2001 Acura CL Type-S -- 147,300mi -- $1500 -- Needs Transmission Repair -- Salvage Title
Selling my 2001 Acura CL Type-S at a great price of $1500! This has been my primary vehicle for the past 10 years. The transmission has been slipping recently and is in need of repair. However, I do still drive the car on a daily basis around town. There is also a thumping sound coming from behind the dash that lasts for ~30 secs after starting the car. It seems to be related to the climate control system but heating/AC still works fine. The exterior does have some scratches, oxidation spots, a small (barely noticeable) dent beneath the driver side fog light, and slight bend on the hood. Interior has normal wear to the seats and carpets but still looks and feels great. Awesome sound system and I include my cassette adapter so you can play music from your mp3 player or smartphone. This is a salvaged car but it has NOT been in a major accident and I've driven it for the past 10 years with no major issues. The salvage branding was due to minor flood damage it received before I purchased it. It passed the PA Enhanced Safety Inspection in 2012 with only minor fixes needed (window tinting and a dull head light). This is the perfect car at the perfect price for the right buyer - 20% below the NADA Rough Trade-In Value! I'm selling because I'll be moving to AL soon and won't need this car anymore. Please don't hesitate to make me an offer or ask questions. |

Acura's MDX SEMA concept took the wrong parts from the NSX GT3
Thu, Oct 27 2016When it comes to SEMA show cars, the more absurd the better, such as with the 1,040-horsepower Bisimoto Hyundai Santa Fe. That's not the case with Acura's custom MDX. This crossover was designed to match the NSX GT3 racecar, and gets a custom trailer to tow it. However, instead of doing something awesome like dropping in the NSX's twin-turbo V6, Acura decided the defining characteristics of the race car were the paint, splitter, and wing. So that's what the MDX and trailer got. In addition to a matching white paint scheme with orange and black accents, the SUV wears a massive front splitter that looks like a shelf stuck close to the ground. It's the only aero modification on the vehicle, and it just looks silly, what with the massive gap between the base of the bumper and the splitter itself. There aren't any performance modifications on this SUV either, except the lowered suspension, so the only thing the splitter is likely to do is break off on the first mildly steep driveway it comes across. To complement the MDX's dubious aero aid, the custom trailer gets a "wing" at the back. Actually, it looks like Acura slapped some endplates on the back to give it a wing look. The trailer also gets running boards that extend the splitter along the side. Maybe it all works together to keep the trailering rig planted. But probably not. If Acura wants suggestions for next time, we suggest a mid-engined MDX, or perhaps one with a wild hybrid system. We'll call this a missed opportunity. Acura NSX GT3 racecar bares all in raw carbon
Thu, Jul 7 2016Acura slowly and dramatically revealed the NSX over a period of years. There were previews, concepts, and lots of teases before Acura finally showed us the whole thing. It's a different story for the racecar. And today, the wraps come off the FIA GT3-spec NSX to show all of its bare-carbon glory. The NSX GT3 strips away more than just the paint from the standard road car. The racecar comes sans hybrid system, meaning all the power from the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is sent solely to the rear wheels. Modifications to the body include a large rear wing, underbody diffuser, and bigger hood vents for engine cooling. While the hybrid system may be gone, the NSX GT3 uses the same block, heads, valvetrain, crankshaft, pistons, and dry sump lubrication system as the road car. Power is sent through a six-speed sequential gearbox instead of the road car's nine-speed. The NSX GT3 will be built alongside the street version in Ohio. Honda engineers in Japan and North America shared in the development. Final GT3 homologation will be completed by the company's Honda Performance Division in Santa Clarita, CA. Related video:
