The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider was the first post WWII massed produced convertible by the famed Italian automobile manufacture.  The task to design these first production convertible was given to the world renowned coachwork house of Pinin Farina, whose iconic designs have graced us for more than 80 years, and these youthful little pretty cars certainly fall into that iconic category.

This 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider has been owned by the same family from new and is almost entirely all original.  Bought new at Turner Motors in Sacramento California in October 21, 1957, as per the original sale invoice, this car has spent its entire life in northern California.

With less than 67,500 original (documented miles) the car comes with a file folder full of records showing the mileage and maintenance of the car throughout its entire life.

The car is still cloaked in its original red paint that shows very well, and the black and red interior is in equally nice condition, both presenting very well.  The bright work and exterior show signs of wear and use as this car was a daily driver early in its life.  The car has a newer top that was installed about twenty years ago.  At some point the original engine block was damaged and a complete engine rebuild was done using an original 1958 block.  Since its rebuild sometime in the mid 1980’s the car has traveled less than 3500 miles.  Also accompanying the car is the original jack, canvas tool roll and operation and maintenance  manual.

The car was just recently re-commissioned after sitting a number years, and now is in very good running and driving condition.  This possibly could be one of the most original one family owned Giulietta spiders for sale today.

Vehicle is being sold as-is where-is.

Alfa Romeo Giulia leaks early

Tue, Jun 23 2015

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia is set to debut June 24, but the eagle-eyed folks at CarScoops already found these two somewhat blurry shots of the upcoming sedan. While there's unfortunately no photo of the front, these images give an idea of what to expect from Alfa's future four-door challenger to the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. According to CarScoops, this is the Quadrifoglio Verde performance trim, and the blurry profile images certainly appear to show that insignia on the front fender. Don't worry about the mouthful of a name, though, because the far less vowel-filled Cloverleaf moniker is reportedly being used in some markets. Beyond the badge, this crimson Giulia has a short deck at the rear and large fender flares. Vents cut into the fenders also communicate the model's sporty intentions. The rear shot shows angular taillights and dual exhausts nestled in a diffuser down below. The Giulia badge is clearly visible, and there's a contrasting black lip spoiler running along the edge of the trunk. A set of black wheels completes the performance-tuned look. For now, hard facts about the Giulia's mechanical details remain largely a mystery. The engine range reportedly includes a V6 with some relation to Ferrari that possibly pumps out around 480 horsepower, and a turbocharged four-cylinder might also be available. Some portions of the chassis are rumored to be borrowed from the Maserati Ghibli, as well. A crossover sharing the same platform may join Alfa's lineup in 2016. Related Video:

We're not getting the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce, and that's fine

Wed, Sep 21 2016

Alfa Romeo revealed today that a special edition of the Giulia sports sedan called "Veloce" will make its debut in Paris. It's only slated for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, but before you start lamenting that the US will once again miss out on a cool Euro-spec sedan, we have some good news: it's nothing special. The Giulia Veloce is just a normal Giulia with an appearance package and a fancy name. It comes with either the 280-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine, which we will get in 276-hosepower trim, or the 210-horsepower diesel four-cylinder. From there, Alfa throws in options like Q4 all-wheel drive, 19-inch 5-hole wheels, a tweaked front bumper, sport seats and steering wheel, rear diffuser and black window trim. That's it. Well that, and one of the Veloces at the show will sport a new color of blue, but it's not clear if that's a package-exclusive color or just another option. Many of these components will be available in the US, including the all-wheel drive, wheels, and, based on the American Alfa website, probably the black window trim. It's just that they won't all come in one package. And even if a few pieces of vehicle flair don't make it here, we're still not going to lose sleep over an appearance package. If you really need to be upset about something, perhaps consider the fact that we probably won't see Giulias on dealer lots until early next year. And that's just our best guess since we don't have an official launch date yet. Now that's something worthy of some frustration. Related Video:
