1972 Alfa Romeo Gt Junior on 2040-cars
Tustin, California, United States
I’m selling my
1972 Alfa Romeo GT Junior European Model.
Originally sold on the 20th March 1972 in Bergamo Italy. The color is “faggio” (color code: AR516),
with Maremma wild boar tex interior. I
purchased the car from a local classic car dealer more than two years ago and
apparently I’m the 3rd owner of the car. The previous owner purchased the car from US
serviceman that had owned the car while stationed in Italy. At some point while still in Italy the engine
was replaced with European 1750 engine. The car was imported into US in
2004. The odometer shows 25,440 Km, and
has obviously turned over. Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. The engine drives super strong; one of the strongest I have seen. It accelerates fast and flawless; it pulls to 110 mph in no time. I drive the car every weekend and I have a blast driving it. There are no oil leaks, no white smoke, and or black smoke of any kind. All electrics works fine including gages, lights, heater fan & wipers. Tachometer and speedometer work fine with no issue. The car drives solid and suspension is tight and corners outstanding. The interior is all-original and it’s in good condition. Dash has a dash cap and floor plastic cover is original and it’s in very good condition. There are some rust bubbles on the upper lip of the trunk lid. There is some rust around the driver and passenger floors side drain hole, and spare tire drain hole, likewise the driver side door is rusted. Lower front valence is pushed in, and as shown in the photos, the front bumper is tweaked as well. Passenger side rocker door has a shallow dent. Most importantly, the car does not have any rust around the front windshield or the rear window, which is a very common and difficult to deal with. Both L& R rear quarter window areas are rust free as well. The jack point and floor is in good shape as well. The paint is good, however it is time for fresh paint as there are several spot where the clear coat has worn away. The car is a perfect daily driver; some thing that you can drive hard and enjoy. If you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, I will do my best to
answer any questions that you may have. This
vehicle is being sold "as-is", with no warranty, expressed or implied.
Vehicle is available for inspection prior bidding to purchase. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within
24 hours of the auction close. The remaining balance is due within 5 days from
the close of auction, unless other arrangements were made. Accepted payment
methods are bank wire transfers, cashier's checks and money orders. If you wish
to obtain financing, please do so ahead of time. I reserve the right to end the
auction early. I also reserve the right to verify any or all bids to ensure
exceptional auction integrity. Please do all your homework prior bidding. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owing this car. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. |

Alfa Romeo to launch eight new products by 2018, increase sales to 400K units
Tue, 06 May 2014
Alfa Romeo will go back to being the brand people admire, according to CEO Harald Wester.
After a few streams of news on the various brands in the Fiat Chrysler family, here's the deluge we've been waiting for - Alfa Romeo. The legendary Italian brand is being pointed towards a renaissance, as shown by the brand's five-year plan.
Marchionne offers belated apology for 'wop engine' comment
Wed, 22 May 2013Automotive News reports Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has issued a written apology for his comments regarding his decision to stick with an Italian engine for the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C. As you may recall, back in January, Marchionne was quoted as saying, "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it has to be a wop engine." The CEO penned an apology to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition for using the racial epithet, saying that he made the comment in jest. Marchionne also said he realizes his remarks were unacceptable.
ONE VOICE, an organization aimed at fighting discrimination and stereotyping of Italian Americans, thanked Marchionne, Chrysler and Fiat for the apology. Marchionne is an Italian-born Canadian citizen, and he's gotten in trouble for other comments in the past. In 2011, he called high interest rates Chrysler was paying to the Canadian government "shyster rates." He apologized a day later.
The Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio set a lap record at Silverstone with someone driving blind
Mon, Nov 21 2016Alfa Romeo announced today that its Giulia Quadrifoglio super sedan set a new lap record at Silverstone that nearly matched one put down by one of its Formula 1 cars in 1951. The F1 car set a time of 1:44, and the Giulia finished in 1:44.3. That may seem a bit slow for a modern 505-horsepower sports sedan, but it makes more sense when you realize the Giulia in question had black vinyl over the windows to keep the driver, Ed Morris, from seeing where he was going. Apparently Alfa thinks a clear view makes driving too easy. To get around the substantial handicap, Morris was assisted by directions from another driver in a following Giulia Quadrifoglio. The other driver, David Brise, radioed directions to Morris to get him around the track – and avoid crashing. Over the course of two days, the duo got the hang of it and set the aforementioned lap time. They even reached speeds of over 100 mph. You can see them practicing and setting the time in the video above. It was a cute record to set, but we're hoping blindfolded Nurburgring laps aren't next. Related Video:
