Selling my 2005 Acura TSX.  Gray exterior with black leather interior.  6 speed manual.  Factory navigation.  198,400 miles.  Don't let the mileage scare you, as this car burns no oil, and runs perfect.  Engine is super quiet, and transmission is silky smooth.  Acura cars pretty much run forever.  Has what every other TSX has, including heated leather seats, all the power options, power sunroof, etc.

This car has some hail damage.  There are small dings on the car, mainly on the roof, hood and trunk area.  It's not very bad, but noticeable.  All cosmetic.  Insurance company paid out on the car.  I acquired this car with a salvage title because of this.  I have since taken it to enhanced inspection, and a rebuilt title has been issues.  With a rebuilt title, it can be titled and registered like any other car (in most states.  Check with your state laws.  I know for sure in NJ and PA, you can take this title and title and register the car).  Passenger side mirror glass has a crack in it (I may or may not replace the glass, depending on time).  Also, the glove box latch came apart (the plastic outer covering fell off.  Latch itself still works as it should).  The navigation disc drive died, but I sent it out to Alpine for repairs.  It will work when vehicle is sold.  I will also include a new 2014 navigation disc, with the most current maps.

This car runs and drives super smooth.  No weird noises, no shakes or anything.  Tires have a lot of life left in them.  Engine is very quiet.  Transmission shifts very well, with no grinds or noises at all.

The car is sold as-is, without any warranty, expressed or implied.  If you are local and would like to test drive it, shoot me a message.

Sale isn't limited to local buyers.  If you're not local, I can arrange to have the car transported to you, at your expense, or pick you up at the local airport and you can drive it home yourself (local airport to me is Newark Airport.  Airport code is EWR.  About 10-15 minutes away).

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  I expect the navigation disc drive to be back in 5-7 business days, which should be in time before the auction ends.  Other than that, the car is ready to go!

Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.  If you really want the car, use the buy it now option.

Honda trademarks 'CDX' nameplate

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Less than two weeks ago, we discussed the possibility of an Acura-badged version of the sure-to-be popular Honda HR-V. Now, Acura has gone ahead and registered a new trademark that fits in perfectly with its two other crossovers, the RDX and MDX. Our friends at Auto Guide report the company has reserved the name "CDX" with the US Patent and Trademark Office, with the trademark covering "automobiles and their structural parts." While it's true that these kinds of trademarks are filed regularly, the timing in this case is indicative of something more than simply covering bases. After all, it seems very, very unlikely that we'd have comments from Acura on a premium version of the HR-V on February 5 and a trademark filing for a name that fits the brand's CUV nomenclature less than two weeks later, only for it to not go ahead and build an actual vehicle. Adding to that logic is the simple fact that the compact CUV market, both on the premium and mainstream level, is arguably the hottest in the auto industry right now, and it seems like a virtual guarantee that we'll see an HR-V wearing the Acura CDX name in the not-so-distant future. Should that come to pass, look for the CDX to challenge the near-premium Buick Encore, as well as a potential compact CUV from Infiniti. 1997 Acura Integra Type R sells for $82,000 on Bring a Trailer

Mon, Sep 30 2019

Acura Integra Type R prices are getting ridiculous. The car is absolutely superb, but the latest one to sell on Bring a Trailer went for a cool $82,000. You could likely pick up two old Acura NSXs in average condition for a similar price as the single Integra Type R. But hey, nobody ever said the value of cars made sense. Why did this particular Type R reach unrivaled heights then? A few factors are obvious. It’s a one-owner, 6,000-mile, completely original 1997 ITR (what the cool kids call the Integra Type R for short). WeÂ’re still rather flabbergasted and slightly upset the original buyer only managed 6,000 miles over the approximately 22 years of ownership, but the new owner could fix that quickly. Then again, this could be a purely speculative buy, aiding heavily in the final gavel price. Wait a few months to a year, and the value of this unmolested Type R could increase another $10,000, or more if you donÂ’t add miles. It was only a year ago to date that we wrote in near-shock about a Type R with even fewer miles (1,200) going for $63,800 at Barrett-Jackson. This car blows that previous record straight out of the water. As of now, thereÂ’s no end in sight to the increasing prices of these now-slightly-old hot Hondas. Another clean Acura Integra Type R is listed on Bring a Trailer right now, and the bid is already up to $34,567 with four days left. That car has 19,000 miles on it, and is reportedly being offered by the carÂ’s second owner, who bought it two years ago. A Honda CRX Si recently went for $33,600 on the same website. The NSXÂ’s value jump hit hard a few years ago, but now its successors are following in its footsteps again. Will there come a day when an Integra Type R hits the six-digit mark? At this rate it doesnÂ’t look far away. If you want a whole lot of what the Type R offers, without the eye-watering markup, take a long, hard look at the Integra GS-R. That trim is a great step up in performance over a base Integra, and a few easy mods gets it close to the Type R from a performance standpoint. You wonÂ’t have the cache and bragging rights that come with the R, but you also wonÂ’t be afraid to put miles on it for fear of entirely ruining the carÂ’s value. Happy Honda hunting.

2021 Acura TLX A-Spec vs. Type S, Polestar 2 and Genesis G70 | Autoblog Podcast #700

Fri, Oct 15 2021

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd for the 700th installment. It's a premium-focused rundown as the two start off discussing Autoblog's long-term Acura TLX A-Spec and the Type S that is currently standing in for it, followed by some impressions of the Polestar 2 (and how it feels relative to its Volvo cousins) and a look at the 2022 Genesis G70 Launch Edition. Then, in "Spend My Money," they try to address a rather broad request for a pre-owned vehicle with only a handful of requirements.   Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
