capsule, 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal. The car is titled as a 1967, This could have been a simple typo on dmv paperwork or something to do with import smog laws in California when it came to the states in the 1980's? Obviously this car is a 1971 model do to the factory vin number in engine compartment. This car recently came out of a climate controlled private collection where it was lovingly stored. This car is in wonderful, original condition. The paint is nice and shines very well for its age. The chrome and bright work are in great original condition and look great against the bright red. There are a few small cracks in the paint as seen in the pictures. The glass is all original to the car and in great shape with no nicks or cracks. The original Alfa Romeo wheels are in fantastic shape and look almost new. There is no curb rash present and they are extremely clean. There are five total including a full size spare in the trunk as seen in the pictures. The tires have plenty of tread and are in great shape. The interior is in excellent shape for it's age. This car has the option of leather seats, extremely rare option to find on a Montreal. The seats are in great condition with only one small hole on the side of each as seen in the pictures. They have adjustable headrests with wood accents. The dash has one crack as seen in pic, very clean for its age. All the gauges work although the speedo can jump a bit every once in a while. The current mileage reads 48,900 KM and is believed to be original. The fuel gauge works and appears accurate. The temperature gauge works and appears accurate. The tach works and appears accurate. The dash lights work as does the emergency brake light. These gauges are all in Italian and the speedo is in km/hr. The headlights work, the high beams work, the brake lights work. The emergency brake works. Power windows work. The power windows go up and down freely but could probably use some light lubrication. The heater and defroster appear to work as does the horn. The carpet is clean. The headliner is in excellent shape and original to the car. The door panels are in great shape for their age and original to the car. The factory 2.6 Liter Dual Overhead-Cam V8 sounds simply amazing! The factory fuel injection works great with no problems and the engine is extremely clean and well kept as you can see in the pictures. When you rev it and hear the superb sound you understand why Alfa Romeo's derive such passion and love from their owners and car aficionado's the world over. The factory ZF 5-Speed manual transmission shifts great and goes through all the gears smoothly with no binding or sticking. The factory limited slip differential works great with no issues. Brand new battery installed with no charging issues at all. The factory double wishbone suspension with coil springs makes this car ride great! It is smooth going down the road and is a very comfortable ride. The manual steering works well and really gives the driver a feeling of being connected to the road and increases the driving experience exponentially. The power brakes work great and the car stops in a straight line with no pulling to either side. This car is a complete joy to drive and beyond that is is extremely comfortable for a classic Italian sports car. The Bertone design is unmistakable and timeless. From 1970-1977 there were 3917 Alfa Romeo Montreals produced and a very small number of those still survive today, let alone being found in the U.S. This is an excellent investment/collector car as recently prices are starting to rise dramatically as these hidden gems are found. This is not a car you can just go out and find. They very rarely come on the market in such original, survivor condition. Most people have never even seen one in person. Earlier this year at the Gooding Auction a 1971 Alfa Romeo sold for $176,000.00. That car was in restored condition and was not equipped with factory leather. It also has a later production # by about 500 units. The previous year a 1973 sold for $99000.00. Also with a later production #. This shows a 56% increase in 12 months. This car can be enjoyed as a survivor or do a full restoration on the car and when you're finished you will have a $200,000.00 piece of art that you can drive. The original owners manual is included. Alfa Romeo limits Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING editions to 110 units
Wed, Apr 17 2019The 505-horsepower Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and the 505-horsepower Giulia Quadrifoglio are two of the most exclusive, powerful, and attractive four-door vehicles on the market. In the past, they've both set records at Germany's Nurburgring, and Alfa has created limited-edition packages to honor the spirit of the legendary racetrack. The NRING-edition cars will be limited to 110 total examples. If this sounds familiar, it's because the idea is not new. In June of 2018, Alfa Romeo announced NRING packages for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. At the time, we believed the special-editions would not be coming to America; turns out we were incorrect. The tweaks start with the paint, as the NRING cars are only available in matte Circuito Gray. As its association with motorsport and racing continues, carbon fiber has been applied to the mirror caps, the "V scudetto" front grille, the roof on the Giulia, and the side sills on the Stelvio. Red brake calipers with white scrip hide behind dark 19-inch wheels on the Giulia and 20-inch wheels on the Stelvio. The Stelvio also gets a dual-pane sunroof. Inside, Alfa Romeo added a carbon fiber steering wheel, a carbon fiber shifter bezel, a serial number badge on the passenger dash, and red and black leather with red contrast stitching on the seats. Light-up carbon fiber side sills are applied to the Giulia, and carbon fiber Sparco racing seats are optional on both cars. The NRING cars also come with the convenience package, the driver assistance dynamic package, and the premium alarm system. Unfortunately, there's no mention of the "Welcome Kit" the other markets got, which is a bummer. Who doesn't want racing gloves, a jacket, and a scale model? Alfa Romeo lists the 2019 Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING at $91,485 with destination, which is $15,895 more than the Giulia Quad's $75,590 starting price. The Stelvio NRING is $97,485, also up $15,895 from the $81,590 starting price. Only 55 examples of each car will be built.
