Giulia Super 1300 on 2040-cars
Pensacola, Florida, United States
Up for sale is my 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 I am calling this my gateway Alfa. This is a great car for someone who interested in Alfas but hasn’t owned one or for someone who is looking to take it to the next level. I have owned this car for a little over a year and during my ownership it has been my daily driver. My girls are getting older and I need to start helping mom taxi children to and from practices, lessons, and recitals. Therefore, I will be driving more at night and with children in tow so I need to upgrade to a more ‘modern’ car. I bought this car out of Franklin, TN, and it now lives in Pensacola, FL. I bought the car and drove it from Tennessee to Florida. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere; all be it slow. Engine/Trans The car runs and drives great. It does have the normal 2nd gear syncro crunch when downshifting. Because, it is my daily driver all gauges, lights, and wipers work. The car stops well and I recently had the brakes looked over. I have changed the head gasket and had the timing redone. I have changed all fluids. But more importantly, I have driven it and will continue to drive it. Interior The interior is in decent shape. The back seats are solid with no tears or holes. It even has a middle arm rest. I have installed static two point seat belts which allows me to strap in car seats. Back windows and door locks function properly. The front passenger has a tear in the middle of the seat cushion but other than that the seat is great. The driver seat has a few small tears and the stitching is pulling in some places. Both front seats have new 3 point inertia reel seat belts. Exterior It does have some rust but nothing catastrophic that would keep you from being able to drive it. And just enough where you can feel comfortable about driving it. Not a Garage Queen. I have tried to detail the rust in the pictures and will be more than happy to answer any and all questions. I can be reached at 850-525-1858. |

Listen to the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio's howling Ferrari V6
Fri, Oct 18 2019There's a lot that makes the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio special, from its name to its handling. But arguably its biggest claim to fame is the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 under the hood that was derived from a Ferrari engine. It makes 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, and all that grunt goes through an eight-speed automatic transmission on its way to the rear wheels. Being a Ferrari-related engine, it has a suitably impressive exhaust note. Pop it into "Dynamic" mode, and the exhaust opens up. It's plenty loud with higher revs, but quiets down on the highway, avoiding much drone. The note is unique, with a deeper tone than you might expect from the Prancing Horse brand. It also has rippling crackles that occur more naturally than some of its consistently popping competitors from Germany. Take a listen for yourself with the video above.
Lazzarini dreams up Ferrari-powered, Hennessey-tuned Alfa Romeo 4C
Wed, Nov 19 2014If there are any two firms you could count on to shoehorn a Ferrari V8 into the back of an Alfa Romeo 4C, they would almost certainly be Lazzarini Design and Hennessey Performance. The former already dreamt up doing the same with a Fiat 500, and the latter has been shattering records with a similar conversion performed on a Lotus Elise to turn it into the Venom GT. What you see here is their lovechild. Designed by Lazzarini and enhanced by Hennessey, the 4C Definitiva does – at least in theory – what Maserati was not prepared to do: shoehorn a Ferrari-sourced V8 engine into the back of Alfa's nimble little sports car. The powerplant is borrowed from the Ferrari 458 Italia and tuned by Hennessey to produce a claimed 738 horsepower and 532 pound-feet of torque. In a package weighing just 2,100 pounds, that's said to be enough to propel Frankenstein's four-wheeled monster to 60 miles per hour in a scant 2.5 seconds and across the quarter-mile in 9.5 seconds at 137 mph. Those are LaFerrari levels of performance. As you can see, the engine transplant calls for a widened rear track, and is accompanied by more aggressive aero as well. Of course, the design may be little more than an idea at the moment, but Lazzarini is apparently looking for customers to commission the first examples, at a reported price of 260,000 euros, which is about five times the going rate for a stock 4C and more than Ferrari gets for the 458 Speciale. Whether it's worth that much is one question. Whether Lazzarini and Hennessey could actually deliver on the promise is an even bigger one. Alfa Romeo to develop a large car in the United States
Fri, Jul 29 2022MILAN — Itay's Alfa Romeo will work on a new large car in the United States to be launched in 2027, the brand's head Jean-Philippe Imparato said on Friday, adding however the group had not yet decided where to manufacture it. Imparato said the step was key to tailoring the design for overseas markets, helping Alfa Romeo to strengthen its position as an international premium brand of carmaker Stellantis. "Our offer for a large size vehicle must fit international markets, American, Chinese, European," he said during a media call, a day after parent Stellantis released first half results. Alfa Romeo is still assessing whether the new model will be an SUV or crossover bigger though it already has Stelvio with Tonale on the way, or a sedan bigger than Giulia, but it will probably not be an SUV as large as BMW's X5 or X6, Imparato said. He told Automotive News that the vehicle could be a mix of the two vehicle types, perhaps not unlike the new Toyota Crown. "We want to find the right mix," he said. "It's a decision we will take by the end of this year." Imparato said developing the car in the U.S. did not mean it would be produced in North America. "Producing in the U.S. is not something we have decided and it is something we don't want to decide now," he added. Alfa's two production sites are in Italy. Â
