2008 Acura Tl Base Sedan 4-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Chino Hills, California, United States
I have only used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil from the 3000 mile mark. I have only ever used 91 fuel, Chevron mostly with the exception to Shell as well. I can honestly say I had to use crap gas (Arco) 8 times total, putting anywhere from $3-8 (just enough to get the car to a Chevron or Shell). The car was taken to Metro Acura for its 20k, 50k, and 100k regular maintenance. Last major service everything was done to the car, timing belt, new struts, breaks, tires, filters, adjustments, tranny service (can't remember everything off hand) I drive like an old man, once in a blue moon, I do drive hard, but its a once a year type thing. When shifting I have always waited a few seconds between shifts to allow the tranny to do its thing. I also use the parking break before putting the car in park. After my Accord's tranny went out, and I bought this car, I pampered it like my own child. There is a Viper 5901 Aftermarket alarm installed on the vehicle, also has the Remote Start feature, and the ability to lock, unlock, panic, trunk and start the car up to a mile (in sight) away with the Viper remote system. The Viper system has the ability to kill the engine from starting if theft is detected. It also has motion sensors, a 2 way pager which will page you if your alarm is going off. It also has a car computer installed. I will throw in the computer for an extra $1000. If you goto you tube, and type "car computer acura tl" the first link by Anish Patel is the car computer and all its features. Check it out. It is like a 16 minute demonstration. Watch the you tube video link above to see what it can do. If you are not interested read on... If you don't get the car computer with the car, you still have the ability to use the input, and switches to it. You can install an XBOX, a DVD PLAYER, PLAYSTATION, PSP... Great for those Vegas Trips. If you don't then you can revert to the stock Nav and I will close up all wiring in the trunk to before selling the vehicle to you. Vehicle is sold as is. Cons- Hand break was chewed up by dog, its not horrible, or anything like that, still works fine. Front seats and back look like any TL that hits 100,000 miles. The back is in way better condition There are holes in the seats, nothing seat covers couldn't fix, or an upholster. Has been in 2 accidents, one of which quarter panel and hood was replaced. No real body damage or scratches Only scratch is on front bumper passenger side where a curb was scrapped in the in-and-out drive thru. (I never hit the curve but this In and out was ridiculous) Where the handle for the driver door is (pull handles), the paint is scratched from the obvious reason. Basically where your fingernails would hit it as you open the door. Pros Computer and all its accessories (see the 12 minute video link above) Viper Alarm It has <130,000 miles on it today Stock Navigation system 3.2L V6 Pearl White, with off white interior Black dash Questions text/call me DO NOT CALL BEFORE 2PM YOU CAN TEXT BEFORE 2PM, I PREFER TEXT. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND HAVE THE PINK SLIP TO CAR.
Remember the computer is not included in the bid, thats additional... |

Acura teams with Galpin to sport-up the 2015 TLX
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Acura used the SEMA Show this week to remind enthusiasts that it still considers itself a performance brand, teaming with Galpin Auto Sports to build a TLX that highlights Acura's sporting and racing heritage.
The TLX is painted a deep shade of blue, called Andaro, and the color will be used on the NSX supercar when it returns to the United States in 2015. It rolls on custom gray wheels with gunmetal and "liquid smoke" pieces, and they're wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubber. The exterior design is punched up with a body kit that adds side skirts, a rear spoiler and new bumpers to create a more sinister look.
The TLX has a sport suspension kit with coilovers with 36-way adjustable damping. There's also brake upgrades and custom exhaust outlets.
Comparison test: 2019 Acura RDX vs. compact luxury SUV competitors
Fri, Jun 1 2018Truth be told, if we were to compare the all-new 2019 Acura RDX with those compact luxury crossover SUVs it would most likely be cross-shopped against, you'd be looking at a different list. Even Acura admits that Lexus and Infiniti are the most likely bogies, but with the 2019 RDX, Honda's luxury brand is attempting to attract those customers who think as much with their hearts as with their heads. And for the most part, those folks have been buying from German brands: the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. So, to show how the new RDX compares to them, Acura actually provided examples of each during the recent press drive along with a Volvo XC60. All were determined to have greater emotional appeal than the last RDX, and we would certainly agree. For, as much as the previous-generation RDX made sense on paper, it was really hard to get excited about it. And when you're paying extra for a luxury vehicle, shouldn't you get a little excited? Well, as luck would have it, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and I were on hand in Whistler, British Columbia, for the press launch. We didn't have an abundance of time in each RDX competitor, but in conjunction with our usual comparison chart, our impressions should provide a good first taste of how the new RDX compares. Performance and fuel economy Contributing Editor James Riswick: On paper at least, the RDX is gutsier than its comparably powered European rivals. It also weighs the same or less, which logically should mean it'll be the quickest in a straight line. During my brief drives, though, I'm not sure it really stood taller than the three Germans. It at least matches them for smoothness, which is something that can't be said about the Volvo. Fuel economy is lower than them all when you consider all but the Mercedes come standard with all-wheel drive. It's also worth noting that all the competitors are available with engine upgrades, and unless Acura's forthcoming resurrection of Type S models includes the RDX, it should stay that way. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Line 'em all up in a drag race, and I have a feeling the Acura would squirt away to victory. A good bit of that, though, would be due to its 10-speed automatic transmission, which offers a huge spread of ratios and fires off extremely quick shifts. In the real world, I'd guess fuel economy will be similar across the board, so I'm willing to call that category a draw.
Honda marks 20 million vehicles made in the USA
Thu, 20 Mar 2014Japanese automakers manufacturing in the United States is nothing new. But it was in November of 1982 when the first Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line in Marysville, OH. It was the first Japanese vehicle assembled in the US, and in the nearly 32 years since, Honda has made 10 million Accords here for a total of 20 million cars manufactured in America - enough to span from New York to San Francisco twenty times. It's that double landmark which Honda is now celebrating.
Honda has come a long way in those three decades, keeping that original plant in Marysville on line while expanding to three more - in East Liberty, OH; Lincoln, AL; and Greensburg, IN - with a fifth plant (the Performance Manufacturing Center) opening on the same site in Marysville to build the Acura NSX next year. It also builds engines in Lincoln and in Anna, OH, and automatic transmissions at Russells Point, OH, and Tallapoosa, GA.
Between those seven sites, Honda produces 11 different models, including the Accord, Civic, Crosstour, CR-V, Pilot, Odyssey and Ridgeline as well as the Acura ILX, TL, RDX and MDX. Production keeps on ramping up as Honda produced a record 1.3 million vehicles in the US last year, 95 percent of which are sold in the US. Scope out the details in the press release below and click the image above to see it all laid out in a handy infographic.