Touring Superleggera planning a tribute to one of Alfa Romeo's most beautiful cars
Wed, May 20 2020Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera will help Alfa Romeo celebrate its 110th birthday by putting a modern spin on one of its most graceful sports cars. Called Berlinetta Aero, the coupe will break cover in July 2020. The preview image released by Touring Superleggera does a formidable job of hiding the model's overall lines. It shows what's essentially a sculpture that's half shrouded in darkness. However, it's revealing enough to tell stylists traced a parallel between the Berlinetta Aero and the one-off Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Speciale Tipo Le Mans (pictured below) built by Touring to compete in the 1938 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It wore an extra-long hood and a short rear end, defining styling cues that seem to appear on the modern recreation. Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Speciale Tipo Le Mans View 3 Photos As its name indicates, the 8C 2900 was powered by a 2.9-liter straight-eight that sent 220 horsepower to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Touring doesn't have a straight-eight to play with in 2020, so it will allegedly power the Berlinetta Touring with the Giulia GTA's twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6. It develops 540 horsepower when it's bolted in the Alfa's engine bay, though a power hike isn't inconceivable. Touring Superleggera planned to introduce the Berlinetta Aero at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the 2020 event was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Its unveiling will consequently take place online, according to Italian website Motori. Additional details (like the unveiling date) will be published in the coming weeks. Touring hasn't said anything about pricing or production figures yet, but it's safe to assume the Berlinetta Aero will be expensive and rare. For context, it capped production of the gorgeous, 8C-based Disco Volante it unveiled in 2012 at eight examples, and it built five units of the Ferrari F12-based Berlinetta Lusso shown in 2015.
Fiat 124 Abarth Spider spied, may get Alfa 4C power
Tue, Jul 14 2015We've long been excited to see, hear, and drive the car that results from the in-process Fiat-Mazda partnership. The Italian brand has had access to the excellent 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata on which to base its own roadster, and the fruits of that labor will soon ripen. Spied here is not only the ensuing Fiat 124, but a hotter Abarth tuned version of the spider. At least, that's what we're hoping. Our spy shooters indicated that the car seen here not only sounded more aggressive than 'standard' 124 mules seen previously, but that it also accelerated away from their long lenses with a smartness. The 124 Spider is already rumored to make use of the 1.4-liter turbo I4 that makes 160 horsepower in the Fiat 500 Abarth, and this version may have a still-more-powerful engine. Another tell about the added output are the quad tailpipes in place of the lesser car's set of two. There's no hard evidence to support exactly which engine might be under the 124's hood, however. It's possible that the 1.7-liter turbo from Alfa Romeo 4C could be in play – with its 237-hp output – as the 124 was originally going to wear an Alfa badge. If that were to happen, however, the Fiat would almost certainly get a dual-clutch transmission instead of the purer manual box. In any event, more details about the car will no doubt crop up closer to the expected reveal this fall. Related Video:
