VERY RELIABLE - 4 door - sunroof - custom intake - full straight pipe exhaust with check engine light eliminator - high flow catalytic converter and original stock catalytic converter included - lowered with Tein springs, Tokiko gas shocks and rear camber kit - 17 inch Sparco Asetto Gara wheels installed Front tires have about 8,000 miles on them Rear tires about 15,000 miles - stock wheels also included - tow hitch with 2 inch ball ( bolt in. Easily removed if you don't want it) - roof rack with locking bike mount - Service maintenance manual directly from Acura included - serpentine belt replaced at 120,000 miles - spark plugs changed at 100,000 miles - valve adjustment at 140,000 - very well maintained. Oil chages were always done every 3,000 miles with high mileage synthetic oil - transmission oil changed at 130,000 - coolant replaced at 120,000 - trunk is wired for sub woofers - iPod adapter installed. Currently the plug isn't working not too sure why but it is an inexpensive fix if you would like to have it (iPad adapter kit manual included) - heater works great - a/c works great. Puts out ice cold air - tinted windows 20% rear, 30% front Cons: (same as listed above) - scuff on rear bumper and front bumper has some cosmetic damage. I assure you this is only cosmetic, there is no frame damage (see photo) - body is in good condition for its age. No dents or dings anywhere but the bumper skins - the paint does have some minor imperfections but you really have to be in the right light to even be able to see them. Very minor. - interior is in great condition with some minor flaws (see photo) I just gave it a fresh oil change and had it detailed and ready for someone to enjoy as much as I have. I have spent about $4,500 on custom parts alone. I love this car and I wish I could keep it but I recently decided to fulfill a dream of mine and build a car. I also recently inherited an SUV when a family member passed away so I just don't have the room. Thanks for looking if you have any questions I'm happy to answer them. Local pick up or happy to ship, but it will be at the buyer's expense Happy bidding! |

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid
Wed, 10 Jul 2013This Is Not The Acura You're Looking For
Mid-level luxury brands have always had to do a bit of leg work to distance themselves from their more common cousins. Thanks to generation after generation of pervasive badge engineering (much of it from the Big Three), buyers can't be blamed for looking at brands like Buick, Lincoln, Infiniti, Lexus and yes, Acura as tarted up versions of Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Honda products. For much of its lifetime in the automotive landscape, however, Acura has excelled at putting distance between its offerings and that of its parent company thanks to cars with superior driving dynamics, quieter cabins and clean, attractive aesthetics.
Yes, outliers and dull spots can be found in the company's recent track record, but by and large, Acura products remain situated well above the Honda rabble. When the brand announced it was getting serious about the luxury small car game with the ILX, those of us with a set of the company's keys in our past couldn't help but envision an honest successor to the long-dead Integra. Turns out, that wasn't what Acura had in mind.
Acura TLX GT Racecar bringing the 'X factor' to Pirelli World Challenge
Tue, 14 Jan 2014One doesn't normally think of Acura offering anything to mix it up with the SRT Viper, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 and Ferrari 458 Italia (at least while the NSX is still off in the ether), but that's exactly what's about to happen. Honda's premium outpost is jumping into the top tier of the Pirelli World Challenge with this 2015 TLX GT.
The surprise reveal of this racecar at today's Detroit Auto Show will be campaigned by RealTime Racing, no stranger to racing Acuras, in the GT class (previously, the team had campaigned the series a rung down in GT-S).
The racecar is powered by a twin-turbo variant of the direct-injected V6 to be found in the production TLX sedan, right along with its Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system. There's no word on how much power this HPD-massaged engine will put out in race trim, but we won't have to wait long to hear it fire up - the car is set to take to the track with team owner Peter Cunningham at the wheel in the next few weeks.
Acura NSX will use Cosworth block, plus other neat tidbits
Sat, Aug 15 2015The blue NSX you see here was built just two weeks ago. Prototype number six, it rolled off Acura's newest assembly line in Ohio and was rushed out to the Monterey peninsula for various car week activities. We had a chance to sit down with several members of the NSX team to discuss the car, the long road from concept to production, and some interesting details. Below are some choice bits from our conversations. Acura is pretty proud of the fact that NSX version 2.0 was designed and is being built in the US. The new assembly line, called the Performance Manufacturing Center, is in Honda's hometown of Marysville, Ohio. While the line is brand new, the building has seen many uses over its lifetime, most recently as a warehouse facility. PMC staff numbers about 100, with 60 technical and 40 non-technical associates. The car uses parts sourced globally, and one of those sources is Cosworth. The engine blocks and heads come from the English firm and get assembled into twin-turbo powerhouses at Honda's nearby Anna, Ohio, engine plant. The Cosworth name is rarely associated with a bad engine, so we were geeked to hear the NSX's 550-plus-horsepower hybrid powertrain has good genes. Acura hasn't decided how many cars will come to the US each year, but supplies will be limited. We're told there is a total figure for global sales – basically anywhere Honda and Acura vehicles are sold – but they're not ready to divulge that number. Dealer allocation is also yet to be sorted out, although we're told that any dealer that has the necessary tools and equipment to service the new NSX will be able to sell them. Acura currently has 272 US dealers. The switch from the transverse engine originally planned to a longitudinal twin-turbo engine threw everyone involved for a loop. The designers had to lengthen their nearly finalized design, and the engineers working on the production process had to revise or redo much of their work. Though we've been waiting a while for the car since the concept first surfaced in 2012, it's pretty amazing to think that the car was engineered one and a half times and a new factory was built in about three years. But yeah, it's delayed, with series production now set to commence in the spring of 2016. One result of the switch to a longitudinal engine is a transmission hump in the cargo area aft of the engine. The hold is still sized to fit a bag of golf clubs, though it will be a tight fit.
