It's almost like new condition, and you have to search long and hard to find any flaws. Complete with lots of service and maintenance records."

One of the finest NSX's anywhere, adult owned, never tracked, meticulously maintained!

I am the 3rd owner of this stunning 1998 Berlina Black NSX-T.  I have only owned it for about one year.  I am selling it for several reasons that have made it difficult for me to enjoy the car.   First, there are several age related health issues that have made it more difficult for me drive the NSX more frequently .  Second,  I am spending much of my free time finishing the restoration of my 1956 Corvette, which also interferes with the free time that I have to drive the NSX.  Finally, and probably most importantly, I simply have too many cars often referred to  as "Big Boy Toys." I'm selling some of them now so that my wife isn't forced to deal with them in the future!  But I'm selling them, only if I can get a fair price. Both Kelley Blue Book and NADA Price Guide value this NSX at $40,000+; therefore, I think my asking price is very reasonable.

I purchased the NSX last year in Plano, Texas where it spent its entire life.  Obviously it's never been driven in the snow, and I'd  venture to say it probably has never seen rain.  It was originally purchased at the McDavid  Acura dealer in Plano, TX, and. afterward it was serviced there its entire life by one Master NSX Tech named Carl.  The second owner pampered this car and provided me with  lot of maintenance receipts, parts receipts, and other documentation to show just how well it had been taken car of.  Those receipts are available to whomever buys the car.

It is a rare automatic, and runs extremely strong.  I personally think this automatic holds its own and is a blast to drive.   It has plenty of power, and if you prefer you can use the "power shifter paddles" on the steering column. Owner #2 had several cosmetic modification and/ or updates performed on this car. He had new factory OE door grips and handles and knee boltsers installed last year at a cost of $1500.  To me, the interior looks and feels brand new. The car is beautiful both cosmetically and mechanically. There ARE NO ISSUES with the car.  It runs great, sounds great, shifts smooth and drives with authority. If you want a great handling car along with a lot of attention then this NSX is the car for you.  Many people stop and stare at it and inevitably ask what is it and what year is it?  Nobody can believe it's a 1998 model.  Before the NSX was introduced as a supercar in 1991 by Honda, many "car experts" scoffed at it. History showed that it held its own against the Ferraris, Porsches, and many other exotics.   Moreover, it became apparent that the NSX is much easier and less expensive to maintain than the higher priced super cars.

All of the expensive stuff has already been done on this NSX courtesy of owner #2, and once again, all of the receipts are available.  Belts, water pump, timing belt, AC service, CV boot, Valve adjustment and cam plugs, transmission service and more have been done.  The Carfax report that I recently acquired confirms that all of the aforementioned services had been performed by the McDavid Acura dealership in Plano.   The previous owner of eight years pampered this NSX, and I have continued to do so. It was recently professionally detailed and it looks amazing.  Oil changes using Mobil one have been done every 3000 miles. A year ago new Bridgestones were installed on the rear wheels, the fronts didn't need them.  If you want a second set of 4 Bridgestones with the original factory wheels, they are available.

All of the other NSX issues also were taken care of.  The factory new climate control and main fuse were attended to.  I have had no mechanical issues with it in the time that I have owned it.  The plugs were changed one year ago. You can buy the car and immediately enjoy it, because it has no issues. The car is a show stopper, and gets unbelievable attention wherever I drive it.  If you don't like being asked questions about your car, this one is not for you.

All of the modifications that have been performed on this NSX were tastefully done and purely cosmetic. They are all easily reversible if you want to return it to a 100% original NSX.  Personally I think it looks better the way it is right now.  Nethertheless,  I have all of the original stock parts for the car including the original wheels, struts, side skirts, intake, muffler and more if your want to return it to the original factory specs.  Some after market parts are also available including a nose bra, mirror bra, interior aluminum trim parts, and a car cover. No mechanical alterations were performed on this car.

The cosmetic modifications include the following:

Wings West Side Skirts and Spats,
JIC Coil Overs adjustable from the top, with fully adjustable height and ride. Rides better than stock
I-Forged 2 piece wheels, black center, polished lip, 17's on front, 18's on rear
Comptech aluminum engine brace
Machined aluminum trim rings around gauges, and extra trim pieces uninstalled
Ark quad tip exhaust and Downforce Air Intake (adds about 10-15 hp)
Floor mats, New NSX "R" style with red trim
Seats were reupolstered with new perforated black leather from Leatherseats, com (original seat covers available)
An I-pod and I-pod adapter with USB adapter from Grom was added. CD changer
Nose/bumper was repainted by Acura dealer to eliminate the rock chips.  It looks great!

Before I bought the car last year, I flew to Plano, Texas  to inspect it. I then had it delivered to  my home from Plano in an enclosed trailer by a professional classic car transportation company.  I live about 30 miles directly west of Pittsburgh, PA.  Since I have owned the car I have only driven it about 500 miles. There are no issues mechanical or otherwise that have occurred within the last year.  I have probably pampered the car even more than the other two owners.  In my opinion, this NSX is definitely way above range vs. similar 1998 sports cars.  It was introduced as an upper premium exotic, and I can say without hesitation that its a heck of lot easier to maintain than some of the other much higher priced exotics (because I've owned some of them).

