“Wow, that’s a lot for a 24 year old Acura”

At first glance that’s what I would think too- but words don’t do this car justice and this 2 owner car isn’t for just anybody. This beauty is probably best suited for either the Honda NA museum or someone who had a Legend at one time in the past and would like to relive those days. If you could walk into an Acura dealership and buy a Legend this car is what you would drive off the showroom floor.

This car has always been garaged when not being driven, hidden from UV rays, never seen snow and rarely seen rain. During the winters while stored it was started and ran monthly. The original owner is the mother of my NSX tech, an Acura factory trained master tech. Frankly part of the reason I bought the car in the first place is that it is that it was impeccably maintained, is gorgeous and is the same color combo as my NSX- red with tan- so they look awesome sitting together.

This Legend L with a dealer-installed rear spoiler is as close as you can get to LS trim, the only difference being the black side moldings that are body color on the LS. It has soft-close doors like my wife’s Phaeton, leather interior, dealer-installed wind deflector and sheepskin seat covers. The paint is original with no accidents or repaints.

About 3 years ago to update the look I tinted the windows, installed lowering springs and larger more modern 18” wheels to bring this classic design current. The original wheels are included, have no curb rash and are in the same condition as the rest of this 36K classic. The newer wheels have a couple small blemishes on the curb side. This car could easily be returned to as new with minimal effort.

The interior is as outstanding as the exterior. The front seats have always been covered with OEM sheepskin covers except when the leather was being cleaned and conditioned.  A picture shows the driver’s seat bottom and side bolsters uncovered to show the like new condition of the original seats. Pictures show the car with a new set of OEM floormats in place (purchased with the car new) as well as the originals which have always been shampooed and are in perfectly acceptable condition themselves. I actually prefer the look of the originals as the new, unused mats just look too perfect if there is such a thing.

This car can be driven anywhere in high style and comfort.  Everything operates and functions as it should and as new. Occasionally the ABS light comes on; a restart clears this and I haven’t bothered to look any further into it since it clears itself. The only cosmetic blemishes on this car are minimal rock chips on the grill garnish (not the hood itself), one on the front bumper cover and a small area on the rear cover (pictured). The front chips will be easily touched up and a decision on the rear will be up to the next owner.

So that’s about it. Nothing forces the sale of this car besides too many horses in the corral. With an original price of 34K after dealer options, I don’t think the asking price is unreasonable for the right buyer who wants a virtually brand new, meticulously maintained 24 year old timeless classic that you simply can’t walk into a dealership and buy today. Thanks for looking!

North American Car, Truck and SUV of the Year finalists revealed

Thu, Nov 17 2022

The finalists for the 2023 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards were announced Thursday at the L.A. Auto Show. — The Acura Integra, Genesis Electrified G80 and Nissan Z made the cut in the car category. — The Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevy Silverado ZR2 and Lordstown Endurance advanced in trucks. — And the Cadillac Lyriq, Genesis GV60 and Kia EV6 advanced among utilities.  The winners will be announced Jan. 11 in Detroit.  The finalists underscored the industryÂ’s shift to electric vehicles, as all three utilities and two of the three trucks are EVs. The finalists were culled from a list of 26 semifinalists made up of three trucks, 10 cars and 16 utility vehicles that are new this year.  Notables that missed the cut include the Mercedes EQE, Subaru WRX and Toyota GR Corolla in cars; while the Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage and Rivian R1S were among the utes that did not advance. The three trucks are the only ones eligible this year and have advanced through the voting.  50 jurors who work for media outlets across North America vote three times over the course of the year to whittle down the field, which was originally 47 vehicles. Jurors also test the semifinalists at an October group event in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Honda Civic (car), Ford Maverick (truck) and Ford Bronco (utility vehicle) were the 2022 winners. 2016 Acura NSX aimed at Ferrari 458 for the price of Audi R8

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Acura has done a good job of keeping the next-generation NSX under the wraps for the past few months, especially after a fiery little incident during testing at the Nürburgring earlier this year. But UK's What Car? recently got a chance to speak with development boss Ted Klaus, and he unleashed a few new details about the much-anticipated supercar to make it even harder for us to wait.
Among the info was a strong estimate of the NSX's performance potential. "We have to achieve the type of acceleration that the customer is achieving with the Ferrari," said Klaus to What Car?. "More importantly we have to achieve this every day and also at the Nürburgring." Assuming Acura's supercar is as actually quick as a 458 Italia, then it could hit 60 miles per hour in around 3.5 seconds.
Klaus also claims that the wickedly fast performance could come at a relative bargain for the class. The price is reportedly being benchmarked against the Audi R8, which would put the NSX around $130,000 in the US. While hardly cheap, it would still be a healthy discount off a 458.

Editors' Picks March 2022 | Acura RDX, VW GLI and a Rolls-Royce

Tue, Apr 5 2022

This month's Editors' Picks offer a little something at every budget. We call out a performance car as cheap as the Volkswagen GLI, but the Rolls-Royce Ghost also manages to make its way on to the list. Of course, very few folks can afford a Ghost, but that doesn't change the fact that it's an engineering master class. In addition to these options, we also dive into the compact luxury SUV market, one that is bursting with choices. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, here’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in March that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2022 Acura RDX Quick take: The RDX ticks a lot of boxes for a great price. It drives better than expected, offers excellent tech, has plenty of room and even looks the part. Score: 7.0 What it competes with: Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, BMW X3, Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Genesis GV70, Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace, Lincoln Corsair Pros: Value, driving dynamics, space Cons: Infotainment is polarizing, midgrade interior From the editors Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "The RDX is a bit of a sleeper in this segment. It drives far better than many of its competitors, and it doesn't let you down in any particular area. If you were thinking of buying an entry-level option from one of the Germans, make sure you take the RDX into account, because you'll likely end up with more tech and features for an even lower price. News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "The Acura RDX is an impressive value in the small luxury SUV segment. It starts in the low $40,000 price range, and provides loads of standard convenience and safety features. Everything is packaged in a sharp and surprisingly spacious package, too. It's also nimble and has a punchy engine that makes it fun to drive. You may find some competitors that surpass it in some areas, but the Acura offers about the most for the money of anything in the segment." In-depth analysis: 2022 Acura RDX Review | Value-packed and surprisingly sporty   2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Quick take: The GLI offers excellent driving dynamics and great styling for someone who doesn't want a hatchback. It's pricey, but it's worth it.
