Let me answer some questions I have been receiving: 1. The roof rack is easy to take off. All you have to do is unscrew three screws and you can remove it from the roof with no problem. The bike part of the roof rack is not shown in the pics but I do have it and it is an official Acura part. 2. I am financing through Acura Financing. You have two options for payment. You can pay Acura Financing with a Cashiers Check. They will in turn make out the title in the buyers name. If your bank needs to work with my bank, we can make that happen as well. The other option is to make the Cashiers Check out to me and I will in turn mail it to Acura Financing for the payoff. Either option is fine with me. 3. The 20 inch wheels and tires do not change the handling of this car. I thought it would but it rides as smooth and quiet as if the stock wheels and tires were on. Turning radius is normal. The tires are in great shape! I have had them rotated during every oil change. I have only had to have the oil changed twice. 4. Gas mileage is excellent and yes this car can get up in speed and acceleration (I guess that's why they have 160 on the dash). 5. Yes, the car is in the excellent shape that it looks like in the pics. What you see is what you get. 6. I am only selling because I'm buying a home and I need to get rid of the debt ratio that I have. I do not want to sell this car and I am taking a big loss in just one year of ownership. 7. Last but not least, I have this car up for sale locally, Craigslist, Ebay, and Autotrader so first come, first gets the car. |

Acura launches ad spots for Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Thu, 19 Dec 2013Acura and Jerry Seinfeld are expanding their partnership as season three of the comedian's web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, prepares to debut. Seinfeld has paired with director Barry Sonnenfeld to create a series of ads for the luxury brand showcasing the new Acura RLX and MDX.
There are eight spots, written by Seinfeld and directed by Sonnenfeld, that seemingly mock advertisements of the 1960s, with a deep-voiced, smooth-talking host highlighting the cars in question. It's all very folksy, Leave it to Beaver style humor. We'd be lying, though, if we said we weren't reminded a bit too forcefully of Dodge's successful range of Will Ferrell ads when watching the eight Acura spots.
"My idea for Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee was to show this certain aspect of the stand-up comedy world in a way that comedy fans would enjoy experiencing as if they were there," said Seinfeld. "There is absolutely no doubt that without Acura's support I would not have been able to continue beyond the initial experiment. And now Acura has enabled me to extend the concept by creating ads that fit the comedy tone of the show."
IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
Acura recalls 106K MDX models for AC system bolt
Wed, Jul 15 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is announcing a recall covering the air conditioning system on 106,439 units of the 2014-2015 Acura MDX. The affected examples have production dates between April 23, 2013, and December 16, 2014. While the problem doesn't create a major safety concern, it could be very annoying when driving during the intense heat of the summer months. On these luxury crossovers, the bolts on the air conditioning compressor clutch drive might not have the proper anti-corrosion coating. This makes it more likely for them to eventually break, and if that happens the AC pulley could fall off the CUVs. Acura reports no injuries or crashes form the issue, and the company discovered the issue through warranty claims for the air conditioning not working. To repair the problem, dealers will replace the bolts. They'll also inspect the AC clutch plate and will replace it if necessary, as well. The repairs for some owners should already be in progress, according to NHTSA.
