2008 Acura Rl Base Sedan 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Abingdon, Maryland, United States
2008 Acura Rl, Black exterior, Black leather interior with heated seats, moonroof. No burn marks, no tears, no wear marks on arm rests or seats. Car is in excellent condition. Everything works. I've had this car since April 2014 and always had oil/transmission changed out to synthetic. Brand new Firestone Dunlop P245/50 ZR17 tires put on in April '14. Brand new Chrome OEM rims put on same time as tires. Recently had an alignment done by Firestone to keep up 3-warranty on tires. I always hand washed the car since I've had it and dried it myself. When you first sit in the car you will love the aroma of leather like a new car. I have always had this car in my garage and it never saw rain or snow since I've had it. It never sat out in the cold or baking in the heat. I used this car for occasional drives since I have another car that I use for local driving/grocery shopping, etc. I'm retired so this car was never used as a commuter car on a daily basis. I have babied this car while in my possession, lovingly waxed it on a regular basis and put on leather conditioning periodically all over the seats. When I bought this, the car history showed 'salvage' because it was in an accident but was fixed by the previous owner at the Acura dealership in California. It was a right front end fender bender. All restored like new. Title is all clear with no mention of 'salvage' on title. I tagged and titled it here in Md. with no problem and Md. is one of the strictest states as far as titling a car with all their rules and regulations to make sure cars are safe to drive on roads. The paint on the car is very shiny and glossy so the pictures reflect strange looking circles from the sun when I took them 2 days ago. There are a few scratches on the rear roof of the car but you have to look closely to see them. The car looks brand new when driving around. All exterior chrome like brand new. All shiny. No dents. If you want to drive around in style and have everyone looking at you and admiring the car, this car will do it. This car turns heads wherever you go. This car really makes a statement and is real classy, sporty and business-like at the same time. I'm only selling this car because I have some home renovations needed to get done and need some extra money for that. This car has always been a dream of mine to own and it saddens me to have to sell this but I have to do what one has to do in life to get things done. The headlights and rear tail lights are crystal clear. No fogging whatsoever. The following will be included with the car: __________________________________________ 2 keys/fobs. Both have yellow silicone protective covering. Easy to see at night if you drop them. One key is the original and the other is brand new and needs to be activated by an Acura dealership. 2nd key cost $255 by itself and is made by Acura/OEM. New leather front-end nose mask made by Acura/OEM. Never used. New sun roof wind guard made by Acura/OEM. Never used. Not installed. New engine block heater made by Acura/OEM. Never used. Not installed. (Great for warming up engine oil in winter before driving). New soft car cover made by Acura/OEM. Never used. Still in it's own bag. New installed black rubber edge guards for all 4 doors. New front/rear floor mats made by Acura/OEM. Still sealed in plastic. Original Acura car mats are in the car so you have 2 sets. (I'd use the old set during winter and new for dry summer weather). In April, 2014, 4 top of the line brand new tires and 4 brand new Acura OEM chrome rims installed. Rims are sparkling and really make this car stand out. $1900 for that alone. Everything works on this car. Nothing at all not working including the heated seats. This car doesn't have navigation but my Garmin Nuvi fits perfectly in the screen area. Serious buyers are welcome to test drive the car before auction ends if local. If you're the winning bidder and you're out of state, I will pick you up at BWI Airport, (Baltimore-Washington Airport in Baltimore, Md.) I prefer $1000. deposit and balance to be paid after 7 days. Prefer bank wire transfer to my bank in Md. I'm flexible and not desperate so I can work around your schedule also. I'm retired but I know how hectic life can be when you're working and traveling for work, etc. Out of state buyers who fly in will of course be able to test drive the car before final payment is made. If you send payment in full before the 7 day period and you, for any reason are not happy with the car after test driving it, I will refund you balance in full immediately with a check from my bank or cash. I will drive you back to the airport too. Only trying to accommodate if buyer is dissatisfied for any reason but I can guarantee you that whoever buys this car will be happy and thrilled by the appearance and handling of the car. I know some people are skiddish about buying a car online from someone they don't know so trying to make it easy and worry free. Mileage of the car today of this listing is 63,764. Mileage may go up slightly from some use locally. I have the right to end this auction early as this car is advertised in other venues. While car has been in my possession, there has never been any pets or smokers in the car. No eating of food or beverages done in the car. All clean. Good luck to the successful bidder. You will really love this car.

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015
Mon, Jan 5 2015Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
2015 Acura TLX is all too familiar, despite its new tricks [w/videos]
Wed, 16 Apr 2014I'm confident in saying that the 2015 Acura TLX, revealed today at the New York Auto Show, will be a perfectly nice car to drive. It'll be nice to sit in, with plenty of luxurious amenities. It'll be... fine. And for Acura, "fine" is apparently good enough.
I say that because while the TLX is an all-new offering (it replaces both the TL and TSX), it hardly shakes up the Acura formula we've come to accept over the past few years. It looks like everything else in the automaker's lineup, complete with the neat LED headlamps and signature beaked grille. Power comes from either a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with 206 horsepower, or a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 hp - engines we've tested in countless other Honda/Acura products. The front-wheel-drive version uses the Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) from the RLX, and high-end V6 models use the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) that we've enjoyed across the rest of the Acura range. Really, there's nothing to write home about here, except maybe, how that power is sent to the wheels.
Acura is finally - finally - moving beyond the world of the six-speed transmission, offering a new eight-speed, dual-clutch gearbox with the 2.4-liter engine, and a swanky new nine-speed automatic with the 3.5-liter V6. This is arguably the biggest news surrounding the TLX, though do note, fuel economy hasn't vastly been improved in the process. The TLX 2.4 musters up 24 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg highway, while the front-drive V6 is rated at 21/34 mpg. Optioning for the V6 SH-AWD reduces things to 21/31 mpg.
Acura Precision Cockpit Concept is much more than a digital gauge cluster
Wed, Nov 16 2016Audi Virtual Cockpit is one of the single best pieces of technology on the market, bar none. It blends beautiful graphics, easy interaction, and loads of information in a way that similar all-digital gauge clusters from brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, and Cadillac can't match. Other brands might not stand even with Audi, but Acura is certainly going to try. The company is demonstrating its efforts at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show with the new Precision Cockpit. Like Audi, JLR, and Cadillac, Acura is using a 12.3-inch display in place of a traditional set of gauges that changes color schemes and animations based on the driving mode. A prominent central display joins the digital IP and features what looks like an evolution of the company's current infotainment software. But rather than a knob and dial or physical buttons, Acura is taking a page out of Lexus' book, using a touchpad to control the center display. View 7 Photos But before we lament the touchpad too much, it's worth pointing out how Acura says its arrangement is different. Using something called "absolute positioning," the touchpad behaves more like an actual touchscreen – tap a corner on the pad and whatever's in the same corner of the display responds. In that way, it sounds like Acura is trying to marry a touchscreen with a more ergonomically comfortable interface. Color us curious. Precision Cockpit also stands apart in how Acura optimized it, designing the system with semi-autonomous driving in mind. The company went as far as to use a real-time 3D graphics engine to display what the vehicle's sensors "see" inside the instrument cluster. There's even an advanced vision mode that allegedly shows "cars, pedestrians, cyclists, and other objects – even those obscured from vision – using artificial intelligence to predict future pathways." While Acura is calling Precision Cockpit a concept, the company confirmed in its official release that the Android-based system "will power future production cars." If it comes with all the tech Acura's promoting here, Precision Cockpit stands to be a significant step forward in the digitization of car interiors.
