 For Sale:

1986 GTV6. Completely original unmolested car – probably one of the best remaining 1986 models in the USA. With Milano Verdes selling for $11k+ with 168k miles, this one is priced very well.

More about the car: black/grey paint with beautifully preserved tan leather interior. Original paint. Seats are unfaded and supple, no tears or separated stitching, 79,300k original miles. Working, ice-cold A/C. Uncracked dash and unfaded gauges. Original Speedline wineglass wheels. No-crunch gearbox. Very strong engine. Everything works. Original, except for radio & maybe speakers. All interior and exterior plastics are unwarped and undamaged! Garaged or covered its whole life. Have receipts and documents showing ownership and work on car previously.

A couple of notes for those keen of eye: the only piece missing from car is the license plate “filler” panel (went between taillights on rear of car, easily put back on). That part was an 85.5/86-model-year-only part and it tended to wear through the paint – luckily this one had not. And, there is a very small dent in the rear 1/4 panel near sidemarker. Easy fix with PDR (paintless dent removal) to preserve original paint. Timing belt and water pump are not due for some time (service records available) - only 2,900 miles on both. Also, the rear window louvers are removable if the new owner wants to remove them. I also have a rear spoiler which I believe came on some of the special edition Balocco or Alefeta which I purchased a while back which has not been installed & still has original sticker from factory.

Drives tight and smooth – no squeaks or rattles or noises except the music the engine makes. Fly in, drive home with a smile. Call or email with questions.

CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over

Mon, 03 Sep 2012

After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Muhammad Ali's 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Series II is for sale

Sat, Apr 27 2019

An Alfa Romeo was never in the plans. It was by accident that Muhammad Ali ended up bringing home this beautiful silver-on-black 1976 Spider Veloce Series II, but its interesting backstory only makes it more special. It's a story the car's next owner will surely need to memorize, as the car is currently listed on eBay for a Buy It Now price of $39,900 OBO. Found by Silodrome, the car is listed by Moto Exotica out of St. Louis, Missouri. According to Moto Exotica, which sources a clip from the book "Running with the Champ" by Ali's close friend and car guy Tim Shanahan, Ali had set out with Shanahan to buy a new Rolls-Royce (Ali loved his Double-Rs) during his time living in Chicago. The two visited European Imports in Lake Forest, Illinois, with the intention of buying a Kelly Green Corniche and possibly a Mercedes-Benz SL for Ali's wife, Veronica Porche. To Ali's dismay, the dealership did not have any SLs in stock, so this Alfa was suggested as an alternative. Ali purchased the car, brought it home, and ran into yet another issue. Porche did not know how to drive the car's manual transmission, and apparently didn't have any desire to learn. So the car mostly sat, with the exception of some rare errand runs by one of Ali's assistants. After a short time passed, Ali learned that Shanahan's personal car had broken down. In a situation that perhaps suggests destiny, Ali then gifted the car to Shanahan, who has owned the car for 40-plus years up until its sale to Moto Exotica. With about 80,000 miles, it has some wear and tear, such as a small crack on the dashboard, but it's in solid overall shape and recently received a respray. Plus it comes with the real registration with Ali's signature on it. Check out the full photos, video, and descriptive listing at Moto Exotica.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio caught hiding under ugly black camouflage

Fri, Apr 8 2016

The vehicle you see here, bedecked as it is in camo-shaped warts and baubles, is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Behind all that ungainly black plastic hides a jacked-up crossover based on the bones of the upcoming Gulia sedan, which, painfully, we're still waiting to officially launch. Suffice it to say that we're not expecting to see a production version of the Stelvio until much later in 2016. Up front, the well-established rounded-triangle grille that marks the Alfa Romeo marque comes through loud and clear... though it looks a little bit sickly covered in all that cladding. We're sure it'll be appropriately prettied up for production, and we're equally certain the slit-like headlamp cutouts are hiding stylish swept-back lighting units. We can't make out much of the Stelvio's bodysides, but we see some nicely aggressive rolling stock to go along with what appears to be a pretty steeply raked greenhouse. View 10 Photos That incongruously shaped chunk hanging off the back glass was likely tacked on to hide the shape of the actual tailgate, and perhaps there are some sensors or computers hanging around inside the box to feed more data to engineers. There's no telling what's powering this Stelvio mule, but it could be a version of the 2.9-liter, 505-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 that we can't wait to sample in the Guilia Quadrifoglio Verde. For production, expect four- and six-cylinder options, in both gasoline and diesel flavors, depending on where the car is sold. We can clearly see the Stelvio is out on the road, generating test miles ahead of a hoped-for release in early 2017. The next logical question, then, is this: Will Alfa Romeo actually launch the Stelvio on time?
