Acura rejoins with Seinfeld, sponsors Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee [w/videos]
Wed, 05 Jun 2013We enjoyed the opening season of Seinfeld's offbeat Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee web series, a video serial where Jerry Seinfeld picked up his friends in some of his classic cars and... chatted. It was a simple premise that offered some genuinely enjoyable moments, even if the 'cars' connection was often a bit incidental. In any case, Acura must have felt the same way, as it has just inked a deal to be the sole sponsor for the series' next season.
Acura, you may recall, already enjoys a relationship with the comedian - Seinfeld starred in the company's 2012 Super Bowl ad alongside the NSX supercar concept. So perhaps it's no surprise that it has signed on to sponsor 24 episodes of the series, due to roll out this year and next. Naturally, with any title sponsorship these days, you can expect to see some integration of the sponsor - in this case, Acura says such measures will involve its new 2014 MDX crossover, integrating "short, contextually relevant ads at the beginning and end of the episode."

It should be no surprise that the list of actors and comedians is impressive, with Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, and more making appearances. Seinfeld has lined up an equally impressive list of cars for the new season. Porsche, BMW, and Volvo all have beautiful machines lined up to shuttle Seinfeld and his guest to different coffee shops. Driving Iron Man's Favorite Supercar, The Acura NSX | Translogic 215
Thu, Feb 9 2017There's fast, and then there's 3 electric motors plus a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 fast. On this episode of Translogic, we're dealing exclusively with the latter. Our host Jonathon Buckley heads to Atlanta, GA to experience the hybrid-electric power of the Acura NSX. Bucko even had the opportunity to chat with the car's chief engineer about how the NSX is evolving the segment, much like its predecessor did nearly 3 decades ago. "It's gonna change the automotive segment very much like that original car did," said Jason Widmer, Chief Engineer for the NSX. Referencing the all-aluminum body on the original car and the 3 extra electric motors on the current model, Jason brings to light some of the more leading edge pieces of technology in the vehicles. Between the insanely smooth acceleration and the wonderfully loud engine noises, this is one hybrid that seems to give drivers the best of both worlds. This car has so much cool tech, it's no wonder it was Iron Man's vehicle of choice in the cinema blockbuster The Avengers.
