Jay Leno finally gets his hands on the 2017 Acura NSX

It has been five years since Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld starred in a commercial about which one of them would get the first example of the new Acura NSX. After a long wait, they finally get a chance, but Leno is the first to check out the coupe in the latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The denim-clad host spends over 30 minutes with lead designer Michelle Christensen and Ted Klaus, global development chief engineer, to get the full scoop on the hybrid supercar. Leno and Christensen get into the nitty-gritty about the design process for the latest NSX, and she points out her favorite parts of the finished product. She had quite a challenge creating the new supercar. Over the model's long gestation, every adjustment to the shape forced changes elsewhere to direct the airflow correctly, and then the decision to switch to a different engine configuration added even more time. Klaus focuses on the engineering side, like using the Ferrari 458 and original NSX as the major benchmarks for the new one. He also takes a ride with Leno, and the comedian even cracks a grin driving it. Leno doesn't usually show much emotion behind the wheel, so the little smirk is high praise from him. What Is, What Could Have Been, And What May Yet Be
History is largely unkind to losers. That's true in the world of politics and sports, and it follows on with a few caveats in the realm of automobiles.
In terms of cars, historic losers tend to be remembered in one of two broad ways. Every once in a while, unsuccessful or oddball models actually make reputational gains after some time away from the new-car marketplace. I consider the Saab 9-2X one of the recent poster children for this group; a car that moved like molasses on dealer lots in the mid-2000s but has morphed into a sort of hard-to-find, used gem in recent years. More often, though, that which was unloved when new remains unloved with tens or hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometer. Pontiac's seriously misunderstood Aztek has king status here (despite the wailings of oddball fan clubs across the nation), so much so that invoking "Aztek" as a pejorative stopped being pithy about a dozen years ago.

2015 Acura TLX priced from $30,995*

Following a delay this spring, Acura is now ready to launch the 2015 TLX sedan this August, with pricing now confirmed to start at $30,995, *not including $895 for destination. This base MSRP is just $360 more than that of the outgoing TSX sedan; the TLX replaces both the TSX and TL in Acura's 2015 model year lineup.
That's a pretty fair deal considering that introductory price gets buyers a front-wheel drive TLX with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 206 horsepower,mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and featuring the automaker's Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system. Adding a Technology Package ups the MSRP to $35,025.
Of course, the TLX is also available with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 mated to Acura's new nine-speed automatic transmission. The TLX V6 P-AWS starts at $25,220 and climbs to $39,250 with the Technology Package. The bottom line on the range-topping Advance model is $42,500. Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive is available with the 3.5-liter engine, too - the SH-AWD Technology model starts at $41,450, while the SH-AWD Advance commands $44,700.
