Rare Gem 1992 Acura Legend L Coupe In "close To New" Condition! on 2040-cars
Mill Valley, California, United States
I LOVE this Acura Legend L Coupe, which is why I've decided to let it try to find a better home. I've had it exactly two months (two weeks of which I was out of the country), but after driving very nervously and parking very carefully, I've realized that this RARE GEM needs to belong to someone who can treat it as a "special" car, not their "only" car (like me). This may be the next best thing to buying from the original owner -- here's the history as I understand it: the first couple bought the Legend new in Sunnyvale, CA, and took delivery with seat covers installed. They then moved to one of the Hawaiian Islands and lived there for nearly 20 years. They didn't drive much (obviously -- 33K miles in 22 years!), always used the sunshield, and always kept it garaged. I'd be surprised if anyone has even been in the back seat! They then moved and had it shipped back to California, decided they needed a larger car, and sold to a young man who treated it like an investment and kept it warehoused except for a couple short road trips. He then (reluctantly) put it on Craigslist and -- as the former owner of a 1990 red Acura Legend coupe -- I was delighted to find it! However, I've since realized this lovely Legend SHOULD'NT be someone's only car, it's too-nearly perfect. After picking it up, I immediately took it in to Marin Acura for 30,000-mile service. The only problem they diagnosed was the windshield washer motor and tank needed to be replaced. I then discovered that it was a little hard to start when the engine was hot, and Marin Acura diagnosed a fuel injector relay problem which they also replaced. It's now in excellent mechanical condition and EVERYTHING works -- all the switches, seat levers, power locks and windows, trunk button, sunroof, antenna, etc. The second owner installed new tires and replaced the (buzzing, paper) rear speakers -- everything is clean & original, right down to the leather key cases! I'm keeping it garaged during this auction so the mileage and condition remain unchanged. May this beautiful Legend find its way to the right home … and if it doesn't meet the reserve price, then I'll assume I'm the right home and I will do my best to relax and enjoy my beautiful ride. Available to be seen / test-driven with appointment.

Acura TSX Sport Wagon on the way out?
Fri, 07 Jun 2013With Acura widely expected to consolidate its TSX and TL sedans into one model line in the near future, the fate of the TSX Sport Wagon is unsurprisingly in doubt. The long-rumored one-for-two sedan replacement is said to be dubbed TLX, and will sit above the Honda Civic-derived ILX, a model that already encroaches on the TSX's pricing and size. According to Ward's Auto, Acura officials are refusing to confirm that today's TSX wagon - effectively a re-schnozzed European-market Accord estate - is facing extinction. Reading the tea leaves, however, things certainly don't look good - the European Accord itself is said to be on the bubble and may not be replaced.
The TSX Sport Wagon was brought to the US as a niche play for the 2011 model year, with Acura of Canada taking a pass on the bodystyle. Officials said at the time that it hoped to shift 4,000 units per annum, roughly a 10-percent sliver of US TSX sales. And while Acura doesn't normally break out the wagon in its sales reports, Autoblog was able to obtain the model's totals for the last two years: the company sold 3,210 Sport Wagons in 2011, improving to 4,234 units last year. The current 2013 model began trickling into showrooms in December, but some dealers are still looking to clear out remaining 2012 models at handsome discounts.
Is Acura working on a premium minivan?
Mon, 10 Nov 2014Here's a vehicle that nobody saw coming. Unless Honda/Acura is keen to play tricks on us, our spy shooters recently caught what appears to be an Acura minivan fully camouflaged for testing on some back roads on a rainy day.
Details on the disguised minivan are rather scarce, but it certainly bares all the hallmarks of an Acura. The front grille alone gives it away with a look that mimics the latest MDX, and note that the orientation of the rear door handle heavily suggests that it slides to open. Moving inside, the tester appears to borrow some tech from the luxury brand's parts bin too, and the Acura logo seems to be covered in tape right in the middle of the steering wheel.
Mechanically, our spies believe that the production version of Acura's minivan might borrow the brand's V6, nine-speed automatic and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive - a similar layout to some trims of the TLX. The photographers also think that the vehicle is a little wider than the current Honda Odyssey to give occupants a bit more room. Given the more luxurious focus, the high-end model would surely carry seven people with a bit more opulence than the standard Odyssey, especially, we'd imagine, for second-row passengers. A launch for this posh hauler could be slated for the 2016 or 2017 model years.
Watch an Acura NSX prototype lap the track at Mid-Ohio
Sun, 04 Aug 2013As promised, Acura trotted its NSX prototype out to the mass of waiting fans ahead of today's Honda Indy 200 IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio. The hybrid supercar took to the track for a fast lap, and Acura was kind enough to attach a score of cameras to the car in order to share the event with the rest of the world.
The blue-wrapped NSX looks pretty darn good on a race track, if we do say so ourselves, and its V6 engine, coupled with its three electric motors and lithium-ion battery pack, sounds awfully sweet at full song. The automaker is promising to release its new NSX in 2015, which is still quite a ways away, so we don't expect this exhibition lap to be the last time we see a prototype in action ahead of a production debut.
Want to see the video? Of course you do. Scroll down to see the NSX take to the track like a fish takes to water.
