It has been garaged kept and the paint and leather are in excellent condition. It is the Sport Package, and has the Sport rims (without a scratch), roof rail, and more. It does not have navigation or back up camera. The timing belt and water pump were changed at 105K miles, and all other regular maintenance has been completed as it was due. The tires are low roll resistance Continentals, with only 5K miles on them. This has been a fantastic car, and the third row seating was a plus when our kids were small and needing toting everywhere. Now they are in college and we are down-sizing! You can't go wrong with this incredibly safe and comfortable vehicle."

This 2007 Acura MDX is offered for auction by the original owners.  We purchased it new in August 2007 from Crown Acura in Richmond, Virginia.  It has been garage kept and the paint and leather are in excellent condition.  It is the Sport Package, and has the Sport rims (without a scratch), roof rail, and many additional options. You can't go wrong with this incredibly safe and comfortable vehicle.  We are advertising the car locally and well, and reserve the right to end this auction at any time we have a serious buyer.  Will will not provide shipping, and we will accept only cash or certified check for payment.  Reserve is low.  My number is 434-962-8721 if you have questions about our MDX.  Good luck!

Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.

Acura TLX GT racecar to make motorsports debut at Detroit Grand Prix

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Acura debuted its TLX GT racecar at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, and it looks like the racer is set to get its first competitive outing in Motown as well. The RealTime Racing team is competing with a single car driven by Peter Cunningham for the Pirelli World Challenge rounds during the Detroit Grand Prix from May 30 through June 1.
Honda Performance Development is developing the TLX GT with a direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine, based on the production, naturally aspirated version, and all-wheel drive helps maintain traction. A second car is being added to the effort later.
The turbocharged Acura sedan will face competition in the series from vehicles like the Audi R8 LMS, Cadillac CTS-V, Dodge Viper, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 and more. With the Detroit Grand Prix hosting the sixth and seventh races in the Pirelli World Challenge GT class schedule, it doesn't seem that Acura is expecting to win the series in its debut season, but it will surely gain valuable experience.

Acura puts on display of mechanical horsepower in new ad

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

Originally forged with a brand identity based on luxury, sportiness and practicality, Acura has spent the last decade or so struggling with its image. The sporting credibility suffered a mighty blow with the loss of cars like the Integra, RSX and NSX, and recent years have seen the Japanese company attempting to recast itself as a technology leader.
All of that makes this latest Acura commercial, Let The Race Begin, even more difficult to understand, metaphorically speaking. The horsepower-horse race 'theme' certainly isn't difficult to fathom, with mecca-equine versions of popular luxury brands filling the screen. But the choice to make Acura's filly a flesh-and-blood creation seems odd, for the high-tech theme. Acura as "thoroughbred apart from the rest of the field" seems to be the rough message here, though we're not sure we're buying it. We're also not sure we're comfortable with how much these ponies reminded us of a certain off-putting robotic dog...
Looks expensive, at any rate. Watch the robot ponies run for yourself, below.