I believe this NSX is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically, but it is fifteen years old; therefore, it is being sold "As Is" with no warranties written or implied.   If you look long and hard enough you might find a couple of minor flaws, but I don't think you'll find a nicer one for sale nor one that has been pampered and serviced like this one. It is being advertised locally, as well as through other automotive venues; therefore, I reserve the right to end this listing early.

If you or a representative would like to inspect the vehicle, please contact me to make arrangements. If you would like a copy of the CARFAX report contact me, and I'll provide it for you.  If you're really serious about the car,  and you need additional information,  you can reach me by phone at (304) 491-2020.  If I'm examining a patient,  or I am otherwise unable to take your call,  please leave a message,  and I will return your call as soon as possible. Finally,  please understand that this IS NOT a distress sale!!  I think I have priced the car fairly and firmly.  I may knock off a $1000 if you don't want all of the original parts, but that's it, so please don't bother sending me any ridiculous offers.  Time is too precious to waste!!!  Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful day!!!

2019 Acura RDX named a Top Safety Pick+ by IIHS

Tue, Aug 14 2018

To the accolades being heaped on the all-new 2019 Acura RDX, the automaker can now add another: a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the organization's coveted top rating. IIHS cites the SUV's good crashworthiness ratings, standard front crash prevention technology and even the availability of "good"-rated headlights, which has become perhaps the group's most daunting hurdle. To qualify for IIHS's top award, a vehicle must earn "good" ratings in the driver-side small overlap front crash test, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and an "acceptable" or "good" rating in passenger-side small overlap test. The RDX earns "good" ratings across the board. IIHS also rated the standard AcuraWatch safety technology as "superior," saying it avoided collisions at 12 and 25 mph, and it rated the base LED headlights as "good" and the curve-adapted headlights on the top-of-the-line Advance trim as "acceptable." Autoblog recently learned that 40 vehicle models earned good enough crash ratings to qualify for IIHS' Top Safety Pick rating but fall short because they don't meet the organization's criteria for good headlights. Acura says the 2019 RDX features the newest generation of its Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, plus new high-strength steel door stiffener rings and eight airbags. The AcuraWatch suite of safety technologies includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control and road departure mitigation, all standard. The RDX is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque and comes with a 10-speed automatic. The compact luxury crossover went on sale June 1 and set monthly sales records in both June and July. You can find Autoblog's driving review of the 2019 RDX here. Related Video:

Daily Driver: 2015 Acura TLX

Sat, Jul 4 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers who drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Acura TLX, reviewed by Seyth Miersma. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. Show full video transcript text Hey all, this is Seyth with Autoblog and I'm here in the 2015 Acura TLX. Right off the bat I can tell that the TLX doesn't feel anything like as sporting a sedan as the TL it replaced, at least not in the versions that I last drove, which admittedly were TL's with V6 power and the SH all wheel drive. This TLX has got a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, it's making 206 horsepower, and 182 pound-feet of torque, and it is connected up to a eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission. As you can tell by the power output this isn't an impressively fast car. It weighs about 3,500 pounds so it's lugging around some weight. At the same time the eight-speed transmission is really responsive especially as you go through the selectable gear programs, you can make the throttle response pretty good. It is a throttle by wire as well and I haven't noticed any weirdness there, it feels very linear, and like I said, when I turned the system into the sport plus mode the gas pedal becomes really responsive. The exhaust note is muted, you really have to get up over 5,000 rpm before you start feeling like the engine is really pushing you. One of the things that struck me first about this Acura when I got in it was how quiet it was at speed. I feel like in the luxury segment, Acuras have historically done a little bit better for being sportier versions of cars in their segment and not necessarily more refined, but that seems to have been changing a lot on the last few generations of Acura. What it lacks in athletic ability it makes up for in composure. I'm on a pretty good right now, there are plenty of bad ones around where I live so this suspension soaks up a lot of the impacts and it dampens the sound of them as well too. Acura is clearly going after a much more mainstream customer these days and I think a car like this could be very attractive, more attractive than ever for a shopper of something like a Lexus ES. One feature I did play around with was Acura's active lane keep assist which works actually by moving the steering wheel to a degree to keep you centered in your lane if your hands are off the wheel.

2020 Acura NSX leads this month's list of discounts

Mon, Dec 7 2020

With its 573-horsepower hybrid powertrain and 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds, there's no doubt that the Acura NSX is an impressive machine. As its production numbers and pricing adjustments attest, however, it's not a big seller. And this month, Acura's high-end coupe has a larger monetary discount than any other vehicle in America. Buyers of the 2020 Acura NSX are scoring an average cut of $19,659 off the car's $159,530 sticker price. That equals a 12.3% savings for an average transaction price of $139,871. That's still a hefty chunk of change, but it's a reasonable sum for a vehicle with the NSX's performance chops. The next two vehicles in order of largest discounts follow the same luxury performance coupe trend. The Audi R8 is a much pricier vehicle than the NSX, which means its $16,146 discount only represents 8% off its average $200,086 sticker, but we doubt buyers are complaining. Next up is the BMW M8, a vehicle that has been at or near the top of this list more than once. The M8's average discount of $15,403 represents a 10.4% savings off its $148,880 retail price. Interestingly, that puts the M8 and NSX within a few thousand dollars of each other.
