This car has required minimal maintenance, all of it wear and tear. I've had no issues with the car other than a bad battery which the Acura dealer replaced.
It does have some minor damage on the passenger rear door.
Previous questions.
I don't mind. This car has been really great to me, however I really want to get back into a sports car and at the present moment I have a good opportunity for that. I bought the Type-S because it was a good compromise between a sports car and a family car. When I was looking for a car at the time, I was wanting an S2000, while also planning to start a family, so I compromised for a sedan. Forward to now, the family thing didn't really come through so I'm looking to get back into the sports car once more. This time I have me an RSX Type-S shell to match with a K24 block, K20 head with Si pistons and custom tuned with K-Pro for a start. Wanting to reach a goal of 300whp N/A. Selling the TL will rid me of a car payment and give me a little bit of extra funding to finish this RSX. I'm really ecstatic about getting on the 6-speed manual, which this TL does not have. The TL is fast for a sedan, but the RSX has more potential and is better suited for what I want to achieve from a car. There is a very small aftermarket support for the TL. I've spent a lot of time and hard work on making this TL stand out. I get compliments on it at least a few times a week.
I will miss this TL, its's a real head turner and I'm spoiled on the features it has. Whether it sells or not, either outcome will be bittersweet to me. If you plan to purchase a TL I would check out Acurazine.com, one of the BEST resources for TL owners. Hope this answered your question. Feel free to ask me anything else, I'll answer as best I can.
As far as accidents. A lady backed into me hitting the back bumper in a parking lot 3 months ago. She admitted fault and her insurance paid out. I fixed the bumper by buying the Acura A-SPEC bumper you can see in the pictures.
Any questions just email me.
I am very busy with work and various side projects but I'll try to answer as quick as possible.

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid
Wed, 10 Jul 2013This Is Not The Acura You're Looking For
Mid-level luxury brands have always had to do a bit of leg work to distance themselves from their more common cousins. Thanks to generation after generation of pervasive badge engineering (much of it from the Big Three), buyers can't be blamed for looking at brands like Buick, Lincoln, Infiniti, Lexus and yes, Acura as tarted up versions of Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Honda products. For much of its lifetime in the automotive landscape, however, Acura has excelled at putting distance between its offerings and that of its parent company thanks to cars with superior driving dynamics, quieter cabins and clean, attractive aesthetics.
Yes, outliers and dull spots can be found in the company's recent track record, but by and large, Acura products remain situated well above the Honda rabble. When the brand announced it was getting serious about the luxury small car game with the ILX, those of us with a set of the company's keys in our past couldn't help but envision an honest successor to the long-dead Integra. Turns out, that wasn't what Acura had in mind.
2019 Acura ILX gets a makeover with more standard safety features
Wed, Sep 5 2018The 2019 Acura ILX compact luxury sedan has finally been redesigned to fit the look introduced by the TLX and RDX. According to Acura, the entire nose from the A-pillar forward and the whole rear fascia have been changed. Up front the car has the pentagonal grille and angry LED lights that are Acura signatures, and they're complemented by crisply creased sheetmetal across the rest of the car. The results are a far sportier, far less anonymous machine. The car will continue to be available in normal and A-Spec versions, with the latter consisting mainly of appearance items such as 18-inch wheels, dark trim and lights, and a rear spoiler. Exterior enhancements are the primary change to the new ILX. The interior is nearly unchanged except the A-Spec has some stylish sport seats similar to those in the RDX A-Spec. Acura also says the infotainment system has been upgraded to be faster, and it has fresh graphics and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. But this is not the system found in the completely new RDX, just an updated version of the current infotainment. The last big upgrade to the ILX is the inclusion of the complete AcuraWatch suite of safety features on all ILX models. This includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and road departure mitigation. Aside from these changes, the ILX is still pretty much the same as the old one. Under the skin is the same naturally aspirated 201-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder as the current model. It's still coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and powers solely the front wheels. The 2019 ILX goes on sale in October, but pricing has not yet been announced. Acura ILX Hybrid discontinued for 2015
Tue, 17 Jun 2014Earlier today, Acura issued a press release detailing its entry-level 2015 ILX range, but something was missing. Honda's luxury arm listed all of the information about the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter ILX models, but nothing was said about the Hybrid - a model that, when we reviewed it in 2013, left us utterly cold. But now we know why: Acura has confirmed to Autoblog that the ILX Hybrid will be discontinued for the 2015 model year.
The company issued the following statement to us regarding the hybrid's demise:
The 2015 ILX remains a standout choice in the entry premium segment with its combination of performance, luxury, refinement and value and is the top-selling luxury vehicle to younger buyers. Based on the stronger appeal of the ILX 2.0 and 2.4 models, we are streamlining the ILX lineup to better align with customer demand, Acura will no longer offer the ILX Hybrid starting with the 2015 model year.
